I installed the game, and my username was sitting there. So lucky me, I use the same password for every game. I'm in and playing.
Now, the thing is I hadn't been playing long, so I need to relearn everything. |

Why do you feel this particular rant is any better than the other rants? Yes, it is indeed all about me. I'm not trying to save the children. |

Darn. I had an account when it closed, but I can't remember the user name. My email address is different, too. Oh well, guess I will have to wait. |

AC2, Earth and Beyond, and Auto Assault are three that I'm familiar with. |

Thier Q2 report will look great. They sold 700,000+ copies. Its the reports past Q2 that are going to be scary. |

Yep, this is the main reason why I cancelled WoW. They are raking in over 100 million dollars in revenue a month, and can't even keep the game fresh. |

Of course, people are stuck in between those stages also. A lot of it has to do with experience or lack thereof. To get the be a master I'd imagine you have to be pretty darn smart, too. Just look at Ortofon's videos from DAoC. This guy was without a doubt the most skilled player in DAoC. He made everyone look like a newb. Your question is like asking a boxing what makes him skilled. "You just throw punches, dude! How does that make you any good?" He's trained to box, he's knows how to exploit people's weaknesses, he knows his weaknesses, and keeps his opponent from them. If he doesn't he loses. |

Two words; Dark Elves. Just look at WoW. Alliance was overpopulated, because of Night Elves. Once Blood Elves was introduced Horde jumped in population(mainly all blood elves). I was really looking forward to chaos, but after the cut to Choppa and everyone and their mother wanting to be Chaos I will probably go Order. |

Is CC going to be as prevalent as it was in DAoC? That was my number one gripe when I used to enjoy DAoC. |

My worst 5. I will rank them by my disappointment (ie, I was hyped for them), as all free MMOs are 1000X worse than any of these.
1) AC2 - The very first MMORPG to be super hyped, and a total crash and burn. 2) DDO - C'mon. I mean, seriously. 3) EQ2 - Doesn't deserve them name Everquest. The second MMO sequel to tank, imo. 4) PotBS - Always wanted to be a pirate. Lame game. Luckily I waited to see the reviews, so I never bought it. 5) AoC/Vanguard - Two promising titles that totally tanked it.

I've been playing MMOs since 2000. If there is one thing I've learned that if there is A LOT of pissing and moaning about a game there is a reason for it. |

The problem with these WoW kids(referring to how long one has played MMOs not true age), like the OP, don't understand that before WoW 200,000 subs was considered very strong. When EQ reached 500,000 subs it was a big deal. DAoC probably never reached more than 250,000 subs, but at one time was considered to be a very successful MMO. MMOs don't need millions of subs to strive. Just look at AC. That game has been under 50,000 subs forever. Somehow Turbine has managed to not only create 3 more MMOs(one a complete failure), but to invest in two big time IPs, which probably cost them a lot of cash. So all hype aside, you're right WAR will probably never surpass WoW. That's not the reason why devs make MMOs, though. They do it to make money, and to do that they don't need 8 million subscribers. Just a couple hundred thousand, which if AoC sold 700,000 in its first month WAR will pass that easily. |

Mythic is like Funcom? Sorry Mythic doesn't have another MMO that was a complete failure at launch, and went f2p. Mythic has a proven track record unlike Funcom who has only proven they can push junk onto the market. Mythic's customer service has always been top-notch unlike Funcom's. No, there are few parallels between the two companies. |

IMO, DAoC is one of the very few MMOs that actually listen on that rare occasion. They have always kept people informed. I'm not saying its what we wanted to hear, but when Sonya was the PR person we were never in the dark despite no official forums. In any case, I don' think devs, or the decision makers base their direction for the game from fanbois or haters. |

Yea, I have bad visions about a squad of ships running depthless missions in instanced space for eternity. No thanks, Cryptic. Admittedly, that has more to do with Cryptic rather than the interview. |
