I find it amazing that people actually believe the above. Devs have been promising everything to everyone if they had more time. Yeah, we know, this is why they keep changing the goal posts. Used to be games were released without patches. Then patches came for a rare problem. Now they brainwashed players to even expect patches, because they rush the game to market unfinished (and the players praise the betaware, even). 

 

If players give up official forums for $50 priced games, the only fools are the players themselves, as they are being brainwashed -- yet again -- to believe devs will have more time to fix their game now. They never have enough time, and the expected patch life of a AAA game is only 2 years, as that's all the money publishers will give to maintain it.

More players are willing to give up, the more they'll be ripped off in the end. First it's Wal-Marts, then in time there won't be anyone to ask for help with, but these third party sites with questionable credentials and often poorly moderated.

What do I really have to BELIEVE here really? All I know I need to know is wether the fact of the loss of an official forum will be negative or irrelevant for my gameplay experience of the game I'm about to play.

Brainwashed is also a very interesting word to use here. Again, I don't question their decisions in any way but I'm just interested in seeing what way they have in mind to handle player feedback.

You'r also jumping way ahead in league here with stuff like "in the end" and so on. Just wait and see what happends. If they really have nothing in mind to handle the playerbase's opinions they'd already fail. As far as I can see now, 2 major changes have happened to the game during beta. And I've heard lots of people comment that they truly listen to feedback.

the difference between 3rd party and official forums is that on the official ones people get PAID for banning people who misbehave

Obviously, all things you could possibly want to say to "devs" can be solved and they already have thought about that. Forums isn't the best way to reach the devs.

Then use the forums. Or ask people you play with.

I want to do this on a website related to the company making the game and not some 3rd party passover, where one site will ultimately get preferential treatment than others.

And you just HAVE to do it in a forum don't you? You really can't even remotely imagine any other way? You refuse to adapt to anything else?

Also your view on unofficial forums is VERY narrow to say the least. Also, updates on the game usually can be seen in the launcher in many games I have played. Don't know if this is in WAR though.

And you'r assumptions on that you miss out on stuff is also very narrow. You really should wait and see before getting this paranoid over nothing.

If it's such a pain to register to "3rd party forums" you really shouldn't deserve any support in any forum. You'd have to register to any official forum anyway so what's the catch?

Cause in every none official WAR forum iv ever read, you can always find your way back out by following the traile of dead beaten Horses. 

 

Now we just have to tune in to this monotunous channel which plays the same tracks over and over other than silence (which at least would not drive you insane)

I am a forum person... and I would really prefer if WAR got a pretty normal sub count (200k or lower) so maby less hype about small stuff like this would vanish completely.

I will probably be very disgruntled if WAR got a "WoW" community >_>

every comment on this matter are just so patethic IMO. Who the heck cares? I only see grumpy people trying to play detectives looking into every single detail about Mythic to try and find out something about them that makes them look like thieves in peoples eyes so they can feel better inside.

why would anybody care about this anyway? everything you want with a forum can be fullfilled in other forums. all help you need with the game can be solved in-game. and there are probably many more ways of letting the devs know you are unsatisfied with something about the game.

if you think official forums are the most effective way of solving things you are deluding. official forums are jokes and it's only where people go when they are bored to vent about everything and nothing. very helpful, eh?

So much fuzz about nothing. Official forums is where people go when they want to vent their immaturities because they are temporarily bored of the game

2 reasons I don't care about and neither do I think it will be a real problem. Anyway I don¨'t like reading posts like theese befoe it is actually a REAL problem and all predictions I only feel are annoying

Blablablablabla AOC blablablabla WAR. 90% of all sentences have sources without no real insight anyway so why listen to any of it.

I think both games will be good, based on the overall impressions I've had from examinating both games. However, to me, a MMORPG miracle only happends once. That was SWG to me and I know I won't ever be as happy about a MMORPG again as I was then.

So instead I will play WAR as a game without any real commitment as I'd have to put into a game where you build cities and a game that is more in-depth (AoC). That way I will probably not play AoC because I've had it with games that I feel tied up to.

I hate this... it feels so close now... yet it's still some time left. I really just hope for getting into beta ASAP now because I can't wait for the game to be released... I just can't

Why I'll pick Warhammer? Because of what it is. A intensive get-in-and-out type of gameplay that gives me my PvP fix I fail to get in other more in-depth RPG games.

Haha. I also wanna know when I can pre-order. But most of all I just want a release date!

I was very pleased reading this:

Finally someone who gets it. That leveling, pure and simple, you know, like recieving a plastic spoon and placed in front of a 10ft brick wall and be told to dig through it ONLY using the plastic spoon - kind of gameplay, is only meant to be tutorial wise and nothing else!

I start counting seconds now... to make sure time goes forward...!
