I just left the NCsoft launcher running that way if the patch comes out while AFK it will automatically start the download, thats about all you can do to catch it right when it hits.

Good stuff

I agree with this as well, I have run AVG for years on a couple of my systems and also have a lot of friends who run it as well.

I am also looking forward to this game as are many others and I havent even played it yet. All the positive feedback from those that are playing it just makes me want to play it even more.

There is only one other game I am looking at other then Aion and that is SWTOR which is still a ways off so the sooner Aion comes out the better..lol

agt smith I've never heard anyone gripe about EVE's camera and keybinds. This isn't WoW the gameplay is strategic- not jumpy/twitch. I think you are used to WoW behind-the-character 3rd person camera.

Now, I could see if you were think freelancer style though. But I dont think you're talking bout a freelancer chase cam but that wouldnt fit EVE anyway

Couldnt help but LMFAO at this comment not only because the first thing you could think of was to automatically throw WoW in there but the straight up fact is AgtSmith has never played WoW and has no interest in ever playing it.

Once upon a time, at a gamestop not too far away from where we are now, there was a copy of Lineage II sitting on the shelf all alone. Buyers came, and went, yet he still sat alone on the shelf. He wondered, every time someone bought a copy of WoW over him, why no one loved him. He wondered what he did wrong that WoW did so right.

One day, a day much like any othe day, a woman came in to buy a copy of WoW for her son. That little copy on Lineage II let his curiosity get the best of him. He dove off the shelf into her purse. Once she laid her purse down in the car he quickly scurried into the back seat to avoid detection. As they drove he sat and talked to the copy of WoW. He asked him many questions. He learned a lot that day, about why people loved WoW, and, most importantly, why no one seemed to love him. He learned that his animations weren't smooth enough, his user interface wasn't friendly enough for beginners. He learned that his character creation was weak, even compared with the weakest of games. Most importantly though, he learned that he was a grind- fest. "Being a grind fest", WoW had told him, "Was ok in Korea and other parts of Asia, but not here in America. That's why no one loves you".

Lineage II was heart-broken. He thought long and hard on the way to the womans house about what he needed to do. He thought first about going to Korea, but he was a localized version and most Koreans wouldn't be able to play him. His thoughts quickly turned to suicide. "If no one loves me", he thought, "Then why am I here?".

Upon reaching the woman’s home he went to leave. Before he could the little copy of WoW told him one last thing. "I used to be a copy of Everquest" he said. As she took her copy of WoW in to her son, Lineage II walked down the street. After walking for almost an hour he came to a bridge. "This is it" he thought. He jumped. He fell for what seemed to be an eternity. What he hit wasn't the rocky waves below though, oh no! He landed on a soaring eagle, flying through the sky. He realized what that little copy of WoW had meant when he said "I used to be a copy of Everquest". He realized then what he needed to do. Taking the reins of the eagle he flew back to his lonely gamestop.

It was then that he changed. It was then that he turned down the suck, and turned up the awesome. It was then that Aion was born.

That's the story of Aion.  Written because I know that's what everyone who says Aion=Linneage thinks.

Stop being so dense it's not Lineage II, the game is very different.

LOL.. nicely done!

I think most are waiting for the patch 1.05 or 1.5 whichever it is supposed to be.

That patch is supposed to be the big one to fix and add many things so I would guess the re-review would be better off after that comes out. At least that is what I think things are waiting on and I know a few friends and I are also waiting to see what that patch brings.

Simple question

Thank you

thats bad news =(  I like killing bots.....

Well one type of class can pk bots or there own faction. Spiritmasters can use there pet to aggro 4-5 mobs> run the pet over to the guy> then dismiss the pet> dude will die.

I did it all the time when I played my SM in Korea.

LOL... classic! Thanks for the idea too, may have to do this myself once the game hits NA.

@Geriden: No it's nothing like AoC or WAR, the only loading screens you see are when you teleport between zones and your faction's main city. It's much closer to WoW in that respect than AoC and WAR which are chopped up. You hardly see any loading screen for hours, and when you do it lasts a couple of seconds (most of the times I don't have time to read the tip on it ) and doesn't kill the immersion, IMO at least.

@Enforcer:  You can create 8 characters on a server from the same faction. Concerning guilds, there's all the normal stuff like ranks, guild history, self intro, announcements etc. Yes there's a guild bank (Legion warehouse) for which you need permission to use. The interface looks nice and is easy to use.

I don't know much about guild events, maybe someone else can answer this!

Was very glad to hear this answer, was one of my main concerns. Thanks for the answers, much appreciated!

Hi Elderotter,

I'm not going to poke fun at you, or argue to continue fighting as I understand that this is your game along with Jackdog, and Lugal and many others here.  HOWEVER you should re-read the content of my reply, as I stated it was a group orientated quest to be done by a group.  The quest was unable to be passed around to other's.  I believe this was clearly stated.

I think I had stated about 10 time's that LOTRO is a good game, infact very good.  I guess I could understand how everyone is so defensive here because it's mmorpg.com and this is what everyone does with all games on this board.

Opposite of what some of you think.  I'm a very social player in my mmo's.  I really get along with others and often I'm the one that brings ppl together to have fun.  You know the shy solo players, that don't know how to play as a group.   Well they are my friends and often I change them around.

I really really would like to play this game.  Infact I still think I will despite the chain group orientated quest.  I'll find a guild that uses ventrilo voice chat, That may help to overcome what Turbine should fix.

To all that love LOTRO,,,,,,,,, Do you not agree that group quest should not be chain quest ?  After all your getting ppl together to reach a common goal, and everyone should be able to do the same quest at hand.

I know where your coming from on that, it seems this is the one big problem I have seen in game for many people. A friend and I always ran into this issue and when we did find people to group up to do these chain quests we always ended up re-doing everything to get the others caught up in the chain quest to where we needed them to be.

Then you would have someone drop from the group or couldnt finish so you had to find another to replace them and usually ended up repeating everything again to get them caught up, very frustrating.

Lotro is a really good game but I must agree the group chain quests are a major let down as it got to the point to where I didnt want to do them anymore but the sad thing was those quests usually had the best rewards.

I was wondering does the game Feel like a world , or is it all split up like Warhammer or AoC  (i dont mean instanced dungeons) like do you load every zone or is it seamless

I would also like an answer to the above question if possible.

Also how many toons per server, same faction of course?

How are the guild control options, are there guild banks and such? Is there a way in game to set up guild events?

Would be great to see a smuggler class, definately a plus!

Took a bit to download but well worth it. Great Video!

Close ups were great, nice to see the crispness of the graphics.

I blame it on the games themselves actually, for instance, SWG of old. If you had wounds you had to find a doctor or find a camp site set up by a scout or ranger and for relaxing your mind you found an entertainer. If you wanted the good armor or weapons you made friends with the best crafters in the game and so on. SWG had one of the best communities I have ever experianced in a game until they messed it up.

Nowadays most things looted far outway the crafted items most of the time and you dont really take any actual battle damage or fatigue that requires you to find someone to help heal it which in turn usually started conversation and so on. Today most people just talk in guild chat and like someone said a lot use Ventrillo or Teamspeak.

I still like to say hello to people I run into or help someone I see that might be in need even if I dont get a hello back or a thanks, to me it doesnt matter its just something I prefer to do. Unfortunately most games today do not worry so much about community, its more about just supplying someone a place to go and enjoy to take the everyday stress away.

haha i dont remember housing in Conan..i thot they were always on the move...isnt that what games are supposed to be? as said before if u need housing for immersion, u need to be looking for a diff kind of mmo, rather than expect the current crop of mmo's to provide you with housing.

You are right, the current crop of MMOs don't provide housing. Also an odd coincidence that the current crop of MMOs completely suck.

You are also right, I am looking for a different kind of MMO. I'm looking for the kind that requires an active brain. I'm looking for the kind that encourages social interaction. I'm looking for the kind that used to be made, before they started being massed produced for the inept masses. SWG had an awesome housing system(only one major flaw which was easily fixable if SOE was at all competant). Great game.

I loved the housing and guild halls of SWG and people really went all out to make theirs look unique. Some were turned into shops with multiple merchants some just displaying rare items they collected and so on. I am so glad I took a lot of pictures of the housing in SWG, I never would of guessed housing would never be like that again.

This is not the game you are looking for... move along.

After getting my level 80 elemental shaman in a raid guild, after doing the same 3-4 heroic instances to get the gear i needed to raid, I joined a raid guild, constantly we did the same raid naxxramas, eye of eternity and malygos those three same raids, the same thing over and over and over again. Just hoping for loot.

When I was leveling my alt to 80, something just came accross my mind that this is what I will be doing with this character, the same few instances, to the same few raids just to to keep grinding for loot and waiting months after months for a different raid.  There was no different exploration, there was no different content, it was rushing to 80 to do the same grind that i did on my shaman.

Is it worth it? The 15 dollars a month to constantly do this same repetition? Then I quit WoW. but is this problem just in WOW?  Are there any mmorpgs with a different end game where there are different goals? If there is can any one recommend me one? I am extremely bored and its not that I am burned out there is a big difference between being burned out and just plain bored.

So can any one recommend me a mmorpg or am I going to go back to single player rpgs and wait for the next best thing?

People pay a lot of money to roll a big 16 pound ball down a lane and knock over the same 10 pins over and over and over again.

I don't see them complaining.

But seriously, name one game where you don't basically don the same thing over and over again?

Had to laugh at this, good one!

sounds to me like you limited YOURSELF. why were those 3 or 4 raids the ONLY ones you did? stop treating the game like a 2nd job. try forgetting about DKP's and  stats and getting the "right" gear.. try HAVING FUN. why does it have to be so serious?

people these days are so focused on being uber or being "geared" that they forget to have fun

Great post and so true!! This is the biggest problem in MMORPG's today, everything is rush rush rush instead of just enjoying the game.

and this is said by the player who ists in one of the main towns and talk bullshit allday long :)

ok what else there is to funa bout in this game other than raid nor pvp?

when main story is already played and completed wich i mean leveling and adventuring wich in my case is the thing.

and wich also includes the fun bit.

so only option in this kinda situation is merely to quit and wait something else,

maybe go out and have some fun with nonpixelated persons :)

cheers

If you are refering to me you got it wrong big time, I am never in a city talking the only talking I do is in guild chat.

I do many things in this game and still have my share of purples and I hardly ever run dungeons due to my game time. I cook, fish, help guildies and even strangers I see having problems. There are a bunch of things to do in any game you just pick something and do it. I do not have to run dungeons to get things, I do not have to be mister high and mighty. I play the game for the enjoyment of playing. I have a real life and a real job so why make the game a job as well?

Love the videos and many things about the game but the damn follow a path idea instead of exploring where ever and whenever has me bummed. We shall see I guess, definately worth trying out.

Expect to see this in the early stages, like the first 2 map's (lvl1-20). It does lead you in one direction.  After that it does open up and you can explore more.

Well that is something I am glad to hear. I can deal with it in early levels as long as I dont feel so tied down later on in game, eases my worry a bit.
