Banthis, pretty much got it.

Last night, my guild took some keeps for the first time. If there are defenders in the keep good luck in getting it unless you outnumber them very badly. There are about 10-15 champions and a hero just to take a keep, plus all the defenders. Even when there were no defenders we could not take the keep by straight charging the lord, btw we had 18. We had to run on the balcony, and pull the mobs. Really kinda cheesey(plus the players can knock you off  the balcony). I don't know if we were doing it very wrong, or what. I think keep fighting needs to be looked at, or no one will ever do keep sieges. Kinda like it is right now.

Anyone have a different experience?

I play on Ostermark(Order), and Avelorn(Destruction). Both servers are dominated by Destruction even though the server screen says its evenly balanced. The only way I ever win a scenario on Ostermark is by going in a guild group. I don't even both going in solo, anymore.

I've pretty much quit playing Ostermark, because I was ready to quit the game. Luckily, I moved sides, and having a much better time. Kind of reminds me of DAoC back in the day before all the hib/mid nerfs. Albion was very weak. I think Mythic will get the balance under control, but it may take awhile.

I'm sorry, but you don't run EQ2 on high settings with an integrated card. I'm skeptical that you can run EQ2 at all. Kyleran had a perfect solution. Here you go, an 80 dollar card. I use this, and run WAR on max settings.

I can see both sides of the debate. Personally, if I can't use it I just pass. In this game you don't need gold, and, so far, upgrades come by pretty fast.

This has always been a problem even when I played EQ. Except in EQ NBG made no sense, because the loot was so specific. Why would casters/healers join a group where only melee items dropped?

This is just one more reason why its best to play with a good guild amongst people you will see everyday. The anonymity that is provided by random groups will cause individuals to act differently. Case in point; eldanloco. I wonder how many guilds he has been kicked from, because of his "screw the world" attitude. Perhaps, he just acts like this when no one can identify him like most cowards will do.

Anyways, my point is this will forever be a problem, and has been a problem forever. Should the game automatically force you to roll greed if you can't use it? I don't know. What if the person can exchange that item for one he can use? Then wouldn't he need that item? That is why I think it should be up to the individual. Let their own conscience guide them.

Out of curiosity, why does being a casual player make someone a "tard?" Are you implying that people with less time to play video games are fundamentally less intelligent than people with more time? Even when some of those people with less time have less time because they're in college, and busy applying to Ph.D. programs?

It's not about time at all. I have little time to play too but i still wanna play something intense when i can.. It's just about how you wanna employ that time. Do you wanna do something intellectually gratifying or something mildly entertaining just to chill out? That's being a casual tard.

It's basically a difference in conceiving videogaming. It's either cultural discovery, spiritual exploration, or morphine for your primitive mind.

Oh, that's rich. Playing a video game is intellectually challenging for you? I just feel very sorry for you. Good day, genius.

I can see RTS game being slightly challenging, but sorry no MMORPG on earth is challenging they are all the same. Grind, kill, grind. Even the wildly over-hyped EVE.

WAR is everywhere but certainly not for everyone. More and more the game seems more geared for the casual players and niche rvr crowd. The hardcores will get bored really fast unfortunately. A nice game but definitely not appealing to the large masses and many thought.

totally true.

The problem is the casual crowd is NOT "really" a niche, it's the majority of the players. I'm afraid.

And that's basically where Mythic's marketing wager is, They hope there's a LOT of casual tards out there to make 'em stinking rich.

Its just the teenage mentality. He thinks everyone should play video games 50+ hours a week killing the same PvE mob over and over until he gets enough points to buy that pair of boots. I'll let other form their opinions on how he has so much time to spend playing a game.

There are plenty of games that require you to have no life or future goals to be the top dog. WAR isn't one of them.

OP, you've constantly complained about WAR. You've claimed to be in CB, yet still bought the game despite your nonstop bashing. What's your agenda?

No thanks. I don't want to listen to "that guy" in scenarios. Bad enough I have to read his crap.

8600 GT 512MB. Its a nightmare for me. I don't understand it, either, because I can play Oblivion, COD4, EQ2, and other just dandy. Not on max settings, mind you, but its not a complete disaster, either.

I get so frustrated that I just log.

They ban them as fast as they can. There is nothing else to be done.

Could they just IP ban China?

I haven't decided, yet, depsite my hype a couple weeks ago. This game really seems to be a one trick pony. The PvE is pretty boring. I won't even discuss the "out of range" bugs, because who cares about PvE. This definately doesn't feel like a MMO that I can lose myself in.

I only read the first page, and there was no "misbehaving". AoC's customer service is like my utility company's. They just don't give a rat's behind. Well, you can go to another MMO, at least.

I didn't know there was a game between the people who don't like WAR, and the one's who do. I just enjoy playing WAR, and leave these forums "games" to trolls and fanbois.

Right, because one boring gameplay video somehow has made everyone DF fanbois.

A review I agree with. I love how you can level solely through PvP.

Honestly, the descrption for SM says "Melee DPS", not "Tank DPS", so I can see how the OP is confused. If your using a sword and board that is your problem. SMs seem to be doing fine, imo. You're going to suffer a bit on your DPS side for having high armor/HP. You're not a god, sorry.

Inspired by another thread that was mostly tongue in cheek, here's my REAL top 10 things Mythic should have done to make War better:

1) Tome of Knowledge should have worked as advertised. Nuff said.

*Note:  After being informed that the Tome is working as intended, I'll change #1 above to read

1)  All "Kill X of Y" quests should work like the Kill collector quests.  Nuff said.

2) Classes should not have been race or gender specific - maybe limited to 2 races and maybe limited to 1 gender within one of the races, but never a single race nor a single gender only. There's not enough variety or uniqueness that way. Plenty of uniqueness. Way more classes than most MMOs.

3) Influence rewards should have been much greater and influence should have been much harder to come by so more people would participate in the PQ's. I can get all the influence I need for a chapter by participating in 1 PQ all the way to the end, give or take a bit. Since there are several PQ's for a chapter, you should have to participate in at least all the ones for the chapter from beginning to end to get all the influence you need. If you want to run the same one 3 or 4 times in a row that's fine too, but it should take more than 1 PQ run for a chapter. Don't agree here. PQs shouldn't have better loot, than PvP. All it takes is one tank and one healer, and you can do any PQ I've seen, thus far.

4) Scenario "warmup" time should have been increased to allow people enough time to finish up what they are doing when the message comes up before the scenario starts. I think it's like 2 mins now, it should be at least double that to allow people time to zone in and get ready for the scenario. I wait sometimes 20 or 30 minutes to get into a scenario, I can wait another 2 minutes to get it going with a full team and not 1/2 the people still zoning in. They need to get battlegroup servers like WoW has instead of making us wait forever.

5) Either have a lot fewer champions or make killing a champion a lot more lucrative. I don't believe I've gotten anything of value from a champion and I'm risking my life everytime I fight one. This encourages people to avoid them and since they are everywhere, this turns questing into a game of hide and seek with the champions rather than what it should be. A few well placed champions with really nice drops would be fine. Agreed. Fighting champions is pointless. No loot, and the risk vs. reward is not there. The xp is only double even though it take about 5 times as long to kill. Makes no sense.

6) Anything that can be modified in the user interface should be saved to a setting and stay that way till I change it. Why on earth I have to zoom out on the mini-map everytime I play is beyond me. When I choose Skirmish stance as a Shadow Warrior, I should stay in Skirmish stance until I choose a different one. If I die, I should still be in Skirmish stance. It's annoying as hell to have to put myself back into the stance I want everytime I die. Completely agree.

7) Auction House filters should work as expected. When I say I only want to see Shadow Warrior stuff, then damn it don't show me anything that can only be used by the Empire. I'm a Shadow Warrior and because of #2 above you know that I'm a freakin' High Elf. Yep.

8) Altdor being the only major city for the Order should show up on ALL the races flightmaster maps as a place to go to, not just the Empire map. I'm a High Elf, I shouldn't have to look on the Empire map to fly there. I realize this was probably caused by the fact that there were going to be multiple major cities, but damn it, if you are going to remove them, then put the 1 that's left on the freakin' flightmaster map. Not sure what you mean. Can you not just click on empire, and it shows up on map?

9) Add target of target at least for your allies. I should be able to easily see who my fellow teammates are
targeting without having to setup my own little macro to /assist them. Most newbies have no clue how to setup a macro or use slash commands, do them a favor and do it for them. Please, no. The game is pretty easy as it is. No reason to cater even more to the mindless. I vote for getting rid of the assist train. We are all smart enough to figure out who to attack. /assist dumbs us down.

10) Use more than just color to distinguish between quests that are available, completed or in-progress. I'm color blind and have a hard time distinguishing between green/yellow/orange on the minimap. Put a green square, a yellow circle or a orange diamond at the very least. Agreed

Umm, I played WoW for a total of 3 months.  Calm down, son. I think there are people out there who can see past their own nose.
