I tought first that I go Enforcer and bring your criminal asses to check by bullet in the forehead. But since you all seem to be going and hide behind badge, I'll just have to go Criminal and rocked laucher you whitout any excuse.

1. Is quite clearly single player game. It may could be multiplayer quest on some mmog if it would be altered a little. (Like group of people in same group would recieve hints and such. And they would have to go around world to check clues. And at some point they would be able to put the thing together as team.)

1. Wasnt there some mmog called agency or something like that?

2.3. Theres a game on facebook called Real Estate. You buy and sell stuff there and the prices change from time to time. Theres also some way to affect the prices with somekind of cartels. (It was very boring.)

2.3. I think there was somekind of Sim City style mmog in the making somewhere. Lost the link so I dont know what happened to it. I think it hasnt been released yeat. The sims serie producers are looking forward to repeat their success in this area I'm sure.

- All in all you are pretty much describing games that are more "simulators" than post their results online. They could be mmog's I guess, like football manager online but bigger. Honever they usually need somekind of "empire building" and "teaming up" to full online games.

- I like your idea on number 1. It could bring something new to the mmog genre where leveling is now pretty much killing npc monsters. (In my oppinion this has gone backwards. I had an agent in anarchy online and I used to sneak past the instance to kill the boss > assasination and then run out.)  I think future / scifi mmogs could use new approach to questing / leveling / gaining money. But I doubt it stands alone as such.

I second Eve Online...

While Eve is one of the most cruel pvp games around. It is also on league of its own when it comes to player driven economy and grafting.

I think Aion was the second biggest mmo in Asia last year. Biggest was still WoW. Both of them where way ahead of all others.

In europe Aion wasnt lauched yeat but theres big subscriber numbers posted this year. I'm quessing Aion will take the 2nd biggest mmo place worldwide for 2010.

Eve Online isnt even near those two but it holds nicely when you compare it to other space or scifi mmos.

Positive.

They may have not broken boundries when it comes to game mechanics but they delivered.

Better can of beans in the table than undelivered promices of steak.

"8. No skills, experience or levels. "

Bingo!

Lesson number one, how NOT to write a MMO.

If you don't have skills or experience or some way to measure character development you don't have a MMO, all you have a fancy FPS game.

All I can say about this game is, remind everyone to avoid it like the plague!

Your lesson fails in many levels.

I started playing ao before the lauch of ai expancion.

I'm now playing wow and eve online and looking for replacement for wow.

Since I saw what funcom support is like I will never pay for another funcom game again. I also watched some of the other new mmorpg's that are coming out and I have to say that they really suck. It seems that new mmorpg's are wow clones these days and I would really hope that someone would develob new scifi mmorpg.

Funny things in new games and ao:

GnH minion system - ao metaphysics minions (whole game based on "new" minions and controlling them?)
WW open air pvp area - ao tower wars (ao version not as pretty but the consept is the same)
?? player housing - ao player rooms (havent seen this around in new games, still ao has it)
?? guild housing - ao guild city (this should be in every game, still ao implemented it quite early)
wow scorge invasion - ao alien invasion (both had suprice raids on cities)
instance end boss raids - ao alien invasion factional raids (both are eaqually hard to get good loot)
wow 30 000 quests & storylines  - ao mission booths that give infinite amount (both are equally boring)

It seems that funcom has all these nice consepts and they fail to deliver them so that they would be the next big thing.

I'm not gonna touch another funcom game. I player ao for 2 years and all the good memories i have from it are player produced and all the bad are company produced.

Zarobien:
64 solitus agent (cookie cutter, rerolled)
102 solitus enforcer (cookie cutter, rerolled)
206 solitus adventurer (cookie cutter, quitted)

Sienne:
84 solitus doctor (weak healer, rerolled)
134 nanomage doctor (aggro magnet, quitted)

I think they where going with really passive type of combat and they are now reconsidering and redoing it.

1) what starting attributes to choose for going to War?

2) how long will I have to carry/haul cargo before I get to do real pvp?

3) How long will it take me to grind up a ship that I will have a decent fighting chance with? What is the name of this ship?

4) What corps should I look into I will need the help of others to begin my plans for universal dominance (no- not BoB wanna join an underdog thats gonna take it to them or get involved in some other smaller skirmishes)

1. Theres many success stories. Minmatar gunships and Galente drone ships seems to be popular ones for solo pvp (pirating).
- Fighter Attributes in order: Perception, Will Power, Inteligence, Memory, Charisma.

2. Probably not at all. You should shoot the npc pirates for money if you plan to take good fighter skills.

3. Within few months you can get to assault ship and have enough skills to shoot new players. The older players will shoot you down for few years in the areas you hunt the new players (you are their new player).

4. Try to find some pvp corps academy and join it. They will teach you what you need and some help with new ships and stuff aswell. Most likely you wont be shooting bob in long long time but you never know.
You can play ao for free but it has another side of coin on it...

1. You get funcom mail constantly about upgrading to SL and AI... When you do you will have to pay monthly fee and you cant go back.
2. The SL and AI account owners have skills called perks that make them stronget than you... You will be the ball in pvp football.
For me the best part was the tower battles, ai raids and player owned cities.

It's one of the worst mmog's I played in my life But there was few nice ideas in that game that should be installed in new games.

Futher more the new games should not be upkept by funcom. Thats worst (absent) customer service ever.
I agree... The mmorpg's hae so much players that it would be good to have lots of customable options... It's kind of anoying to bump into look-a-like every 30 minutes.
I wouldnt go as far as be able to be fully naked but there could be some sexier clothes/armor for charecters instead of the same old sacks you get on every mmorpg.

Would fit to this game as the players are divine childs and as we all know divine childs have tentency to look impressive.
