Yes - go go LOTRO

Keep on playing music to "heal" ppl and wonder why you dont have 10 million subscribers.

Moral system is the BIGGEST mistake any MMO game has made

No !!! Im not playing a class that has to play music to keep the moral up

And Im NOT gonna take part in battles where I have to listen to crappy MUSIC to progress

How much of a lore is that???

Are you retarded? Moral is the same damn thing as health, just with a different name. To say that would to say that 'health' is the biggest mistake World of Warcrap made. Trust me, WoW has made bigger mistakes. I would also like to add that it's more lore accurate than magic, and that music can indeed improve moral in reality. Why the hell do you think there was war drums back 1.5 thousand years ago? Why did you post this here anyway?

Edit: As 100000000000000 other people have said, subscribers means nothing about the quality of an MMO. I don't see Turbine worrying about not having 10 million subs either.

I know how to make WoW expansions:

1. Add 5,000 more HP and mana.

2. Go into WoW folder.

3. Create a folder with the expansion name.

4. Switch files around in that folder.

5. Add new colors to the environment folder.

And there you have it! A WoW expansion!

P.S. Like I said in the past 1,000 threads, WoW is some unchallenging bullcrap ruled by 10 year olds who own your ass if you don't have better equipment.

I'm looking for an RP forum with it's own world and history rather than a bunch of different themed RP threads. Are there any somebody would recommend? I need a break from this search-for-an-RP-MMO bullcrap.

Just kidding. Anyway, having not read the rest of the thread (I had to quote this post, sorry), I can (not) safely say this: WoW's graphics suck, the 10 hour raids are retarded (seriously, what fun do you get out of being screamed at by some asshole over vent because you accidentally click the wrong mob or spell?), the PvP sucks (why is capturing a flag in a small box of an instance fun again? How does it benefit the factions even?). It's like a fraggin disney movie.

Just my $0.02

Lol... not complex... tehehe...

Asian mmorpgs arent complex. WoW has a lot of complexity if your dealing with hard content, high end pvp, mod making.

There is a lot to wow, with talent builds, gear setups. Gemming, enchanting, consumables.

in PvP you have many, many combinations and strats in the arena.
There is a lot to it. Its easy to pick up, but it takes knowledge and something between your ears before you can expect to be good. 10 hour raids? If your doing those with any regularity, thats just a bad guild. I have the same response about the screamed at over vent.

I can honestly say Ive never experienced any of that. As well I am a hardcore theory man, using mathmatical models and such to steer myself in the right direction gear wise/talent wise.
Honestly I find WoW to have one of the most complex systems for gearing up/skilling up your character.

Or better yet, just use the same build as every other idiot who plays your class.

Or you could make the game that simple... or you could take it a step further and figure things out for yourself. I play a warlock, and people constantly laugh at my build, that is untill they raid or group with me.

If you only want to play it simply. Play with the cookie cutter build, get the cookie cutter gear. Form the cookie cutter group, and play. Its got as much depth as you want to put into it.

WoW is a cookie cutter MMO period. Whether you have a good build or not, anybody with better gear will beat you, unless your build is so awesome, that it makes you unbeatable, in which case everybody will try to get that build.

Despite Mythos' poor graphics, it might have good gameplay. For this reason, I might give it a try if it will have an RP community.

Who says its good?  Certainly not me.  I think a more appropriate question is - what makes it so popular?  That's the big question.  Actually, I think I already know why.

10 Million people and every professional critic.  Actually they describe it as excellent or outstanding=)  Its popular because its better than good.  Quite simple actually.

Are we going to get in to a debate about what popularity represents? Nazism was popular, drug addiction is popular, the spice girls are popular, teenage pregnancy is popular.... WoW was and is a game aimed at the masses, it's that simple. It is aimed at your average teenager, it's not complex, it's not challenging and it's easy to get in to. Tick, tick, tick.

WOOO Drugs!!!

Being a D&D player, I have hopes that D&D Insider (the online D&D you mentioned) will be a good bet. The problem is, will many people play it? I hear a lot of people bitching about the subscription price (it'll probably be that of an MMO) a lot on their forums.

Edit: Gillvane, theres a lot of that in MMOs too. I'm tired about hearing how your (not Gillvane's) character is a half-demon half-vampire half-cat woman from space that wants to cyber with everything.

Every MMO I've played so far has sucked my left nut, except for a few (now dead) games such as SWG and DAoC. Now I'm looking for RP, unfortunately not only are SWG and DAoC dead, but so is the RP in every game out there. When will this tide of crappy games come to a grinding halt? Why do everquest 2 players repeatedly tell me to log back onto EQ2 for RP, when every RP guild on the most RP-active server (Antonia Bayle) has like 0-2 people on at a time? Game suggestions are nice, but don't suggest a game thats crap and say "OMGZ AWESUM RPZERZ!". By crap, I mean crappy RP community. Sorry, if the RP community isn't active, I won't touch it.

Being a reader of the warhammer 40k novels (I currently own 'let the galaxy burn', fifteen hours, and desert raiders and plan on picking up the Gaunt's ghosts series), I'll definitely be playing the crap out of it most likely.

This is why I've got into tabletop RPing recently. I have hopes for warhammer online though. It seems to have an already well established RP community. I recall the developers stating that WAR will be a good place for roleplayers.

I need a free MMORPG with RP in it to play with my GF whom I recently hooked up with. It should probably not be too hard to get into. Thanks in advance.

Okay...

What part of the graphics was ripped from WoW? The graphics are totally different, WoW's graphics being shit, Warhammer's graphics being up to date with technology.

Is it because it's generic fantasy? That has nothing to do with graphics. It's the GENRE! Not the GRAPHICS! And if you think War is ripping off of WoW because it's generic fantasy, go read the warhammer tabletop strategy game wiki. Google it yourself. Warhammer has been in existence since '83. Warcraft being created around 10 years later.

KTHXBAI.

I just don't get why people get offended when you compare the game to WOW because this game has obviously taken alot from WOW and that isn't such a bad thing as it is the greatest mmorpg ever made in terms of subscribers.

Most mmorpgs are copying things from WOW now just like WOW taken things from EQ and other games.

What part of WoW was taken by WAR? The cartoony graphics? The crappy instanced PvP that isn't persistent in any way and changes nothing for either side? The 7 hour raids you go on to get better equipment just so you can go to an 8 hour raid?

It's just the suttle things from like the starting areas to how the basic mechanics of the game work and how the quest system works and character creation etc etc. Even EQ2 and SWG have both since tried to copy WOW and the way ti does things, like go to a new starting area of EQ2 and see how badly it copies WOW even with the indication things above quest givers.

OH MY GOT ARROW KEYS TO MOVE?! This game is a WoW clone!

To add to that, WoW has the one of the most half-assed character creation aspects I've seen in MMOs. EQ2 happens to have among the best character creation I've seen. Also, quests have been around since everquest, even before that probably.

I'm a dude but I'll try getting a pic of just the nose ring. It's small so it's hard to see from too far away :)

I got a late 14th birthday present: A nose stud. I got it at a tattoo place near a mall and it cost $40. It hurt like a bitch when they put it in.
