This has only been the definition of "exploit" since MMO's started.

When you can do something you know you shouldn't be able to do its called a "bug".   This is why they have that little ? thing you can click on to report those.   Doing this same action a few times to confirm its something that can be repeated won't get you banned.   Doing it for days... hours per day.. is going to get you banned.

Even someone with almost no comprehension of logic should know that you should not be able to spawn infinite loot or obtained infinite credits... for pretty much doing nothing.

How do you think faulty programming gets fixed?   Someone discovers it... and reports it.

Once upon a time in Dark Age of Camelot someone discovered that if you deleted certain files... you could walk right into a keep.

One night I was playing on Nimue I believe it was and a message went up that the forces of Albion had captured a relic.   This was rather odd because none of us knew there was a relic raid and back then... you needed a very large sieze force to even attempt such a thing.   We knew the fort had never been under siege as well...

Well what do you think happened to the person(s) that did that?   Oh right they got banned.

You shouldn't be able to delete files off your hard drive and walk through a fortress either.   Yet pretty much anyone with the slightest bit of intellegence  would know not to do it...  or that if they did do it they were going to be banned.

Anyone involved in this should be perma banned.   If they are not perma banned... then players do have a right to be pissed at EA/Bioware.

This.

Some people are so mentally blind it is ridiculous. Nothing like people with the mindset of the high schoolers nowadays.

Hey guys. It's me.

I didn't read anyones posts because I really don't care about any of your opinions, but here is mine after years of playing MMORPGs.

I racked up a total played time of 1 day and 10 hours in the past few days, and I must say this game really feels like it's missing something for an MMO and RPG. I have really been trying to put my finger on it but I just can't, so I will list what I believe just doesn't feel right in the game.

First of all even though most of the world isn't instanced it feels like I am playing the star wars version of guild wars. You might laugh at this, but it feels nothing like what EQ and UO did when I started playing them. Everything is way too "tracked" and "linear" - I understand it goes with the story, but that isn't a selling point for me.

The gameplay feels very clunky. I am not talking bug wise, I mean just the "flow" of combat and the game in general. It just doesn't feel right...it almost reminds me of FFIV. Even after messing with most of the settings the targeting system makes me cringe and I find it hard to find which mob I am targeting when they are in large groups (PVP as well).

The crafting...dear god... where to start? I hate being pigeonholed into a few certain fields and being limited on what I can gather or create in a certain amount of time, not to mention increasing in time later on. Why can't my gathering/creating be based upon a community of friends that I have built? (much like in SWG where you would have friends with extractors and the guys who actually crafted with no limit but the people themselves and what they could get their hands on).

PVP. Because having a character with 1 talent point play with characters that have full trees and experience playing the game is smart. My first 10 Warzones were complete massacres. No one on the team worked together despite every effort. I have won 1 the whole time I have played, and I am tired of playing huttball.

The UI. I hate it. Why can I not modify each individual element to my liking? Why is my companions bar locked? granted this will probably be addressed later it is a nuisance right now.

The community. I can't stand half the kids playing this game. I rarely run into someone who is mature. I just got a headache typing about this, you can see for yourself if you play.

The Global Trade Network (whatever the name is of the broker/auction house system). The search function it uses is garbage, I have constantly ran into problems with it and hate getting forced to make choices of item type when I just want to search a name I know already.

Being overseas also made purchasing the game a real pain in the ass, and EAs Origin system is garbage. I had the worst time ever getting the digital copy online. All of the FAQs to find the product key on EAs website were out of date and when I finally bypassed the regional block I had to wait 5 hours for the key to get to my inbox.

I am not going to mention any of the obvious bugs like disconnecting while changing zone instance or players getting stuck because it is so new.

The only things I really liked about this game are: The jawa companion bounty hunter gets, the modding system for items, and star wars.

In all this game was an extreme letdown for me. Like other players I was expecting an SWG 2 type game, but this is not even close and I know I shouldn't have had my expectations so high.

tl;dr

Gentlemen-- look no further this is the future of MMORPGs, and it makes me sad.

come at me grammar/spelling nazis.

AOD is not adding any adventure content, but if you want to play a beastlord, will need to buy it

but if you want to play a beastlord

FUARRRKKKKKK. I might just re-install to play BL.

I actually liked tabula rasa too.... so much potential...

It's time for innovation.  We must leave behind the keyboard and mouse and embrace motion capture input.  Instead of right-clicking the mouse to swing a sword, move your body as if swinging a sword.  Instead of pressing "3" to cast a spell, wave your arms and use your voice to shoot a fireball.  Until we are using ourselves as input devices nothing fundamentally has changed, and we are still playing the same tired formula with a different name.

Am I crazy, or is this the future of MMORPGs you want as well?

lol clicked the dawntide link and my NOD32 said the page was listed to have dangerous content.

skills / classes with no cap.

lol..FoM has some good memories with my friends. I remember there were a lot of us waiting to start a mission in a corridor and we led some unsuspecting guy down the hall and in a small area then owned him took all his stuff then ran back and acted like nothing happened lol. good times.

I rage quit SWG when the NGE came out...

you forgot runescape has a terrible field of view.... its trying to be 3d but its isometric with not enough zoomout

Dark eden? its like vampires vs vampire hunters...played it a very long time ago

Closest I can think of is Guild Wars (Necro/Ranger) with a pet wolf or Age of Conan (necro) you can get a wolf pet. Both only one wolf though sorry. Only game you can make your toon look like that is CoV, but only have zombies, demons, robots, thugs, ...i know im forgetting one, but its not wolves.

ninjas

I thought WoW was the first and only MMO...

OMG I cant wait for the 40k MMO. I will be a Grey Knight and everyone else can be Ork.

omg Scarlet Johansson ._. do want!

I use to play that game...But I still don't like that someone who obviously lied was put into a position as GM.

The best part and the part where everyone in the theater went crazy was when zeus said he should be alone :)

I remember most of you...but you wont remember me. As I am more of a lurker...

when I think 2004 I think SWG everything else was moot.

Carebear is a term much like others made in the past by humans to try and down someone else. That is the real answer.
