First, as a few others have stated, was Never Winter Nights (AOL). It was, in the begining, $6.00 an hour (on top of your AOL subscritpion)... and we liked it. Eventualy though, it did become simply part of the AOL subscritption and the hourly rate went away... and we all rejoiced. PVP? Yeah, if you were a spell caster... melee, you were out of luck. Hence the most popular class combo was a maxed out Mage/Cleric. Me? I played a maxed out Paladin/Mage, just to be different. Graphics... heh, look them up. Loved that game... A bunch of us actualy kept it going, in spirit, after the game shut down by having a play by post set up. Then the NWN game came out and there is a guy that hosts an AOL NWN server. I tried it, and he did a good job with it... but it's just not the same. From there... too many to bother listing. |

City of Heroes: Super Booster V: Mutant Giveaway! First Come, First Served!

Seriously, I know they are literate because they are managing to post words on the screen, so that can't be their excuse. So are all these people still asking for codes simply idiots or are they trying to be annoying? |

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Hands On With the Smuggler
News Discussion « General Discussion 6/22/10 2:05:51 AM
Originally posted by TARDISjunkie I played Galaxies, and I played a smuggler who smuggled things... Now, that being said I was not very far into the smuggler "tree". I was mostly pistoleer and Tera Kasi (sp? it's been a while), with just enough smuggler tree for a couple of fun abilities. My skills did not make my a smuggler, my actions did. I was a mover a goods from planet to planet. I was a supplier for doctors, cooks, etc. I smuggled the finest hides, meats, weapons, brandy and whatever else would make me money on the market. Unfortunately with this iteration of Star Wars I have the feeling that the "smuggler" will just be a clearly defined class who fights a certain way and dosen't really smuggle much of anything except for very specific quest related items. |

You do not need to sign petitions and ask for pointless apologies in order to make your point. There is only one way to effect any real change in this industry and that is by withholding what the company you are upset with most desires... your money. If you are upset about the state of the game at launch and feel they lied to you, stop playing. It's that simple. If enough people feel the same way they will quit paying for the game as well. Usually though enough will still subscribe to keep the game afloat, at least for a little while. Really though, does this matter? If you are no longer paying for the game then it no longer affects you. Simple, quick, and efficient protest... /cancel It is how I have been protesting my displeasure with the gaming industry for years. They act stupid and make idiotic changes/decisions regarding the game then they get no more money from me. Do others continue to pay them? Of course they do, but I don't. I'm not out to change the face of the gaming industry, I'm just out to see that it doesn't change me. I'm also not one of those people (and I know many) who HAVE to play an online game and will continue to subscribe to one they no longer enjoy just because there is "nothing better". If there is "nothing better" stop playing, pretty simple isn't it? Bottom line is this, protest the only way that makes a real difference... with your wallet. |
