i dont see any PvP til lvl 70 or 80 (unless u feel like getting smashed)

What the hell are you talking about?

And for all those of you WOW heads that think twinking is ok (even though I gave you examples of how overpowerd it is in Funcoms other MMO) well your just retarded...

Like I said you could twink character out so bad in Anarchy Online that they could SOLO SAME LEVEL INSTANCES.. SOLO MEANING THEY COULD RUN IT BY THEIR SELFS!...

So WOW kiddies let me put that in way you can understand.. Lets say you twink a lvl 20 Shaman, now lets say you twink this guy so well that he can walk into The Deadmines or Walling Caverns and SOLO THE WHOLE FREAKING INSTANCE BY HIS SELF...

Naw thats not complete BS, not at all..  But in Funcoms other MMO this was quite possible.  People use d to twink lvl  19 cratst hat could SOLO the Subway Instance (bosses and all).  Can't tell you how many 59 Docters that had The Temple of the Winds (lvl 60 and below instance) on farm. BOSSES AND ALL...

But watch none of you will understand or see WTH im talking about, hell most of you just want a game where they can just toggle auto attack up walk away from the screen (go wash dish's, gossip on the phone, etc).

As i understood it, there wont be buffs. More like auras. It sounded a bit like EQ2 buffs and spells. You only can use very few spells and buffs outside group there. Nothing that makes a lowlevel uber. Either the buffs are groupwide only or AE. Or both of course.

But it is obvious that a rich highlevel can buy very good crafted or maybe looted items for his alt.  He will be better compared to someone who just started the game or refuses to twink.

This is sorta what I wanted to hear and so far it sounds pretty good.

I guess im in the minority when it comes what people think about twinking.  How people think that it does not do more harm then good is beyond me.. Expecially when I state facts that have happend in previous games to include FUNCOMS own MMO.  I guess some people really do not care about something like that, but oh well.

Maybe one day I will be able to play another PVP MMO where skill mattered and not the gear you TWINKED yourself into or the outside buffs.  I was fortunate to play one that was like that but sadly SOE ruined it, if AOC will not be that game perhaps WAR will they seem to understand so far from the info they have put out.

I have not played AO at all, and i got sick of wow really really fast. I also have not done alot of reasearch on this game either. BUT from the looks of it AoC focuses alot in end-game activities, high end pvp and gvg, raiding, etc. Even though though there will still be twinks possibly why should u even care? i mean from the looks of it all the fun is to be had at lvl 80, so just out lvl them. Also in wow there are lvl based arenas right? where people earn titles and such? i never saw mention of something like that in AoC......

Bottom line imo is, let them twink all they want, with FC's focus being on end game lvl 80 content u probably wont even have time to pay attention at twinks while rushing your alt(s) to lvl 80. Assuming of course u actually tried playing through the lore and story of the game and didnt just masochistically grind yourself to lvl 80 the 1st time....

p.s. i see no reason why a full party of 80's would be at a disadvantege when facing a mixed party of 80's and 40's both in pvp and pve

From what I understand AOC will not just focus on end game pvp.. You will be able to pvp from the moment you hit level 20... And if its anything like Anarchy Online (FUNCOMS other MMO) you will be able to PVP with a purpose (ala hold land, etc) at that level.. So yes it does make a difference when people can Twink at low levels..

Why im sure most people would love to twink and hide behind a enchant or high level buff, some of us would just like to play the game the way it was intended and let skill be the deciding factor not how many High level buffs you have running or  high level ehchants you have on your character that will stay at that level forever.

I tried asking this question in Avery's thread that he posted prior to him leaving for his trip. I don't know if he just forgot or just doesn't know or what.  So I will ask it agian to anyone that does have the information.

Will people be allowed to twink their lower level characters like they could/can do in Funcoms other MMO Anarchy Online and like you are able to do in WOW?  Its a simple question but for some reason people avoid it like the plague....

To me this is just one of those game breaking game mechanics that I personally would rather have left out.  And for the people that will whine and complain and say there is nothing wrong with equiping your character with the best gear at that level, your absolutly right.. But there is a problem with being able to equip gear/enchants/buffs that were not intended for that level...

In Anarchy Online A level 19 character could twink him self up so good that he could have the NTU space to run around with about 5 or so level 200 buffs  which lasted a hour a peice.. I won't even get into what that did to pvp when you had a level 19 twink with level 200+ HealoverTimes, Damage shields, Strength buffs, etc running around... I actually was able to make a level 59 doctor  twink that could solo group instances (bosses and all) all by himself... For those of you that play WOW just think of a level 39 priest that could SOLO SM Cath....

Thats just 2 examples there are many more (exp in WOW) where it is now twink city in PVP.. Not to mention it ruins the games enconomy...Since it seems like every piece of grear that has a 7-9 as the last number is like triple or more the price that it used to be prior to everyone and there daddy making twinks.

I personally believe that is the biggest issue they are working on.

Nothing new here, it happend constantly in Anarchy Online Funcoms other MMORPG.

I knew stuff like this would carry over when the announced that they would be using a 'UPDATED' verson of the Anarchy Online gaming engine...Now to see if things like extreme lag when you have big PVP battles will be carrying over as well.  To be honest I would be shocked if AOC's big PVP battles were not a Lagmare like it was in AO when I played.

Bottom line is that they should have licenced a outside gaming engine not that crap tastic inhouse one they 'UPGRADED'...

You have obviously never played Anarchy Online.. I you did you would know that Funcom makes some of the most complete and indepth MMO's on the market (if not THE most).

I can honestly you tell you that content is one that I am not worried about with this company.  Unless they have totally lost ther ever lasting minds, content is one thing you should not worry about either.

It's the other things that are iffy with Funcom, ie the games coding, combat animations, twinking, and other things like that.

Last fall, they push out their financials reporting that all is good and on schedule with AoC and less than a week later, BOOM, March 25 is the new delay.  Friday, they have a major press conference that all is well and they are commited to March 25 as the release date.  Then within two days, Funcom pushes the release date back to May 20.  Something stinks at Funcom as one hand has no freak'n clue what the other is doing at that company.  They need to get act together and just be honest with us.

I believe in companies that push back launches to make games are great as they possibly can.  However, I have no respect and will not financial support a company that consistant our right LIES to their community.

This is the 6th launch push back and I can deal with that.  Last fall, I can see as a mistake in financials going out one week and then the delay going the next.  But after a press release where they say they are commited to March 25th as launch day and two days later see a push back to May 20, I don't think so.  Enough of the lies and false information.

The push back didn't lose you customers, the outright LIES to the community did.

Door meet Shannia's rear end.

Seriously I have no clue how people can get upset a MMORPG that has to be pushed back a bit.  If it was to the extreme that Darkfail has done then maybe.. But I rather they push it back a few months then release Vanguard version 2 on us.

Another thing to consider, unlike most companys Funcom actually has brought us a MMORPG already....Not many of the failures that keep pushing back (erm Darkfall) can say that.

Hmm... Kinda makes me wonder if some people might be complaining about what they are dealing with in Beta.

Also um you would think during BETA Funcom would be updating their beta clients alittle more frequently.... 2-3 months? WOW...

Well if they are looking to expand on their pvp in this game thats a good thing as far as im concerned.

But it better not be some EQ2 PVP where people are just kiling each other for the hell of it, oh wait thats what it is now.  They better bring some meaning into pvp like Land ownership, stats bonus's for those that own said land or something.

And I agree with what others have said, if they do bring more PVP into the game make it a option.  I love to pvp more then anything but sometimes I just want to go out and level, explore, quest, etc.  I do not want to have to deal with gankers.  So make it like AO's pvp, where certain areas are PVP out of your mind.  And then some other areas are 0 PVP for Uhoo.

They need to do something though, cause its fairly obvious that the game is not exactly thriving the way it is, Sub wise that is.

Seriously what Gravity does is exchange "cute anime" characters with zombie like characters but having the same hack-a-thon grind-a-lot game.

Summed it up perfectly, but at this point thats all I expect from Asian made games.

/sigh

Ok so this won't be another Roma Victor or Dark N Light.   It will just be another Archlord or Fun Wang Online.    WEEEEE!....

Thanks!!!

WOW hands down, much better combat animations and combat in general.

Plus if your into PVP I would go WOW.  Even though WOW is grindtastic, at least you have goals you can pvp for.   What goals are there to attain in eq2?  All people do in that game is pvp just to kill one another, which can be done in WOW plus some.

Also did I mention the combat?  EQ2 doesn't even compare to WOW in that reguard.

Sounds like another Roma Victor, Dark n Light, Shadowbane, Matrix Onine, etc.   Or (just like all those games) another poorly made crap fest,

When are we gonna stop getting wow clones and get a new sandbox mmo ? Bioware's interviews makes it clear its another wow clone. So does Star Trek (if it even gets launched).

The people have spoken developers, we prefer overwhelmingly sandbox MMO's. Its time to rethink those boring linear quest-driven concepts.

Eve wins best MMO once again

SWG loses hundreds of thousands of players once it dumps its sandbox game for a linear design.

The evidence is clear. Why not give the folks what they want ?

Eve fanbois all 15k of them on their little ONE server are like rabid little wolves when it comes to awards or any polls with that games name in it.

Few people in the whole MMORPG genre even play that game but the very few that play it stick together like some extended family.

Bottom line is that when I hear about EVE winning something on here I take it with a grain of salt.  When it starts winning game of the year on Spike TV, IGN, or some other gamming site then I will then start taking it serious.  Since that means more then the 15k people on that one little server  have taken notice of EVE.

I think the outdoor towers they added were actually a good addition..  People talked about how noone ever PVPed there but I think that depended on what sever you joined.

On Illidan those towers are always going off in World Defense, but on 2 of the younger servers I joined before I went back to Illidan hardly anyone would fight over them.  So agian sometimes people are on servers where not much happens other times people are on servers where it all types of **** goes down.
