I finnaly caved in and i'm going to buy a geforce 6800 agp card (it should keep me going for another year or so while i save up for a new rig) but before i do i heard that you have to make sure the power supply meets the requirement, the 6800 card im getting requires 300watts , im pretty sure i meet the requirements but i gotta be 100% sure since im not very knowledgeable on this stuff.
My power box supply is labeled "Max power 350w LA ATX" and it says it goes up to 230v Is watts and volts the same thing or are they different, can someone explain to me if im good to get that 6800 card? Anxiously waiting~ |

resident evil was more about puzzle solving than survival.

I'm still learning some coding and graphics designing, im planing to do some small projects like flash games and stuff before i make my attempt at a low budjet MMO. This is my idea:
A MMO where you are trying to survive in a city infested with zombies. Basicly, i picture this: Ever ask yourself "i wonder what i would do right this instant if zombies started appearing" This is what the game will be all about, what you would do in a real life situation if zombies appeared. Would you run to the nearest building an lock yourself in? Or risk a grusome death by roaming around finding as many survivers as you can? - After creating your character, you start off in a random spawn in the city and from there try to survive. I was thinking that there will be a server where it resets everymonth (wipe) and starts off fresh, where the first day of will be normal (no zombies) and after a certain time the dead will walk. - there wont be any levels, or grinding because this game is based more on teamwork and how you handle the situations, you wont find yourself running around hacking and slashing every zombie you see because in this game you're an ordinary person. So you will die very easily with perma death of course. - It will take place in a large city so you can run in doors to any place you want. You will be able to move things around (shelves, desks, creates, and even rubble and planks) to help you create baracades blocking doors and windows etc.. - Weapons can be anything you can grab, from broom sticks, knives, gardening tools etc.. yes there will be guns but dont expect to be running around mowing down mobs. Getting guns wont be easy basicly if someone has a gun, you'd want to stay with him. - This game is gonna be more realistic in terms of fighting, it'll take 2 poorly armed people to take down 1 zombie. - There will be crafting , something like: if you have a roll of duc-tape , a knife , and a stick, you can combine it for a knife-on-a-stick. Character progression: There wont be any levels, but there will be skills and stats, for example you can have alot of strength and with that you can carry heavier objects/weapons/people?, push furniture by yourself etc.. To get better at something you have to do it often (not grind but you get the idea) like better marksmenship or your crafted items have better durability. Or your technition skills where you can create radios or fix power outage. There will be tons of skills i was thinking something like : First aid, cooking, electronics, communications, combat-melee-range, and more Eating: you have to eat and drink, there will be a hunger bar and thirst bar that you have to keep filled, this will force people to send out raiding parties for food/medicine and equipment supplies, siince tools will have durability. Communications: There will be a "talk" where people can hear you but so can "they". There will be a "yell" which works like "talk" but in a larger radious, and there will be "radio" where anyone who owns a radio can chat over long distances (like a global chat) so if only 1 member in your group of survivers has a radio, only he can hear the radio chat so he will have to recite it back to you. Story: Why are there zombies? http://www.thesop.org/index.php?id=1812 I was thinking the game should be first-person since this way, it will be more scary because you have to constantly watch your back and stuff. |

I rate you 1/10 as a critic for the following reasons: 1. Your poor english skills and 2. for rating a game based purely on graphics.
Runescape has over 100,000 subscribers last time i checked and thats a very high number for a small independant company like that. 80% of the new mmo's coming out today can only dream of getting that many players. Why you ask? Simply because runescape is fun, theres lots of people, and lots of updates of new content. |

sarcasim or not, you must be either very new to mmo's or very cheap.

Being a little harsh on WoW are we?

" found the game not to have any RPG elements what so ever, maybe a few" ..Uhh...ok? "the game is simply a glorified 3rd person shooter with a party system." Do you even know what a shooter is? "all quests are surrounding the "kill 10 of this" "kill 50 of this and 50 of that and collect 10 of this" *yawn*, if you are starting out in the MMORPG area/world, then i spose this is a "good" starting area although its really a MMOFPS (3rd person) because its seriously not an RPG." Yes WoW does have SOME quests like that to help you lvl, but why not mention that wow has plenty of real, epic, quests that most mmos cant even compare too. Sounds like you just mindlessly grinded from 1 to 60 and ignored everything esle. and again what i ask do you know what FPS is? "Compare WoW to real RPG's like Baulders Gate or Neverwinter nights, can u really role play in WoW. i found it next to impossible with all the little 12 year old noobs (even the older players were tools) running around on the role playing servers and the normal servers." WoW is an MMO and Baulders Gate is an offline(yes it can be played online but its annoying waiting for others to read the quest log while your frozen) RPG, there are different aspects to that you have to concider when making an mmo because there will be OTHER PEOPLE playing too. The two games are of different genre so why compare them. "dont get me wrong thou, the game is good, but not a good RPG, a good 3rd person shooter/hack n' slash game." WoW has one of the richest lore and rpg elements in the MMO genre, because its based off Warcraft which has been around for YEARS and has comics, books, other games, and soon to be a movie. And all that is intergrated into WoW, how can you say that it has no RP element? did you JUST hear of warcraft? and did you just grind from 1 to 60. |

Sounds to me like they've just realise that they have a tiny fan base and are despertly trying to get their name around by word of mouth. I've been in and out of their forums and notice that most of their community members are the worst types of gamers the MMO industry has to offer.
This game has been in development forever and still has VERY little information on the game. They've been repeating the same batch of info for years now. its no wonder they cant keep a fanbase. |

i dont play seriously anymore, but i do come on now and than to smith items and drop them in town.
My char name is Q D Most people hate it because they judge it purely on appearance, those people are more suited to play RF online or lineage II or something like that. One of the things i like most about runescape is the constant updates of new content. |

I've played alot of MMO's in my days and i still think runescape ranks highly above most.
People wont give it a chance because it's not graphical and doesn't have skimpy avatars, but the gameplay is greatly diversed. This is one of the few MMOs where you arn't forced to kill everything that moves. Theres so many things you can do that does not involve hacking and slashing. Quests are great too, they are indepth and unique. Never repetitive (kill x amount of y). These quests are actual quests with story and require skills other than pve. And dont call this a carebear game either, because its one of the most hardcore games ive played where your items drop when you die regaurdless of where you are or what killed you. The game setting is very unique too, it's medieval fantasy mixed with a little modern technology. I'd give up good graphics for this type of game play any day. |
