Returning Player with building problems.
Species, Profession & Skills « Star Wars Galaxies 3/22/11 6:09:50 AM
Ive recently returned after a few years break (new account) My character is level 8 and a structure creater. I've bought from the market (because I can't make them yet) a House and a Personal Mineral Extracter. The trouble is I can't seem to add fuel to the Extracter and for the house and extracter I can't seem to put money in for Maintance. I press the option and nothing happens. Also does the bank have an item storage facility? I can't seem to get that to work either. What am I missing here? |

I managed to test the game yesterday no problem, then they took the servers down to patch and ever since the patcher has been stuck. Boot version 2010.08.27.2001 File D2010.09.04.2000 (Stuck at) 94.8% (Downloading for the UK) It wont let me log into the beta testing section of their site either, so i can't even report it. |

I got a corrupted installer message while doing the EU version, cba to muck about with it now. |

Been playing the Beta test for a couple of days now and I like it so far. Character generation/creation is excellent especially if you wish to create an alien looking avatar. The tutorial like part went smoothly for me with no hicups. I like the fact you can walk around space stations and planets (something seriously lacking in Eve online) Space conbat is easy and not the least frustraiting, grapically very pleasing. Only came across one minor bug relating to item information, (which I did report) I have experienced the log in//server troubles, which is being addressed (nice to see they are working on that one already) The game feedback is good, if you go to report a bug you find a list of already reported bugs to make sure you dont waste your time reporting a known issue. |

Aion is THE best MMO out right now as far as I'm conserned...and I've played all the big MMOs out right now. Sure it has some flaws but what game doesn't in its early stage? The problem is that folks expect to hit max level within months so they end up with the feeling of grinding because they want to hit level 50 asap. Go back to WoW or LOTRO is my advice...Aion isnt for you.
As for you quiting...who the hell cares! lol You rarely play which means you have little to no knowledge of Aion. Stick with single player games and stop posting BS about games you have no idea about.
I agree with his points and I played Aion for more than 12 hours per day, are you going to tell me I have no knowledge of Aion too? |

You brought nothing new to the table' You said it yourself, we are dissatified with our purchase and wish other people to know this. Freedom of speach..bla..bla..bla

One of the things that indicated to me that people are leaving the game is the fact that at level 30ish you could spend all day trying to get a group to do the group quests. |
|
|
I've also quit Aion (join the club) My question is, did they do these so called bot sweeps on both the US and EU servers? |
|
|
' But as this thread is aged they already established such a team to eliminate bots as they find them.' Is that for the US servers or the european or both? |

I think what people are trying to tell you is that this post has been done before and brings nothing new to the table. The complaint about bots? Aion has been addressing that for a while now and as we all know this is a growing issue for all MMOs. Next I would suggest posting some thing you don't like then offering a solution and discussion. That's what forums "used" to be about.
If you had read the posts, you would have noticed that I offered a suggestion. Having an active GM team on the servers, who could deal with the bots and gold spammers, a simple solution suggested by many players. |

I played this for a day or so. I didnt mind the graphics, they were fine, imo its the playability that counts. As far as I could tell the game is about heavy pvp and crafting. After asking if there were any mobs/aliens to kill I was rudely told to go back to playing WoW ;D. A game needs more than pvp and crafting to survive in todays gaming environment imo. The community? In general they were helpful, but chat was full of trolls and a couple of ppl who were distincly unhelpful. Not a game I would continue with in its present state. |

Metaspace had great potential. It wasnt a game in its self it was the place where people could create and test games, sprites, furniture, walls, doors you name it. It was also a social place where players could go and visit other players worlds, rate them and play their games. It had extensive and imo invaluable information for novice and professional programmers, both from players and their wiki. I only managed to play it for a week and had great fun creating sprites and developing my own little space, with buildings etc. Shame to see it go, but look forward to what they might do next. |

Ive been playing around with it this week, great fun making your own animations etc. However they announced yesterday that it is closing on the 1st of Jan 2010. |

My thread was more than just about the pvp and incase it escaped your notice this site is called MMORPG.com, the forums are for discussing games, all aspects of the games, good and bad. People come here to read about games they would like to play, personally I would want as much information as possible about a new game I wanted to play. |

I have played an awful lot of online games over the years and have never seen this amount of gold sellers in any other game. It was delt with badly (on the european servers) imo, what it needed was an active in game GM team, muting the sellers and actively dealing with the problem. Granted the problem was being dealt with, but this just inconvinenced normal players. The game loading in Korean for many european players was a common problem, which NCSoft must have known about before the game release, because they put those game copies on sale, therefore if they already knew about it they shouldve had a fix in place. The forum issues were in the first few weeks of release, where you would put in your login details and they would be refused even though they were correct, was a well know issue which NCSoft did get around to fixing quickly. As I said i liked the way the PvP was done, but I personally found it too frustrating not to be able to quest. The game didnt lack for quests, but there were a couple of times where I did have to grind levels to be able to do them. I got to a stage at level 30 where I had (Abyss) one quest for an area needing a specific faction control, couldnt do that one, another where the npc wasnt where the locator said he was, the other quests where higher level and usually camped by enemy players for easy kills. So that ment going back to the other zone, where the quests left there were for groups that you either couldnt get people for or were high level red quests. Whats the point of playing a game if you can't actually 'play' it? With regard to the 5 pieces of specialised armour for level 30 characters, ill clarify what i ment, it isnt possible with 8 character slots to get two sets of armour for both Asmodean and Elyos. Ill do the maths for you, 5+5=10.

I played it and liked it, but it needs work, it needs more zones to explore, more quests to do, for me the interest lasted about 2 weeks. A suggestion for the faunasphere area, (maximum of 30 creatures if paying top subscription) have a stable or something to store some of the creatures away, I wanted to only display my favourties. |
