Hey, im down. watching the IPL LOL game and dling GW as we speak!

     The very first Diablo was ported to the Original PlayStation1. Infact i stil have a copy sitting with my ps3. For everyone that does not believe me.

So to the person that said that blizz was selling out by branching into the Console market... well ur about 12-13 years to late.

honestly i have played both at max level and wow at 60,70,80,85.

 I had a lot of fun leveling in Rift. I played on a pvp server and Really enjoyed myself there. Once i hit level 50 the game DIED! there wasn't much to do. PVP was a joke IMO it was very very unbalanced and raiding was just boring to me. ( been there done that). The game ran great. Maxed out settings. and was very visualy pleasing.

WOW, i played wow sence beta. And yes. dont listen to ppl. wow ran like crap when it was first released. but now its one of the smoothest and most polished mmo's on the market. mainly because it has been out now for 7 years. The biggest down fall to wow is the leveling. its so boring u wanna stab bambi. Its got its moments of fun though. but you will find yourself trying to rush as fast as you can to get to max level which is 85. Thats were wow starts to shine. There is no much content in wow. Being that it has been out for 7 years. The graphics are not as good as Rift. But IMO they are bad ass. I love the art style.(My opinion).

All in all Between and my un biased opinion i would play wow. I think in the long run its a way better and more polished game. Rift is a good choice to but like i said Its just not as polished as wow.

Yeah so im thinking of going back to guild wars and maybe getting my wife into it. I was woundering how the community and popoulation is now. are there still guilds out there. hows pvp? is it easy to find groups or help from others?

Played this on and off sence it was released but i havn't played this in so so long. and im looking for somthing to do with my wife.

I played rift in one of the betas my laptop at the time could barley run ths game. but with my new laptop i got last week i thought i would give rift a go. (mine you im running the game on Ultra and with 0 lag or framerate issues... ). My buddy's and I started on Harrow a RP-PVP server and i have to say going into a game knowing nothing and asking questions i find the community very helpful. Alot better then most games i have played. Yes MMO and well every game period is full of elitests kids. (i myself get this was like this back when i played wow. but i played for 6 years. and was in a top world guild. but I was still very helpfull i would alway answer questions i was asked with a nice and plecent additude. I would say that 60% of the community in games are "elitest" now adays so when ppl log into a game and see this they think the whole community is like this. when there is still alot of ppl out there that are willing and or love to help.

Ok, so im gonna give LOTRO a shot. Played wow for 6 years (love it just getting old). and you name it i played it. Loved DDO. So i got a new laptop Top of the line specs i gotta say =) I gotta love the Asus G73SW its a beast! anyways im currently playing LOL and love that too but i need an mmo.

So if anyone can give me some advice. tips on classes and what not. I was thinking of making a hunter. though i normaly play rogue like classes. the burglar seems cool. Is the burglar pretty cool? Does Man make a good hunter/buglar?

How are instances? how are guilds. ( i was in all elitest guilds in wow. yeah i know but i got good loot and got so see some cool endgame. which all i cared about was seeing the story line.) though im done with all of that. looking for something a little layed back till D3 or SWTOR. so if anyone can let me know that would be awesome!

 This right here. Your computer is like 6 years old. that graphics card is way way out of date. hell i cant even remember when the 8600 seires came out. are you still running windows xp?

yeah IMO its better to start out with to little and add from there. that way servers say balanced. Which brings me back to my first quote. I think Trion is putting all of there eggs in 1 basket. Its gonna hurt them in the long wrong. They are just pissing money away for something they are gambeling on. I think Rift will have a decent player base. and it may at first. but in a month or 2 ur gonna see like 1/3rd or half the population go back to wow.(or whatever game they are playing.) Rift is currently the flavor of the month. (not trying to troll or fanboy anything)

Like i said i have been playing MMO's for a very long time. I have been playing video games sence i could walk. i am now 25 turning 26 in a couple months. I have always wanted to make video games and because of my past backround think i have alot of knowledge behind it. I have played alot of MMOs and have caught on to the pattern. It sucks i know.

When WoW came out, the mechanics were similar to EQ/UO, but the philiosophy behind the game was radically different. EQ sought to make the game challenging and difficult, and actively worked to create a huge rift between those that could spend a lot of time in the game, and those that couldn't.

When i played the Rift beta like i said i enjoyed it but i played a rogue.... It was the same thing as a wow rogue but i could add to more classes to it. In essense it was the same class. It had the same combo point system same abilities same everything. Why bother leveling when its in essense the same game!

So do i think that Trion is gonna make the same mistake as Mythic. No i dont but i think they are putting all there eggs in to once basic. which in the long run i think will hurt them.

While I personally do not like RIFT, I will defend TRION on this point.

People left EQ because WoW was simple better in most aspects and appealed to a wider audiance. Now whether or not RIFT has done this is yet to be seen. But saying "Why play x game when its the same as game y" is not a good arguement, simple because if it was we would all still be playing EQ and UO.

I agree, but my statement wasn't about leaving a game to play the same game. My statement was why would leave a game A for game B when its the same game but in game A you have alot more time put into it. people quit wow and come back because they go to another game that is made exactly the same when they relaize that they go back to wow because they already have the time invested into it.

We are in this slump mostly for Pc gamers and MMO's ingeneral where there are no good games with the exception of "WOW" (played for 6 years no longer play due to the fact i put 6 years into the game and its just boring to me now) League of Legends, StarCraft2, Diablo2 LOD, Counter Strike, and Modern WarFare:  Black Ops. With what blizzard has commented on about Titan, Where they want to seperate gameplay in one area and social in aonther. I can totaly see this being a Sci-Fi, Twitch based combat space MMO where u can land in a station and walk around and mignle trade and do other aspects of that nature. but thats just my guess.

Oh no go with the 120hz, The picture will be so much more clear and smoother. Watch a bluray movie on a 60hz tv and then watch one on a 120hz tv. you will see a HUGE difference that. I just recently upgraded from a Toshiba 37" 60hz tv to a Samsung 120hz 47" and omg the difference is so noticable you wont beable to believe it. Avatar looks so much more amazing, you almost get motion sickness from how smooth the camera pans.

all I will add to this is that DPS warriors still have no actual crowd control (outside the ability to off tank per say) which is going to screw them on dungeon/raid spots just like it did back in classic wow(thank god ret paladins finally have CC).  I fear it is going to degrade the game back to the "know your roll or GTFO" BS that existed back in the day, oh the memories...

any "pure" class (DPS) has viable CC, where as all hybrids have the option to either tank/heal or sometimes both therefor a lot of them lack CC (well warriors anyway) Shamans, druids and paladins all have CC, hmm well DK's don't that I can think off, guess they are stuck on the tank category with warriors, but only time will tell...

LOL to say this you must really have sucked back in Vanilla wow to even MAKE this statment. and 2 GOOD! this Free loot system and spam 2 bottons system sucked. I for one HATED the WOTLK expack due to the easymode setting of the game. I loved Vanilla wow and yes even BC was great compaired to WOTLK. And the little that i have gotten to play with cata I am Loving it!. I love the fact that WOW is gonna start rewarding skilled players over noobs. and it should be that way.

Ok here is my Guess on the new Blizzard MMO. I know blizzard said that this will be something they have never done before. But I kinda think its gonna be a StarCraft MMO but with the play style of StarCraft Ghost!. Think about it how awesome would that be? They canceled Ghost cause they could not get get the game the way they wanted it. now they have the money and the experience to do so!

I saw in an interview that they are talking about adding Ambulation in ships after release. So im sure this will probley be something they add in the future.

IMHO, The reason why this game tanked is because the Lovely "INTELLEGENT" people at Mythic decided to make a "NEW" game with a 15+ year old engine. that is what destroyed this game.

I would love a Farscape MMO most of all .. and even more nerdy a Buffyverse MMO (yeah yeah, it appeals to my gen X sense of humor).  Maybe a Secret of N.I.M.H.?

I agree with the statement above... but I would love to see an MMO that is just completely out side of the box. Almost every MMO on the market playes the same as the next. I would like to see an MMO with maybe an advancement system like AOE. where u start out with sticks and stones and evolve over the years. so if you like more of a Fantasy Sword and bored MMO then join a guild focused on that. or if you want more of a modern feel join that guild. of if u want something Sci fi join a guild for that. you can have 3 different planets for it maybe. but maybe each planet needs eachother to survive but are connected some how.

Im just tired of the same games with a different color of paint.
