Thank you for the replies, sorry for the dead game part , but as an mmo player i know it is the best way to draw out mmo players.

 

the two serves that are busy i hope one will be virtue. this was me and the wifes server from launch and both have 2 50's but we have decide to buy two complete GR boxes and start fresh and new . part of the funs is gathering enough fund for power slots. Though the wife hated CoV i loved the whole villian thing and loved the robots . Question though is there a level i must be before i can start to come over to hero side to level with my wife new toon  ?

 

also thanks again the wife and i are looking to pass the time until Swtor comes out and She started talking What about RIFT..

The main item i was wondering , is there away to switch side now from cov to coh.  Like can i run a series of quest and take my favorite cov robots to the coh side and now be good and run quest with the heroes and well be a hero ?

 

 

Well i guess after the last few hours and no one has replied it tells me one thing . this game is dead.. time to really move on..

closed my account today also, nothing to do with pvp, just a bad boring game.. $40 and 1 payment of no fun  Owell moving on..

not sure why you are having a problem, i opened the launcher today and tried to log in it sent me stright to the soe login site to reset i  put in m log in name , old pass. new pass twice and hit enter then it said pass word reset, backed out and logged in  got a patch and playing now..

They need to get a better patcher i now can not patch it just times out and i refuse to use off site for patches i pay to play not search for the latest patch.. so dead game

yes, nice help joker. but i guess seeing your sig and you are a bigtime darkfall player we get more info on the people that play the game , another reason to pass on that mess..

This is just an exemple. If AV were to refund items to players whenever an issue happens, it would take quite a while to fix as many players would claim to have lost something. Having employees looking over every claims is the worse idea possible which is why the "No Refund" policy is here. As for crashes, usually whenever that happens there's a 45 minutes rollback from what I recall (There was one just yesterday I believe).

Or it could give players the feeling that AV cares about them and is willing to fix problems that they may or may not intentionally/unintentionally caused

And B1ght, you are blowing this out of proportion. The GM made a mistake and teleported the player. But why did the GM have to interact with the player in the first place is what we have not been told. Mistakes happens and this mistake by the GM was far from gamebreaking. It's unfortunate and Bill did not contact the Support (which may have fixed the issue). I'd be more likely to blame AV if the player had contact support, but it's not the case, he chose to QQ on the forum.

I don't think this is being blown out of proportion. The GM did make a mistake, but he made no effort to rectify the situation in the proper way. He should have went to a supervisor and told them the problem, and then they could escalate the problem to the proper team. Instead, the GM told him to "Go away, and fix it yourself"

As for contacting support? Yes, he should have immediately done that instead of making a scene. By making a scene, he only made it worse. As I said earlier, if he would have just followed procedure; even just to humor them, maybe they would have given his stuff back.

 

This part more then anything, the GM should have told him I will contact support and get your stuff back.. not O too bad so sad deal with it yourself....

I can only imagine playing in "item mall" game when you just don't have any money to spend. But if you have any, i can't understand why would a person, who is not retarded, buy items from item mall instead of paying a monthly fee and have an equal chance with every other character in that world.

Basically, F2P game is the competition of who can invest more real life money. Unless you don't care about competitiveness and play just to see a game world.

what F2p game sells more powerful weapons in the item shop ??? i would really like to see this game.. most just sell fluff items or xp potions . tell me all the f2p games the you can buy epic armor and weapons in the cash shop..i mean the items the beat as you say any you can grind for in-game..

SOE is strange about what they call new acct. trial is not new . but if you drop the CE on your old acct then yes all is fine. you will not get any extra time  ( the 30 days ) and strange the fact that if you drop it on any account not just made ( trial also ) you loose the thirty days free.

My point is that FFA PVP isnt what the game is focusing on. Look for tools for building a world more than how easy you can gank someone.

this really sounds good, i think if those hardcore pvp people want RL game play then if you are caught killing they should lock your toon in a cage for so much in-game time week or two, and you can not play until time is up or you can kill yourself and make a new toon. now that is hardcore.. i think i choose carebear style .......

1 the game is soooo easy you have to do something to keep the fun

2 WoW looks like a cartoon and the night elves look like bugs bunny so the hopping

So whats the big issue then? People i am addressing is the people who want to hit space bar to jump anywhere anytime (free jump). I absolutly have no problem with controlled jumping, example walk up ta a cliff and a little icon pops up to show you that your at a jumping/climbing spot. Like I said previously ffxi had that sort of jumping style like that with the gysers. I think its probably safe to say there might be stuff like that, in ffxiv. When people argue for jumping they are arguing for free jump, I dont think youll find any anti-jump argument from any of the ffxiv fans on this site about controlled jumps (certian spots only).

I think the best compromise would be a dodge or dash maneuver skills that allows you to jump or maneuver that uses endurance or mana or whatever - so people won't be spamming it endlessly for no reason- I would take that over a "you can only jump right here "mechanic. But the issue is, as I've always stated, player freedom. I think it's unnecessarily (key word there) restrictive.


Your asking for a jump that actually does something yet I don't recall many MMOs that have a jump function the works beyond the purpose of jumping up and down. Its frustrating that you insist that ffxiv must have some form of jumping or its a crappy game when jumping is such a small part of the game play, granted the ability to use a dodge or dash skill to avoid an attack and making combat more skill based would be awesome, however that isn't jumping, they have their own adjectives for a reason.

2. I never once insisted FFXIV must have a jump. I think ALL MMOs should promote some basic personal freedoms, jump being one. If the developers don't ultimately include it, I won't parade around insisting they add it - that is ultimately their choice (and I think as evident by this discussion - a bad choice considering people do want it, and it doesn't directly effect people who don't want it if it was in game). I think if they were smart and competitive, they would add it.

3. Jumping a small part of gameplay? That my friend, is a personal opinion and not a fact. For a lot of people mobility (including jump) is a HUGE part of gamplay.

2. From this discussion i see a lot of people who don't care either way or would prefer not to have any form of jumping at all. Again is it really competitive to implement a jumping system that doesn't go beyond hoping up and down. And your already insisting that they add it by encouraging beta testers to suggest it. 

3. Jumping IS a small part of gameplay. Peroid. Can you fight a boss without jumping? Yes. Can you complete quests without jumping? Yes. Can you get form point a to point b without jumping? Yes! Mobility is the state of being in motion, i'd consider running and walking an essential part of gameplay, jumping not so much

Now put the word Running in there , hmm you can still do all this well, and to be true  we do walk most of the time. Running all the time seems to break the true rpg of an mmo.  jumping is like by many as is running.

Trying it now, but the UI and the crap res setting of  1152 x 864 looks bad and that is the best you can get and on a 24 inch mont. ouch . music is ok, more like ff3 but the ui is killing me .. but trying it all the same..

Does anyone know if they have a housing system.

Hmm, maybe because they are the ones that choose the people for counselors. when i send in my app to a department head does not mean i get their job....

Of all the Star Trek episodes what percentage would you say does the Enterprise, Defiant  or Voyager have a fleet with it? I would say it would be a safe bet the number would be less than 10%. The vastness of space and the need to cover so much area and exploration necessitates that the ships and thier crews be able to operate for extended periods of time solo.

Take this even a step further, when a ship in the show needed help it was typically hours away and they seldom had a choice at what kind of ship would respond.

Now I am not saying it was a pruposeful design decision but I am saying that it actually goes to capturing the feel of Star Trek.

I guess to keep this fair , the server should check everyones FPS ( not everyone can get 100gb/sec ) so poor billy who runs his through his phone line gets about 15fps, then the server should lower all to the lowest person.. it's only fair :)
