Subscription Idea I have not seen on these forums. Subscription without a box price

Can't see this game having any lasting appeal in its current state
General Discussion « Neverwinter 5/25/13 8:16:12 AM
Originally posted by Piechunks You wanted us to get back to the other points you made, so I will. Have you fully geared out this TR of yours? I mean, do you have full Castle Never gear and max level enchantments? If not, then you can't really say that it is lacking in content. There are lots of dungeons already at end game, and the next tier (Gauntlgrym) is due in a few weeks. I would hardly call this game end game light. It has way more stuff to do at end game than SWTOR had at launch. And this is looking to be padded out nicely very shortly. As for the Foundry. I already use it to level my alts, like you have said the in-game levelling content is fairly linear. Although you can level entirely through the Foundry, PvP, skirmishes or dungeons rather than ever doing the solo quests again on an alt. This is more than most games offer. There are a few questlines I do for the rewards (the two other bag slots) but other than that I spice it up with new Foundry quests. |

Originally posted by Piechunks Not really. In your OP it said it took you two days. You didn't clarify that you meant /played time, so it was pretty reasonable that I misinterpreted. It was a fairly misleading comment, possibly intentional. So it took you around 48 hours of playtime to reach 60, which is a bit more reasonable. Without exploiting you are looking at 1-2 levels per hour once you get past 20. So a casual player will probably take between two weeks and a month to hit max level. |

How is vertical progression done in this game?
General Discussion « Neverwinter 5/25/13 8:04:26 AM
Originally posted by coretex666 Like in most games, vertical progression is via items once you reach max level. There are 3 current tiers of gear. T1, T2 and T2.5 (from Castle Never, the final dungeon in progression). The gear itself doesn't take that long to progress through. I got fully T2 in about 2 weeks. T2.5 is taking a bit longer thanks to RNG. The main grind however is in getting yourself the top tier gems / enchants. This can take a while unless you dump money into the cash shop. Without using the cash shop, you are probably looking at 2 months to get them all (not including if you purchase the coalescent runes from other players, which will speed it up). The next tier of gear however is due shortly, with Gauntylgrym, which is rumoured to be like a raid. The producers letter indicated this would be another few weeks away. |

I'm not. Getting all the skills in GW1 took a lot longer than it did to see everything in this game. |

Originally posted by Neo_ViperOriginally posted by evilastro Yeah, but they announced there is no expansion this year already in a Dev post. I don't really see them adding enough content for me to pop in except for a few minutes of PvP here and there. |

Yeah they really dropped the ball by having temporary content and deciding not to release an expansion a year later. Its a theme park, you need to be on top of new content. GW1 had a lot more staying power for me, at least there were skills to hunt down at max level, to experiment with new builds. |

Neverwinter: First State of the Game Letter Published

Originally posted by furbans Putting two dual wield classes instead of a bow class would be retarded. Besides, the datamining actually indicated that it was Archer Ranger. Which is the more requested ranger unsurprisingly. |

Archer ranger, scourge warlock and rune priest were data mined. So either warlock or ranger is next, since they said ranged.

Just read this, its pretty long, but it covers a lot of stuff - what has been happening since launch, immediate plans for the future, long term plans. http://nw.perfectworld.com/news/?p=896631
Lots of cool info, including that Gauntylgrym is due in a few weeks, and that a new class and paragon paths aren't far off on the horizon. It was nice to see how candid they were about the issues they were having. Also looks like they are planning to drop the Open Beta tag in the not so distant future. |

Speaking of ridiculous claims, two days to 60 as a casual player? Hah, only if you exploited either the quest bug or the foundry. |

For the record, currency exchange is back to pre-exploit levels already. So much for the train wreck.

Game is still jam packed. Only people who never liked the game in the first place are jumping up and down about the exploits and the response to them. You guys have been predicting doom and gloom for cash shops since inception. Its never going to happen.
