Yeah i will say if your trying to get into playing EQ play on the Mayong server. Yeah u prolly wont know what ur doing for the first few days but if u ask someone im sure they will help. Just beware alot of EQ players are playing multiple accounts so if one person doesnt respond dont be dishearted ask another.

edit: mayong is the 51/50 server and dont spend ur AA's also other then on Inniate regen/run. you will not get any good AA's till 55.

Obviously you're the one in la la land if you think every other game forces you to pay before advancing past a TUTORIAL. What part of the Tutorial is supposed to help me decide if I want to buy the game? The part where you walk around talking to NPCs for that fabled stitched leather shirt and to learn commands? Also, what part of a 14 day trial lets you magically reach a level higher than... 30?

Everquest trial is just like the Vanguard Trial. You get 10 levels then you have to choose. Idiocy to see this well established type of trial from big mmo companies is standard. This isn't  a html mmo. If you couldnt figure out if u like the game after the first 10 then you are definatly not ready to play eq.

 I do understand the point in the OneSided contract just if this guy had any vility almost all gaming/software companies would have lawsuits out the arse that they have already lost. Only in a few circumstances has anyone even won a case or even had a judge accept the case.

An EULA is a contract.  Contracts can be disputed.  If it gets to court then a court will decide on a case by case basis if that contract is valid and fair.
Laws vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction as well.

You can dispute the contract all you want but at the end of the day your not going to win. If they dont want you they dont have to have you. The only problem right now with SoE's EULA on MMO's are they tell you the contract after u paid in which the only way i can see you possible winning is if SoE declined to give u a refund. Its like this, I go into a resturant i act up I'm going to be thrown out of the establishment then I'm not going to ever be able to come back period. Don't act a fool and you won't get banned.

Yeah you can say that again. All you can buy is general abilities, and archetype and the new spell gem starts at 55. Still, the bigger attraction is having a prelevelled character, which is pretty good apart from if you choose a spell-class and then you have a mess of a spellbook organization to sort out.

 

Nope there is no more spell book sorting now in EQ. You can just right-click the spell slot and u will get a list and  u just pick from which type of spell u want to load. so there is no more need for spell book other then to put ur new spells in em.

Yes, the population is spread out, but I didn't have too many issues finding groups. And besides, the one part of EQ that I hated back in the day was siting around for literally HOURS not being able to do shite because I couldn't get a group. At least in Vanguard you don't get stuck doing nothing. You can still do quests and such, and they're not all easy-mode stuff. So not only do you continue to progress, but you also get a sense of accomplishment.

well all the quests worth doing in Vanguard need groups. All the solo ones are boring.

no offense but EQ has a bigger population then Vanguard. Dont get me wrong its worth a try but unfortunetly there are more people also on trial island then there is on the main land aswell. I resubd to Vanguard a couple months back had no problems getting groups on the island soon as i left all i could hear was the sounds of crickets as no one was around to group anymore. i like to solo dont get me wrong but when i want to group i like to too and your just not able to do so in VSOH.

 New server is live since yesterday and i have to say it was almost a good idea. You will have every skill maxed that is releated to combat and some other skills like BEGGING are maxed. who has ever maxed begging? Every spell for casters. So i loaded up and went to the 50 level hot zone PoI to be blessed with 80+ people in zone training and making sure havoc was running wild throughout the zone. Lets just say i died by good ole JUNKBEAST due to a train then finally a group of people took him out. Is the server worth anything.. yeah it will be the catalyst to get every server 51/50 option i believe but it will soon have to rely on people who already have maxed toons on other servers which will return to them after they have had there fill on the new server.

 the employees dont care cuz there will be at least 200k people retarded enough to buy this game when it comes out at launch for 50 big ones. 10 million dollars will help pay the employees so they are not worried one bit. Can u said Vanguard?!

 The problem with Vanguard isn't the content its the lack of people. If everyone today who purchased back when the game launched said frack it and signed up the game would undoubtly be growing now. But right now the game is fun for a few weeks then u start to see less and less more people around u so u end up abandoning the game because its a MMO not a MSPO (massive single player online). I try to go back every year see how its doing but i end up only geting about 2 weeks of entertainment out of that comeback tour. The game wont die, just look at MXO and Planetside. But it will never and i mean never shine in the spot light do to what happened at launch.

 dont you get it, 51/50 won because there is NO ONE TO MAINTAIN A PROGRESSION SERVER. SoE has all but fired or the team has left because they get hammered due to the fact that there is NO SUPPORT for the game. They have a small team and there is no one to maintain a progression server with the existing servers and SoE would be damned if they hired someone new. So that is why you will never see a progression server why u will never see a classic server why you will never see any new server coming out of SoE's camp that isn't similar to the servers in place.

 Funny thing i read this and it only furthers my rage with the devs of mmo's. To each question that needs improvement on the game the dev says We dont have the Resources to impliment that. So what does SoE only have 2 guys fixing bugs for this game or is vanguard dead and people who play it should seek another mmo???
