Forgive my bluntness but you deserve this.   Why did you even bother posting this reply? It serves no purpose that I can tell. It's cliche, presumptuous, and pretentious and I'm getting tired of reading this exact response when newer players dare to ask about optimizing whats available to them. Are you actually suggesting that I remain in L3 missions when I've trained sufficient skills to run everything T2 on my ship except guns? Yea ... let me put my fun factor on hold till the community gives the green light to fly for fun.  Guess what finger I'm holding up.

I am successfully running L4 missions and yes .. my domi is my fallback drone whore. Its hard to argue dual repper drones, but I want a killing machine and to reduce my mission time. The faster I run them the more isk I make afterall. So,

 

I'm not even sure what the dps benchmarks are yet.   If I adjust the ammo on EFT to antimatter my predicted dps increases to 325. I don't know how bad that is, but even when I set all skills to lvl 5 EFT shows a grand total of 427 dps using caldari antimatter.

Raw dps doesn't seem to be an issue as those NPC battleships are taken down at a comfortable speed. Its the BC and cruisers causing me all this grief. While I know enough of the game to turn my drones on them I was really hoping to learn at what point of training that my turrets into a hot knife against the smaller than BS ships. Is there a fit or tactic I could be missing? What tactics are the experienced pilots flying missions with gallente using, if any ?

 

 

It wasn't ment as an insult to you personally. I also never said to not run L4 mission. I never even asked what level you were running. Also in your first post you say you do not have all T2 fittings. I ran L4's in a full T1 fitting mega for a while, and I know it is possible to do, but it was not very productive. I was mearly stated that a ship w/o the correct fit and skills is not that effective.

Anyway if you still feel like hearing my opinions then....

Large turrets will never really turn into a hot knife against smaller ships. BC's shouldn't be too hard to hit. Anything smaller will always give large turrets issues. They just can't track the smaller ships. My dps was at 391 with normal antimatter charges, and that was lacking a bit to me. The main issue I had was keeping the npc's in optimal range. I usually killed the smaller ships as they get into optimal before the BS's. As soon as they fall under the range of your guns the damage drops quite a bit.

Umm how the hell can you not want him to interfere? He CREATED Star Wars. EVERY book, game, or nicknack for the world is first approved by him. I have seen the interviews with him talking about this.  The only mistake I can see that he made (other than letting Sony get ahold of a starwars game) was Jarjar character when he was tring to appeal to a younger audiance.

Try a webifier - something that will help slow the targeted ship down when they get in close - especially smaller ships.   By dropping down their speed it enables your turrets to more easily track them and score hits.   Also I believe a tracking link to improve your turrets speed would help more than a tracking computer - I think.

Also, you're right - your DPS is really low for a BS are you sure you calculated it right?

These are your main 2 issues atm. While I flew turret boats as well, they really are not that great for mission. Your dps is terrible though.

In anycase work on all the turret skills and support skills for them. Also large turrest really have issues hitting smaller ships, just use drones for them.

The key goes with the account, not the client you install.

You also have to look at the reputation of that corp. Since the game keeps track of all current and past corps you have been in, if they have a bad rep. it could hurt you if you choose to change later on.

Because all the games out atm are crap.
