WarhammerAlliance site is ran by soccer moms me thinks..lol
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 12/18/08 7:12:03 AM
On the other hand, I wouldn't see a soccer mom condoning the use of foul language... Very silly ban, I think. The general media is guilty of much worse every day. Silly thing, in general. There is no sequence of syllables that should be reasonably considered offensive, in and of itself. On the other hand, it should not be difficult to refrain from rendering them openly if any member of the audience may find it distasteful. |

I believe it. I played on the same server/faction as this guy. I've listened to him on vent. He was also the servers first forty on his Witch Elf... Aside from playing unbelievably long periods of time, dedicating each moment to leveling, he was actually pretty terrible (guild leading and rvring) and annoying. |

POLL:Are you going to resub? (i know there is already a thread like this, open for details)
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 12/06/08 1:57:44 AM
The game revolves around PvP/RvR, yet it's the same garbage as WoW pvp, only with greater population imbalances. The minute I realized how anti-competitive, mindless, unbalanced, and non-rewarding it truly was, from owning open battlefield objectives to winning scenarios, I stepped away... And because there will be no drastic revamping in the forseeable future, I will not go back. |

I tried once. I tried buying 100k gil in FFXI when I was still a noob. The company ripped me off and I never got it, though. I don't really feel bad about it, though. That's not a large chunk of cash (in game or in real life), nor is it something that would give me the winning edge on a bunch of players. It's not even a pvp-centric game. It'd actually only be helping other players that I partied with. I think it's understandable if you're new, or if you remember being new, to FFXI.. But that sort if gil is almost a breeze now. |

What appealed to me mainly about the game were the combat animations. They just looked so appealing. Thought I'd at least have to give it a try... Though, after playing the beta, I was pretty unimpressed. It seemed extremely linear, a total rehash of everything out there, except for the heroes... Which also was like Guild Wars anyway... Nothing really hooked me |

Blizzard having issues... or am I screwed?

Did you recently click on any questionable wow links, any questionable downloads (mods/hacks), perhaps participated in some Real Money Trading? I know half of this someone wouldn't want to admit, but if so, there could be your answer. It does sound like the info has been changed to me, unless it's amnesia! |

The subjob quest allows you to actually select a job as a support job, aside from your main job. So instead of being a level 18 THF, if you have leveled your WAR up some, you can be 18THF/9WAR, at the same time, essentially... A few things to remember: 1. After completing the quest, support jobs are chosen and changed at your Mog House. 2. A support job's level capacity is only half of your main job, as was mentioned earlier. Only your main job gets experience from the things you do. You must independently level a job you intend to have as your support job, or else you will just be a 18THF/1WAR. 3. The benefits of a support job include all job abilities and traits up to the level displayed while it is your support job. Stat improvements are given as well. For instance, a Level 18 Hume THF will gain the following benefits by using WAR at level 9 as his support job: Stats Job Traits 4. Two Hour abilities from support jobs can not be used. 5. Only your main job determines the equipment you can wear, except for specific latent effect items. 6. Combat and Magic skills that are proficiencies exclusive to your support job will not advance through their usage. (IE: A THF/WHM can not increase his healing magic skill by healing.) 7. Certain jobs lose some abilities as a support job, but only a very few. These are practically the only limitations, nothing much you should worry about at this point: You can't equip instruments with Bard as a support job, so you can use only one song at a time. Corsair as a support job limits you to one dice roll at a time. Using Dragoon as a support job restricts you from calling your wyvern.
Might be forgetting something, but I hope not. |

Witch Hunters=most useless class in PvP and RvR...what a weak class!
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 11/10/08 8:27:32 PM
In groups, I think Witch Elf and Witch Hunter are the most team relient classes in the game. The classes have almost no survavibility in group fights. They were designed around taking priority on killing stragglers and unattended healers very fast. They do this pretty well through the right stats, gear (IMO quite possibly the most gear relient class as well), and build, but there are occasions when one may question their character's worth with how little this actually happens. I also think there's a good possibility that Witch Hunter is weaker in this aspect than Witch Elf. If your team is uncoordinated, you may have a LOT of trouble. If you are fighting a team that is much more coordinated than yours, you will have a LOT of trouble. I have long since abandoned my Witch Elf and rolled a Zealot. Also, I believe I can say it isn't just me and how I play. I have very often been commended for my ability, picked out by members of both Order and Destruction as being the best, if not one of the best Witch Elves on the server when I used to play it. |

I agree with you entirely, but unfortunately you will probably find that most people don't. I guess most people don't want to think. They want to hop on, churn out another compulsive victory or defeat, and hop off. I find that very disappointing, because one primary reason I was drawn to MMORPGs was this: intellectual integrity, where winning means outthinking your opponents. |

Please. Stop calling WAR cartoony. You can say all you like or dislike about it. But if you think it's cartoony, you have no artistic sense. You must have no eyes. You must be playing on a braile keyboard through command prompts with microsoft sam TTS. Just because something is fantasy doesn't mean it is cartoony. Lighting, colors, shading, anatomy, architecture, nature, textures... ALL of that is very quite relatively realistic. It looks nothing like WoW. I don't care if you don't like the graphics. Please just stop calling it cartoony. Or you'll look stupid. And hurt my brain. |

Its a game with a ton of potential
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 9/11/08 5:45:23 AM
I do not expect WAR to stomp WoW. I do not expect it to even compete with 10m subs. Nor do I want it to steal all WoWs subs away. There are many kinds of people who play WoW that I would not like to see play WAR. One thing is for sure. I am almost completely confident that WAR will be a relative success. Bigger than any game since WoW, at least. I would not be at all surprised if it becomes the second most 'successful' mmorpg ever to date. Many people will probably play WAR and go back to WoW. That happens with all MMOs. Many people tried WoW and went back to whatever game they were playing before that. But many people will probably stay with WAR. I believe I am one of them. I also believe that there will be enough of them to deem WAR a major success. |

Warhammer Open Beta Population?

Maybe it's buggy and not displaying properly. For a while, the US client showed ALL servers as Full / Full, and I know that was far from the truth at 2AM pst. |
