Sneaking up on someone and attacking them when they are unaware or even zerging them with an overwhelming force.

so ok .. attacking someone who is unaware has a negative connotation when you are looking at the roleplaying "fun" on a server? what would be the appropriate thing to do then as not to be labeled a ganker?

should you send them a tell letting them know your about to kill them? wait for them to hit you first? 

now zerging also has multiple meanings .. depending on the game .. some might call dying and rushing back to the fight over and over again zerging .. you describe using several differant characters to fight someone as zerging

in your instance how is it negative to attack someone with superior numbers?  it is pvp right? if you run across a solo person with  group of your friends should you all stand there while that person duels each one of you?

now I understand there is some etiquette to group vs solo .. ive played eq2 pvp since those servers opened and back in the day some of us wouldn't attack soloers if we were in a group .. but you know what .. those same people you spare almost always jump on the area channel and announce your presence and direction and numbers .. so why shouldn't you at least kill them and get something in exchange for their spreading the intelligience about your group ..

i just think that some of the terms and their usages here are commonly misinterpreted and hodge podged together

Ok here comes my two cents worth lol .. been reading a few differant blogs and posts in the last couple days about this supposed addiction to gaming ..

1st    If you are addicted to gaming i feel really sorry for you .. there are alot funner things in life to become addicted to .. sex... drugs.. drinking.. porn ... i mean seriously your going to botch up your life have your wife leave ya lose your job .. you should at least have the decency to get addicted to something fun .. geesh buncha nerds lol

2nd   I really can't fault the gaming industry at all .. have they really put out anything ever that is sooooo gratifying that it is really worth the effort to become addicted??? WoW certainly doesn't seem to be in the same category for satisfying as say ..... (well you get the idea insert vice of choice here)

3rd   I don't... nor have I ever seen anything inherently put into a game that would say "hey i bet they were trying to get me addcited with this feature or this part of this particular game" .. not like some cigarette company putting addictive chemicals in their cigarettes or something .. ( uh oh i said it .. gotta start watching my back now, ive blown the whistle)

I mean really people .. what a piss poor excuse to be a slovenly lazy weak willed schmuck ... "I can't help it I'm addicted to World of Warcraft" ... Puuuhhleeaassee!!

I just wish it was fatal .. then there'd be less hardcore morons flaunting all their uber leet gear in my games and as an added bonus there'd be more Mountain Dew for me lol

I read every single one of these posts from the original to  the one posted right before this one .. I laughed alot .. I mean alot .. this argument has gone from points of grammatical accuracy to beliefs almost religious in their faithfulness of whether this poor game is going to release or not ..

Killershiver you have to be the single most driven individual for the idea that this game is going to absolutely be completed on this whole website.

They should hire you as their PR guy for real .. hell the vatican should hire you to convert the chinese to catholocism. lol

and someone someplace in here posted that they thought someone else was getting paid to come here and flame this game or that ... i gotta know .. where do you apply for that job and what is the job title cause i can think of harder things to do for a living

Yes there is a very good chance your character is still there .. as long as you are restarting the same sony account .. as well you should also have all the veteran's rewards available since you created your account ..so if you opened it at the game launch you have some nice stuff waiting on you

hmm .. i agree .. the zoning isn't that bad at all .. i hardly notice it really .. i mean from the poster who was talking about the zoning and graphis well he played SWG and EVE for years .. yet he wants beautiful graphics and no zoning? i mean come on .. you zone in eve everytime you go through a gate .. and it doesn't take nearly as long to get from A to B in EQ2 as it does EvE .. and the graphics on SWG sure weren't anything to amaze me ...

over all i really like this game and since the EOF and now Neriak there is even more starter zones and content .. and the starter zones In EQ2 aren't someplace to wiz through real quick while you learn to mash buttons they are a bit more indepth and really get you ready for the game .. well except for the PvP .. which i'd suggest you play.. much more challenging and a better sense of accomplishment

This is what i think will happen if a good MMO like AOC is purported to be goes and ups their subscription fee.

Every crap game from here on out will try and charge the same in hopes that you will assume they must be good because they cost more .. just look at consumerism today .. does a Gucci purse last longer or contain some rare material .. no .. but since they charge more people assume they must be better ..

it would just be a case of corporate manipulation .. they would keep hammering us with higher fees until eventually we just got sick of complaining and accepted it ..

The things you have posted are all well and good .. but what about gear? once you have a rifle/shotgun/and a couple pistols what else do you need?

Also how would the economy run .. you mentioned some tradeskills .. but what does a western adventurer need with a blacksmith other than the occasional shoeing of a new horse ..

Don't get me wrong I would love a really good Western MMO .. but in my opinion the genre just isn't deep enough ..

Also i'd think the quest lines would get pretty thin when you've tracked your 500th bandit, or whatever .. not really sure how far the quest lines could go ..

The economy would be pretty stale to I think .. what are you going to spend your money on?

Just a couple things to think about

i had this problem once .. and when i got ahold of someone on their 800 number i told them that not only had i cancelled but that i had cancelled even farther back then i really did .. and they refunded me for two months .. i figured they owed me for their crappy system consuming my time .. since i would normally be paying to consume their product .. fair is fair i spose

needless to say if you get ahold of a customer serv rep they will/should refund you

I don't know what everyone is whining about anyway .. i used the 14 day free trial advertised on this sight and i have access to SL and AI .. and i think the game rocks .. it isn't dumbed down so every 11 year old with ADD can sit around and complain about how their character got beat down by some mob they couldn't outsmart ..

this game requires thought, planning and fore thought .. not to mention the teamwork and social skills required to keep at least associates if not friends ..

let all the 11 yr olds flock to rf online .. let them spend their parents money and all of us intelligient gamers who enjoy challenge and creativity .. interspersed with a little social activity we'll just stay right here with our "crappy graphics, and boring "old" game" hehe
