Playing it with a 580GTX card and don't seem to have those issue's you speak of , doesn't mean those issue's do not happen to other people, just means they aint happening to me. Also there has been a patch released that seems to have fixed some issue's I only read about and didn't experiane myself. |

Games to play while waiting for your next big MMO
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/19/11 1:14:55 PM
Currently playing Deus Ex HR, Dead Island, Tropico 4, CoJ The Cartel. But switching all the time between them and very little time to play actually. But not really waiting for my next big MMO as I don't see anything coming yet, though I bet I will be playing/buying a few of the new upcoming MMO's, but they don't fancy me in the way I want a MMORPG to atract me, but they still can turn out to be fun never the less. |

Are tablets and browser games killing the gaming industry or is it the corporate slave drivers?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 9/05/11 11:43:12 PM
Originally posted by sk8deshi The gaming industry is bigger then ever, yes there are more games available then ever, we have all sorts of mediums that can carry games now. It is called supply by demand, meaning many new people into games are used to new type of mediums more so then maybe some people like OP. PC gaming isn't going anywhere with brands like AMD and Nvidia, Asus and then some...but there is a hugh demand on more then just pc games and that is what's been delivered. The industry is actually keeping up with technology advancement unlike OP who seems not able to keep up with it. The gaming industry does face some major new challenges with all those new mediums they can place games on. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6320350/gametech-2011-state-of-the-games-industry http://www.theesa.com/facts/pdfs/ESA_EF_2011.pdf http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/20/us-gamescom-germany-idUSTRE77J0XQ20110820 So NO OP tablets are not killing the gaming market they actually expand the gaming market, it aint greed it's supply on demand. Shame some people do not inform themselfs with actuall facts. This doesn't mean that people can't dislike how the gaming industry is working right now but making make believe topics doesn't make much sense. |

Wow has 11 million subs? not a chance...
General Discussion « World of Warcraft 9/02/11 11:55:21 PM
Just curious OP as to why you care so much about WoW's sub numbers, it's not like anyone is able to play with lets say 11 mil. people, it's not even possible to play with 1 mil people at the same time and knowing them. So why are some so intrested in sub numbers, obviously they want a game to play that has people in it, but seriously making a topic to debunk WoW sub numbers as if..... |

The more intresting I find a game before release the less I will follow it....
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/31/11 1:35:22 PM
Over the years I stopped following games that seem intresting to me before release, I dislike spoilers, I dislike promises often made with most games and like to see for myself what the outcome/release will be for myself with actual gametime playing it. I noticed years ago the more I followed a game the bigger the disappointment was when the game was finaly released. I wonder am I the only one and are more who are intrested in a game the ones who follow it to the letter? It doesn't mean I totaly ignore news/topics/reviews about games before playing them, but I have learned nothing beats the true ingame experiance instead of the expectations build by hype. |

The State of the MMO Industry or "Why Can't I Have My MMO Equivalent to Battlefield 3?!"

Nope, but I still can enjoy some of it, will there be a MMORPG that fully will satisfied me again, to me due to my own experiance I'd say perhaps with a MMORPG that might be developed in 5/7 years from now, but knowing and seeing what tech currently can do and that there is a very hugh portion of people into games without high end systems to back it up we have to wait.....sorry, perhaps I am more realistic especially when it comes to this genre, and also due to seeing how people seem to complain these day's |

Are we addicted to "New Content"? What is Content anyway?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/30/11 3:55:15 PM
Originally posted by waynejr2 Some might but I have seen the majority like OP said waits till the developers put in more guided options and tell it's players what to do. For example pre-cu SWG was filled with content, much of it was player created as at the time we still had a large part of players that actually knew how to create fun that wasn't dictated by the game itself, yet at the same time we had so many topics about people being bored and complained about the lack of content which to me showed that the majority that wanted to play SWG but didn't play simply wanted a game that was more or less a handholding experiance but as soon the game stopped holding their hands the "I am bored" and lack of content topics came on forums. With today's generations everything is guided this goes for games and real life and when the lack of direction is present people get lost and seem clueless at what to do next. It's often as if people don't want to think for themselfs anymore. Simple question like when a game is released is how many times have we seen topics or questions like "which class should I take" or "what's the best or fastest way to reach cap lvl", "what skills should I take". What happened to actually playing what YOU the player wants to play instead of being sheep to follow the rest of the sheeps. Overall and this doesn't matter if it's a sandbox or themepark game there is enough content, but many ignore much of it simple because they don't want to play how they want to play but want to play what others or the game tells you how to play. There is no lack of content there is only lack of imaginations/patience and the will to play it YOUR way. Cause there seems to be a deep rooted fear among many people who came to games that they seem afraid to make their own choices. |

The State of the MMO Industry or "Why Can't I Have My MMO Equivalent to Battlefield 3?!"
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/29/11 11:48:31 PM
The answer isw simply, compare content and the amount of players from single/multiplayer games compared to MMORPG's and there is your answer. To be honost if people don't understand this then they have no idea what it takes to create a MMORPG. I have said this for years, MMORPG leap about 3/4 years behind single/multiplayer games and most likely never will catch up due to the complexity when developing a MMORPG and ever evolving tech in all genre's. |

Am I getting bored with games or are games getting more boring?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/29/11 2:49:19 PM
OP: You change and games change. I had the same thing happening to me with cartoons, I could watch and enjoy cartoons till I was 28, but for some reason I grew bored at them and since never really watch cartoons anymore, except for a few cartoon-like movies. |

Solo players gets the shaft again
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 8/29/11 2:46:05 PM
OP: you like PVP and you like raiding, so don't see what your problem is as both are non-solo play so you'll be just fine. I only wonder are high end gear/weapons bind on equip or bind on pickup or are they tradeble?? Me as a solo player don't mind that the best gear to pvp or do raids come from actually doing pvp or raids, so for my pve pleasure I seem good enough without from what I read. Why should I have the best gear or weapons if I merly pve in the first place. Overall this is a MMORPG and not some singleplayer game, so it's obvious to me that people who do raids or pvp will get better gear/weapons then I get from mainly pve'ing and perhaps doing it solo. I just don't get topics like this even though I have become a more solo player I still understand I am playing and enjoying a MMORPG that has options and some options I like and play and some I can do without or simply ignore. But then again it's populair to just complain as we use to see news from this game where many felt it was more like a solo-singleplayer game and now that they annouched allot of group content we get people that begin to complain about the lack of solo options. There will never be a game where 100% of it's community likes 100% of the game, there will always be things people might like and things people might dislike.

Are the wrong people developing games now?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/29/11 1:28:54 AM
Are the wrong people developing games now? No of course not, but are there games that are being developed that you, me or someone else don't like? then yes. There must be some passion with most developers to sit down for 2, 3, 4 or more years to work on one project, there is this sense of wanting to create a fun experiance, even though some or many games might not turn out to be fun towards the consumer. Then there is this whole new and bigger generation of gamers that have come due to mainstream internet who have shown that they have mostly a different take on games and how to play them then many of us old schoolgamers did back then. Which results in supply by demand. Any of you who have been with this genre for a long time shouldn't be suprised how this genre turned out these day's as we already could have read it back in the day's on forums when internet became more mainstream and the wants and needs of those who where new to this medium had different idea's about games as they where not used to being online, where we grew into online and knew how things where before online was possible or very limited, where there is this hugh new generation that doesn't know any better then online is just there for the grabs. Keep in mind developers gather so much more info/data then most of us will see and for example if you see your roleplaying games has about 5 or 10% of it's population playing roleplay and hte rest is doing more of a hack and slash rush to cap lvl then it's obvious that developers will focus more on the cap rushers then the rp's. I don't really like the direction this genre has taken, but can still enjoy some of it. |

Impossible to leave the trinity behind?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/26/11 3:39:38 PM
I try to not use the trinity method, mainly because it's much more challenging to me instead of already know each and everyone's role on what to do and when to do it. So even games with the trinity I seek out those who want more of a challenge and like to do it the non-trinity way. But I know for a fact I am a minority that seeks his own challenge in this genre then a challenge that is dictated and guided by the game. |

if people are worried about their privacy, just stop using INTERNET!, stop using cell-phones, stop using electronics all together. I even think that one should become a hobbo if a person is scared about his or her privacy. |

Seriously how hard is it to just get the truth?!
MMORPG Game Concepts « Developers Corner 8/24/11 12:39:09 PM
Sorry but what does the topic tittle have to do with what you wrote in the topic itself? I am just curious, perhaps I missed something. Also to bad The Witcher doesn't work for you, I am geussing it's the older one, as I have the enhanced edition of The Witcher 1 but the normal edition of Witcher 2, but also curious why you not able to run it. Then your question about getting a team together, I doubt that it work out for you else this topic would have been allot clearer, but again perhaps I missed something. |

sux there isnt anything good to play or will be for long time
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 8/23/11 1:17:19 PM
There are plenty of good games, they might not be your taste but that doesn't make them bad. Playing Age of Conan (again since Unchained, played in beta and 3 months from release but left) Even though I long for a good sandbox or sandbox hybrid games, AoC still gives me enjoyment even though it's a very linear game it has enough elements I can use to make it less linear but then again my playstyle is broad and actually like to immerse myself in the games I play instead of looking at the xp bar and rushing to cap lvl. |

From what I read I had a similar problem a few years ago with my previous card a 7900GT, for me it was the card as I returned to the computer shop, they tested everything and their conclusion was it was my card that was bust, they replaced it with a 7950GTX as my 7900GT was out of stock and me being a good costumer in their shop they did me a big favour. Didn't see anything wrong with your powersupply, that should be more then sufficient. Don't asume just because it's new it will work 100% sometimes these things happen, so best advice I can give you is to let your retailer or if you have a comp.shop around to have a look at it before you try to do things some people seem to suggest. |

Originally posted by UnleadedRev Many people often leave a game to try out something new, some will stick with the new, some will go back to that they have invested allot of time in and still feel it's a fun game. Also this flood of updates: Last was Patch 4.2. on 06/28/2011, the patch before Patch 4.1: on 4/26/2011 and before that one Patch 4.0: 10/10/2010 And ofcourse there are many players that just play anything with the MMO tag on it. So I am not sure why people think that WoW is getting desperate or some even seem to think it's dying. Cause all I see is a logical course of action that happens to any MMORPG, but for some reason people can't stand the fact that WoW has such high sub numbers, so they try to make topics like this which actually shows us nothing. Lets just hope that what ever games is released or still is being played that our fellow gamers enjoy themselfs. There are no "my game is better," there are just games that some like and some might dislike. |

Wonder how long it will take for certain people to wake up and understand that this happens with almost any game or MMORPG ever made or being released. |
