If your using Vista make sure you "run as administrater" when installing. (just right click the dl files and enable the option). |

Hi, Still not able to get into the game due to error 3001 so have decided to uninstall it all then start again from fresh. I noticed that the game is 8.30gb and ALL of the expansions are the same, is this game really that big? 46.5gb does seem very big for a game One last thing is there anything i need to DL if playing this game in vista? |

As you can see it clearly states they use port 25, seems strange to me also. I can post the whole doc if anyone would like to see it. I have just received my mac code from AOL and will be switching over to Tiscali, takes between 10 - 15 days i believe. Cya all in game soon |

I have just purchased FFxi 2008 pack for all of the expansions (on the pc). I have had no luck at all being to get into the game. I keep on getting the error 3001 message. I have contacted POL regarding this and they sent me a document to read and have suggested that it is my router that is blocking some parts and stopping me from entering the game. One of the things it mentions in the document is that various ports should be opened and one of them is port 25. now this is where the problem starts, AOL UK in its infinate wisdom has closed down port 25 to all users citing security issues as the reason, my netgear router does not have port forwarding in it so I therefore struggle to get into the game. I have spoken in length to netgear who say it is an ISP issue, The person I spoke to at AOL UK asked if i could receive e-mails from my AOL account, apparently he thought that if I could then port 25 could not possibly be closed. I would be interested to see if any other AOL UK users have had this problem and if so how did they overcome it?, I have asked how to get around it at POL but all they would say is that it is a connection issue and therefore not there problem. Anyone notice that now the forums have changed over at DnL that the fanboy/shills have once again re-appeared. Even some of the old fanboys have dug themselves out of wherever they were hiding to say how they are going to try it out.
Are these people really that dillusioned as to forget everything that farlan has/has not done after all the countless promises, yet in the same breath say how they will never ever play the game that they were playing for years due to some changes in the game (swg). is it the "I was right all the time" syndrome that is making them reappear, so if the game does somehow take off again and become successful they will turn round and say I have supported this game from the start here is the proof, and point us all to the positive posts they made, Or if more likely the game fails then once again they will turn round and say something like "I alway knew the game would fail, here is what I said at the time". Perhaps it is worse than that, maybe just maybe it is selective memory that is making them do this, After all, the list of some of the negative history of Farlan is becoming shorter and shorter with each post. Indeed is it only a matter of time before we will regularly be reading on the DnL forums that such a such a player's only gripe with the company was that the standard issue robes/chest piece etc was the wrong colour at the noob starting area? But now we can change the colour when i upgrade means the game is really awsome, then they will have the sheer audacity to put "again". So lets all play. Everybody has the right too change their opinions on things regardless of what others think, The one thing that NO ONE has the right to do is to change/alter the history of things, by trivialising what Farlan did is also (in my opinion) trying to alter the history, Never forget that what farlan did was bordering on the illigal in most countries. This is one major factor that should not be ignored, If you were an employer and were recruiting staff to fill a key position within your company and one of the applicants who applied just happened to mention that out of the last 4 companies who employed them, they managed to bankrupt (single handedly) 3 of them, the only reason they were not in jail was due to technicalities, would you consider them for employment on their track record? I guess not!!! Thanks for reading through this, these represent my views at this time and I may exercise my right to change these views in the future, I may on the other hand deny ever writing this or I might even link this post to every site I visit, who knows what the future may hold. Anyway stay happy and try to remain true to your real beliefs. |

When someone gets banned from the DnL forums all access to accounts etc is ceased. the only option to actually cancel playing the game is to do so through your account. If they have denied access this means you would be unable to cancel. Is this legal?
By going to C&B right away you find you are unable to cancel until farlan has verified your request, this being the same request they ban you from making. So Farlan could never verify the request as they would never of received one in the first place. |

I cant access anything on the site until I log out, (I was on auto log-in). Site seems to be up and running just cant log anything in, and on the forums I have banned under my name :-) |

Yes, paying but not playing customer.
seems as though my IP has been banned or barred as well. Cant get in under any alts either so therefore cant ask any of the mods to the reason why I got banned. TBH not really sure I could be classed as a paying customer, I opened up a pioneer account and have never selected what option to purchase, I just ignored all the panic when it was first announced we had to so we could activate our free gameplay. To this day I could log into the game, without choosing the freedom pack or the master pack. Does seem strange though as to why they chose to ban me now, without any kind of warning or explaination, especially due to the fact I have been been holding back on a lot of things I wanted to say :) |

Oh well, looks as though you dont have to do anything these days to get a ban.
Just looked into the the dnl forums and for some reason my account has been banned, no warning or reason given they didnt even give me a timescale to how long the ban will be for. Perhaps they blame me for the game being as bad as it is. It would be interesting to see if I had been banned from the game as well. |

Hi folks, Just wondering if there are any other pioneers out there who have not made it past the log in stage of the game? I have become extremely able over the past two days at reading error messages I am sure that the tree that is planted in DnL for me with my history on it will say " He could of changed this world had he been able to log in" Still very positive here, cya all in game |

This is the latest in a long line of error messages i have had since game release. So far 2 days as a pioneer and i still cant get beyond the log in screen or get replies from my e-mails. On a positive note though things can only improve for me :-) |

, had to start all over again.
. I also managed to uninstall all of the expansions but uninstalling the main game has taken in excess of an hour so far and i have less than 10% uninstalled so far, I went into remove programs and uninstalled that way, i still have the POL installed but will uninstall that once the main game has gone. It seems a long time to uninstall something, again am i doing something wrong?
(I hope).
Must be getting close to a thousand by now.
