Well I would take any of this with a grain of salt. I mean really, we've been in a rescission for what now 2-3 years and just about every state but a handful have had high unemployment  for almost the same amount of time. No industry is making nearly as much money as they did  before all this hit the fan. It just makes sense that the hobby/entertanment sectors are the hardest hit. Just look at the money from the theater/movie industry and how low its dropped compare to previous years. As someone that works in retail this is no surprise at all.

When you have millions unemployed and millions more praying they are still employed by the time the holidays come around like the about 100k plus from the post office that may or may not have jobs come christmas and the fact that some mmo devs came up 5% short this year seems silly at the least. I love my hobby. I've been an avid gamer since before some of these posters were even born but if I had to pick anyone to lose money it would have to be the gaming industry. There are just way too many other things to be worried about right now and other places where my money can be better spent.

Totally Agree!

The patch was definately awesome, I mean a patch like that only after what a month of gameplay? I have been impressed with Trion as a whole they have really impressed me with a lot of things.

I have been very happy with the Trion team, they have suprised me a lot. This just shows the quality of the team, kudos!

Almost everybody I know in game hasn't even looked back.  Starting the 30th they are having a week long world event with unique drops and gear, plus adding new content.  I'm not going anywhere.

Same had a few friend old legion/guild mates from WoW/AION/and some F2P games i played and each one of them are still playing, almost all of them higher lvls then myself.. I'd be playing a lot more if it wasn't for work but im still havin a blast.. I'll be stickin with Rift until SWTOR, i can already see that.. Trion is a great company and i'd love to support them.

This is exactly how I feel, I am not going anywhere.

Thanks for all the replies, I guess I will have to watch steam closer since they seem to have good deals. I usually use direct2drive but wouldnt hurt to watch both.

Thanks again!

O.K. here is a stupid question. I have been playing games for years but I have never used Xfire, Steam or Raptr and i was wondering what exactly do most of you use these for? Is it just the communication amongst other gamers? The deals $ you can get or is there something I am missing?

Just trying to figure out if I should join one of them or if its a waste of time. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If you think the community for any of the upcoming mmo's will be any better once the masses decend into them your kidding yourself. Communties resemble societies general make-up much closer now, hence the noticeable increase in asshats.

Complaining about it won't help. Either you quit playing mmo's or find a guild of like minded people and play with them. I play with a bunch of adults across multiple games, some of us are hardcore-ish, men and women, some married and have kids, some suck at games but we all share a common goal to enjoy our time online hassle free. We joke and pay each other out and generally avoid global chat channels.

I've just pre-ordered Xsyon because a bunch of the guild was giving it a shot.

Sounds like a great bunch, wish i could find that.

Classic signs, hmm. Well, here a few I could think of:

- whatever you do, you can't get that MMO fix anymore that MMORPG's used to give you, that initial bliss from when you started playing MMO's

- you keep hopping from one MMO to another, playing them for a short while even if you're not really enjoying them but only going through the motions while playing them.

- you notice that certain MMO game mechanics that used to excite you now only tire you or even nauseates you. Whatever MMO you play, as soon as you encounter them you feel it sucks any fun you could have out of you, leaving you with a feeling of boredom and grind.

- you are spending more and more time surfing frustratedly on MMO forums looking in vain for an MMO that might suit you instead of playing MMO's, where back when you had great fun in MMO's it was more the other way around.

- you start wondering more and more if MMORPG's is still a thing for you, even while you rationalise that it must be so, you start despairing whether you will actually find one that will suit you. At the same time you recall the last time you really had fun in MMO's feels like ages ago.

Great answer!! This is exactly how I have felt for a long time.

Nice videos, thanks for sharing. Love the game and look forward to experiancing the world thats to come.

Excellent description!! This is exactly how I would of described it, I never even heard of this game until 3 days ago and since then I have been a player. Bought the game right away and actually cancelled my other game accounts; I see myself playing this game full time.

The freedom we have in this game is amazing and definately has what the sandbox gamers have been begging for. The way this works reminds me a lot of OLD SWG as in the fact the players build the community and that alone made SWG what it was.

People will specialize in crafts again and you will learn the best weapon makers, armorers and so on. If they stay on their "Vison" then the potential for this game is unlimited and in time I see them growing dev  and game wise.

Just wondering if it is possible to find some far off canyon or hidden area and actually live as a loner on this game?  Actually rp some crazy hermit who hides from or attacks strangers :P

Could you actually survive well completely on your own?  Can you actually move far enough from others you would be relatively isolated other than random explorers from time to time?

Sorry if silly questions but wondering just how much space there is and how much is possible :)

You, my friend, are my kind of gamer!

I was thinking about this while considering the implications theis game's features offer, and I love the idea!

OK these 2 comments were enough for me to say screw it and pre-order, may just turn out to be the sleeper

That would be sweet!

Nice replies! Its nice to see others have noticed Trions little ways. I think its great they do things like that, makes you actually feel like your playing a game with friends instead of a Dev/Player type thing.

Believe it or not but thats a damn rare thing nowadays and it feels pretty damn good!

So far I have enjoyed this game and I have enjoyed listening to Trion, you can tell these peeps are players like us with the power to make the difference if they think it improves the game.

You have to give it up for Trion, I mean they make it fun before it even begins.

By far my favorite quote: "Bring it. We dare you. Because seriously, the riftspawn were saying some pretty rude things about all your moms."

Now this is just fu**ing GREAT!  I mean come on who isnt going to defend their mom...LOL

Considering I didnt know anything about rift until Beta 4 and have now pre-ordered and subscribed I would say its a success. I know its not different or the next best thing but what it does accomplish is FUN! I am having a blast with the game and I still dont know all there is to know about everything.

To me this game is refreshing, it puts the best of the best together in one with great Devs that actually seem to listen to the player base in a good way. I enjoy the rift system and the fact at anytime a rift opens and if noone is around to close it then eventually you have things happening everywhere. Total chaos at anytime, you better watch where you logged out!

SOE Sony has a great track record of improving their games and they do not die.

 Definately the best!

damn I keep trying to pre-order but everytime I click checkout it tells me I have nothing to buy

Wow! I am actually shocked to see so many positive remarks for Aion 2.0, thats a rare thing on this website. All these remarks have actually convinced me to re-download the game and give it another shot.
