I second that, this game might not appeal to the players looking for old generic PvP, that's why most of those people left. But at the same time it does appeal to quite a lot of other players who are enjoying the game as it is now . Ranting about it for several years won't do you any good, on the opposite you will look a lot more "kiddie" like, then most of the population currently playing RuneScape which i presume you despise a whole lot more then i do . |

Runescape: Lead Designer Mark Ogilvie Interview
News Discussion « General Discussion 11/28/09 8:46:59 PM
Sorry to disappoint you but the game has received weekly regular updates since mid 2003 after rs2 was released. I have been playing since the start of 2002 . And RWT doesn't exist, if you know of a way to RWT feel free to share it here so it can get fixed asap. As far as i am concerned and current active player RWT is obsolete. I am talking about selling and buying of RuneScape currency not character or power leveling for money. Originally posted by ihaveurnose I simply couldn't ignore this post. I'm pretty sure that RS only started doing 1 update a week in 2007, maybe 2006 at earliest. Also, they're "crack down" on RWT was the worse update to hit the game (necessary and needed..maybe, but i'm sure they could've figured something else out). The quests I agree with, unlike the majority of other MMO's the quests from runescape are actually "QUESTS" not hunts that are labeled as "quests". And ur right, there aren't a "huge" amount of bots but u are very wrong about "..and without RWT...", as RWT is still very much alive. Even with the removal of wildy and free trades, there is still RWT going on. No game dev's will ever be able to stop RWT, even if there was no way for players to interact amongst each other, ppl would still be doing RWT. The only real way of stopping RWT (and again, this goes for any game) is to permanently shut down the game. However, even though I hated the removal of wildy and free trades I still find myself coming back to RS every 4-8 months. I may only play for 1 month before finding a new game(s) to try out, but RS definitely beats any game I've played so far. ::EDIT:: @devour Though RS' original aim was at children, there are thousands of ppl that are 20+ (i am 19). And thousands of those 20+ ppl even have a wife and children. So if u were trying to say that RS is a game for children, u are wrong. It's a game for any1 over the age of 13...although that is somewhat regrettable, as many 11-14 yr old players are quite annoying with their immaturity.

Runescape: Lead Designer Mark Ogilvie Interview

I have to agree with everyone on this post, RuneScape can't be compared to any other MMO on the market, due to the fact it has a huge amount of content compared to anything out there. Just think that from 2003-2004 this game has been updated every week with new content for the players to enjoy. Now that's 5 years worth of weekly updates, which easily translates with a gigantic amount of gameplay available to every player. They also cracked down the Real World Trading problem and they are continuously fighting against macroers and hackers. Recently they have helped one notorious phisher get caught by the police for stealing accounts through phishing websites. The quests here aren't like the ones in any other MMO, they contain riddles, mind puzzles and challenge every bit of logic you have in your brain in order to complete them, sometimes you just have to look up a guide for them in order to complete them as some of them are really hard core. Overall this is a great game which will continue to advance and it's one of the few MMO's out there without a huge amount of bots and without RWT, these 2 reasons are enough for any honest player to give RuneScape a try. |

Runescape - Update from E3 Junior MMO for kids?!
General Discussion « Runescape 10/29/09 5:43:33 AM
Face it, all you do is bash runescape :)) |
Well, MechScape - the project name not the actual name, is designed in a way not to copy cat every mmo out there... So i believe MechScape will bring some fresh air on the MMO scene, maybe we will both play it, who knows ;) |
Well if you don't play it, you have an outdated image of the game which makes you an unreliable source of information.
Personally i am looking forward to their next game. |
devil, all you do is rant about runescape, you been doing the same thing for over one hole year, which means you are still playing it and probably enjoying it they way it is. |
Well then they will fight against USA =) |
Hello everyone, i am here to introduce you to a game and to help out eUSA within a game called eRepublik. Over 180.000 players from all around the world joined the game in order to promote and help their countries grow and achieve supremacy. As a citizen of a country you will be allowed to work, fight for your country and your allies defend their territories or conquer new ones from other countries. You might as well arrange political take overs and rob other countries, open up newspapers to have your voice heard or join a political party and influence how decissions are made, hell you can even run for the presidency of your country if you are a good speaker, being a new player won't stop you from being a good leader. You as well might become a millionaire by investing Gold in companies which extract resources, create companies which produce weapons, food, gifts and many others. Loan your extra money to other players in the exchange of monthly interest or take a loan from other players to open your own company early or to buy weapons! Now that i have described some of the things you could do, you can take a look at North America's political map down bellow. At the moment there are 2 alliances formed within the game, the big players in each one being : Formerly known as Atlantis : USA, Romania, Canada, Spain, Croatia, Sweden, Poland, Finland, Greece, Switzerland versus the current alliance known as Peace :
At the moment the Atlantis Alliance is losing ground, most of the territories belonging to USA, Canada and Spain's being occupied by Peace members. The only way you can help your country is to play the game , it will only take you 3-5 minutes/day at start just to do the basic things and as you advance you will get more involved with the game and you will enjoy it, you might as well find yourself addicted to it. You will be cheering for victory when your country manages to defeat an enemy but you will also hurt when you will lose a battle. By joining you will help by fighting for your country, take the right decissions by getting involved in politics, by working and creating companies you help your country gather taxes which are used to further develop the country with essential infrastructure and for weapons necessary to win wars, and finally you will have fun while doing all of these. You can also invite your friends and be awarded for it! Give eRepublik a try!

HelbreathUSA - Just went Free to Play. IEnt - The company with the only running server for American-European market just released their game as a free product. HelbreathUSA.com - in order for the game to be stable and for the company to be able to survive they have adopted a new strategy, they have decided it's for the best if the game would become free to play, this way attracting more players in to a long forgotten game. And we all know, the more players one game has the more fun it becomes. IEnt, addopted 2 models of getting funds from the players in order to support the continuous functionality of the server and the support team. One way is to subscribe for 10$/Month in order to get a few benefits... (Note this feature doesn't allow the subscribers to be stronger, it tackles the functionality of the game). The second method they adopted is the renowned cash shop which offers a few items that would boost experience gain over a small period of time, mana regeneration and a few more features. The game can be fully played without the need of becoming a subscriber nor you will feel the need to buy items from the cash shop, as the features aren't that great.
Helbreath is an old school MMO, in 2d-3d Graphics, it's a really old game, with very good game mechanics and it's also really entertaining on both aspects of PvE or PvP. RvR , Appealing items for people that accumulate enough Player Kills, Upgrade-able Gear with Level Points once you get to your max level (To keep you motivated to train more). And of course... many more features which i won't get in to right now. (Ah yea i forgot, it has crafting/trading skills too). I welcome everyone to give this game a try, Cheers! (Note: At level 20 after you chose a side which you would fight for, you get the possibility of getting free 3 Mil Exp Pts - to help out new players catch up with the older players) HelbreathUSA - portal.

You should do more research, there is one MMORPG which will revolutionise the market,
MechScape, it has been in development for 3 years and the guys over at Jagex are still developing it. They stated that this one won't even compare to how MMO's are played and that no MMORPG will ever compare to it. As they have done they research and know what will work and what players really want.
The game was scheduled for release in 2009 but this date is still uncertain as they are doing everything for the game to be as perfect as it can be at release. Jagex being mainly a private company they don't really care about profit as much, dedicating the resources which MechScape will need in order for the product to be fully completed. They won't be releasing anything about it until the game will go in Beta, they are pretty strict regarding their security policy and leaking 3 years worth of ideas put in to practice won't do them any good. |

Nothing on the market can compete with RuneScape... |
I recommend RuneScape - Free to Play up to an extent then 6$/Month Subcription for additional content.
RuneScape has 5 Million active players, it offers a vast amount of content with a lot of depth, a stable market controlled by all of the active players (Unlike WoW or any other MMORPG, everyone of the 5 Million players contribute to the evolution of the prices on the market and not only 100k or whatever a WoW/OtherMMO has going on a single server), A skill based leveling system, A lot of trade skills and combat skills and it has the most advanced java graphics on the market, going from Full Screen to Anti Aliasing 4x in a browser window, a really impressive piece of technology!
On the other hand, there is Bounty Bay online, but the cash shop is a turn off for me, it has quite a few unique features and it can get really fun to play, but you got to cope that you won't be the best thanks for the cash shop since you won't be spending any money, but besides that it's still fun to play! The 2 games i mentioned above are listed on the games list here on MMORPG.com, feel free to try them out. |

I don't get it does he have 3 pair of hands? |
That's a really original skill concept, (not entirely new as it was 1st introduced in single player games) . I just hope that the people in charge of directing the future of this game will come to realize that they will need an update to the user interface and the way people control the client. An update on this issue will definetly make the game more enjoyable and it will bring new players to this very unique game. |
