Just letting you know that the letters do have responses, and even if someone wrote in a similar question, the devs were nice and answered each of you, and we will post each of your letters with the dev responses soon. Some of them are already up now:)

Thank you all for your letters:)

It wasn't a matter of picking certain questions/letters because all letters were sent in so all letters received an answer. This was only a few of the letters sent in out of a handful of people who wrote in. The rest will be posted with their answers. We didn't just pick certain letters to have them be answered. We gave all players the opportunity to write a letter to the devs and have their letter answered. The devs were given the list of letters, and they could have chose to not answer repeated questions or any of them for that matter, but they were nice in answering all of them, even if the question had been asked before. They could have skipped repeated, but they were great in replying to everyone. I think it was great of them to give each player that wrote to them a reply.

And I have played EQ2 since release btw:) I didn't exclude any letters because this wasn't an interview where we chose certain questions. This was an opportunity for players to write to the devs and have their letters responded to, all of them, not only certain ones we picked out.

Keep checking back to see more PLAYER letters and the developer responses to those letters:)

Also keep an eye out for furture opportunities to write your own letters=)

These EXACT questions were asked and answered about 3,000 times on the official EQ2 forums (which is accesible to non paying customers)

You guys should have looked there first before asking those questions.

I posted on the huge thread on the graphical issue and in particular the 8800 issue. The Devs never could come up with much answer or help for that matter. They pointed a finger at Nvidia, and Nvidia pointed back at them. The interesting fact is the main 8800 "lag" issue mainly only happens in EQ2. I have yet to see it in any other game. In any event it seems by their above answer they are still blaming Nvidia, they did say they "fixed" something on their end. But we all have to still sit around for Nvidia to update their fix on the next driver release. Who knows which release it will include, or if it even exists. I will say one thing, after spending a ton on a nice system with dual 8800's, quad core and a bunch of other tech EQ2 will never use its pretty depressing, but seeing it actually make the game all laggy and crapped up is disheartening.

The Devs answered this specific issue NUMEROUS times on the official forums. Hell, one even joked about it. They said recoding the engine for it to work on a dual or quad core system would require so much work in recoding everything that they minus well make an Everquest 3 because of the sheer amount of manpower needed to execute this.

They answered that a LOT. On the official forums whenever someone brings this question up, someone inevitably links a dev response.

I do agree with you. They need to fix A LOT of things in EQ2, but my main point of this thread is that these are questions that have been answered hundreds of times (maybe not hundreds...but dozens) by the developers and tech support.

Maybe MMORPG.com should have reviewed these questions and picked out ones that the Devs never answered. As a Senior Guide for Everquest 2, I know quite a few issues that the DEVs never really tackled in the official forums.  But to be all fair, the last question was a good one as many DEVs like to skirt that issue with low quality loot in older zones.

Again... we did not just choose specific questions. We sent in ALL letters that were sent to us, so it was not a matter of sending in ones that were never answered. We cannot control what players ask, and we only gave players the opportunity to write a letter to the devs and have those letters answered. Again, everything that was sent to us was sent in.  All letters were answered. More will be posted soon.

Again, these were not questions asked by MMORPG.COM. These were letters submitted by the community and for the community. All letters were submitted.

I submitted all questions that were sent to me within a reasonable time after the request. The devs were great and answered all of them, so more letters will be posted:) Keep checking back:)

Thanks again SOE for taking the time to write back to the players!

The developers really seem like they care about this game, and EA/Mythic doesn't give the feeling they are just trying to push it out asap to make a few quick bucks. I think this game is going to be huge, and it is going to give the current MMOs a run for their money, and new MMOs something new to look up to.

Submissions are still being taken. Thanks to all of you who have written. All letters/questions are welcome as long as they are constructive, nicely written, and not an outright attack or flame.

Thanks again:)

MMORPG is happy to announce a new project called, "Dear Devs". Have all your Everquest II questions answered! If you would like to write a letter to the Everquest II developers with the opportunity to receive a reply direct from the developers themselves, please send your letters and questions to adele@mmorpg.com . Please include "Letter to the Devs" in the subject line.

*Note- All letters will be given careful consideration. Not all letters will receive a reply. Letters will be hand selected and submitted by MMORPG.com to the Everquest II development team. Please continue to watch the site to see if your letter was answered.

No one said this is a new race:) This is the start of a series that will eventually showcase each playable race in Norrath:)

Ah, yes. I remember when illusions were so cool. Being a conj, I couldn't wait to get my air illusion, and the group golem. Running through Varsoon and scaring people! haha! Good times.

I used to always look forward to the fun spells. I wonder why they quit putting them in?

I just started playing this myself with the free trial and I am loving the game! Good write up!

Very good read! Although it does sound a lot like what the Hero's Journey team says they are doing. I guess we will have to wait and see who gets their game out first!

I think this is great. The PotBS dev team is fantastic, and the game looks to be great! With a big company like SoE backing them, it is sure to be a success.

Nice site:)
I think there is going to be a captains quarters as well:)
I think a well planned out guild is important to the enjoyment of the game:)
I would like to see Dragonlance as an mmo:) A movie would be nice too:)
That is very true! Part of our guild policy is to respect even our enemies:) But I think it isn't too far fetched for for order and destruction guilds to become friendly enemies and chose the same server:)

LOL

We shall see you on the battlefield!

Guild Vanaheim is now recruiting and looking for mature men and women to join our ranks! We are located in the U.S., but if you are from the EU and plan on buying the american version you are welcome to join us.

Vanaheim is a home for gamers of all play styles and all levels. We are a multi game guild spanning the world of MMO's. We are dedicated to our members, and will provide them with a place to communicate and live with updated information on all games that our guild is participating in. If you would like to be part of a guild that values its members and realizes that guild is spelled t-e-a-m, contact us @ www.guildvanaheim.com or vanaheim@charter.net

We will be a guild of Order. All good races are welcome to join us. We are a brand new guild and are looking for members that wish to be a part of a team, and are willing to work together in a family oriented setting. We also require our members to chose a name that is fitting to the game.

We do not discriminate against age as we have found that age is not always a factor in maturity, but it is more of a persons mind set. After viewing our site if you feel like we are a fit for you and you a fit for us we would love to have you as a member of our guild.
