I personally still play FFXI and still since the begining, now alot of people who've played the game and quit, come on  to these sites either to bash the game or talk about how it was and use too be.... yes there where some positive sides to the game in the begining but like all other great MMORPG's, it doesnt last. The reason behind the changes where for starters the populations was droping faster than a turd in a punch bowl. Second inorder to bring and stablize the popluation to not abandon the game they needed to make dramatic changes. I believe they were postive while still keep true to the core of the game play style and story lore.

     This game will not die out, I'm pretty sure of it the community is unrelenting and unwavering in it's style, lore and entertainment. The community still continues to be the best I believe in he world of MMO gaming. Very helpful, friendly, adventuring and most importantly MATURE.

      Honestly I've played a fair share of other mmorpg's during my subcription with FFXI and to tell you nothing compare with it in storlore and community.  You'll enjoy yourself on it, once you find a great linkshell and there's plenty of people who are willing to hand you one.

Today, I read about everyones disscussions randomly... on different topics. I have personally never played EQ or EQ2 even though I'm a older player..... I have played multiple MMORPG's both P2P and F2P.

Nothing that I have seen, heard, or played. Has ever been considered a truley indepth experiance.

To me... to find the right MMO..... it's like soul searching  in a sense, like tring to find a perfect companion. None that I've played or witness have been a good enough.

I myself believed I have found one, in playing the free trial ---- Vangaurd Saga of Heros. It is a game thats a classic!

Believe me SOE that you dont want to loose this game to F2P it's perfectly fine as a P2P.

All this game needs is a little attention in the marketing department to sell.

F2P means more people, but with that comes immature people, cash shops, and disfunctioned community, which all spells ruined and unenjoyable.

P2P means an adult will need to cash handle the account, Usually are mature players, closer communtiy, removes cash shops, and alot of immature players (mainly cause you'll need a credit card) children would have a difficult time to access. Makes it more enjoyable for people . This game in trial version it is a very fun game, and a challenge.Afterward buy it and subcribe. I would suggest it to anyone tired of the same grind system these new fast pace MMO's keep putting out. I know, I'm sick of it!

Sure you can, the ls I'm in has alot in it nice people. They are always looking for good-hearted, firendly players.

I am a FInal Fantasy XI gamer been one since it was released in the USA. I have witness it's ups and downs, alot of updates that made the game much more pleasing to it's gamers and new comers. Leveling is easier, questing is fun, and it's socially rewarding. The game is a player based economy still, using the AH (auction house). Which means you can have fun crafting and make a profit doing so. Certain mobs still job gear but that takes great skill and/or with fellow adventurers to get. The world is impressively massive which continues to grow with each new expansion or add-on. The community is awsome nothing like it in any MMOROPG world today. Did I also you can also plant grow crops, racing your mount against others for rewards, Besides from crafting you can take up hobbies to do if you want to chill and take a break from crafting, adventuering, quest, missions, etc..

I was not here to sell this game but tell you how I feel about this game. Its fun, alot of low level players on (atleast on my Server). partying is fun. Here I have found this website hopefully you'll try it out and see for yourselves.

I just tired out  the 14-day trial of Dark Age of Camlot. The graphics after adjusting the resolution seems, pretty decent. Although, the whole game language is in German. I can not understand my quest, or turtorials. I'm pretty disappointed I reinstalled the game again and still it's in German. So, I deleted it without giving it anymore effort. Anyone planning on even trying this game. It's really not worth it if, even Sony doesn't give time to for new players to make an impression on them. Nice Starting point Sony,on a 14-day trial........... you lost my vote to play again.
