Of course it is not easy. And Darkfall has not even advertised a pre-order?

IMO they are trying to bring something to this genre that has been missing for a long time. Why is that a bad thing?

Why can't we hope and try to believe?

What does it cost us? It costs so little to buy a game and it costs so much to develop one. Many companies lose investments and years of their effort when their games flop.

Ffs.. Laurann. We gotta believe. What else is there for us to play, dont you see? There's just Darkfall and its' kind left. None of us want to play some of the games that have been out for years. They are just not good enough. They are too old fashioned and theme park is a thing of the past for a lot of us.

Believing in Darkfall is not a crime. It's a fair thing to do. I hope you can understand that.

I've watched them all, and have followed DFO since its shadowbane days. If those videos are any indication, if the devs, the screens, the phony "leaks" the recent gameplay footage, and the highly vague interviews/previews are indicative of whats supposedly in development, then I weep for ANYONE thinking this game is coming out in less than 10 days. I've seen the misdirection that is so typical of Adonis, Brannoc and Tasos, and I'm baffled why none of the fanbois here can see through the BS?

See the problem is folks, is that I know these "supposed' developers. I've worked with them before. I've alpha's development projects, and I've helped Dan (which is a thief in the truest sense of the word) leverage cash on a past project.

You fanbois that are trudging along with your fingers in your ears, while you sing "lalalalalalala" and the duct tape over your eyes, are going to get it ripped off while the 400 pound "I told ya so" gorilla is stomping your guts out. Oh, and Jon, why do you continue to keep this game on the list? Managing editor? You should be ashamed of yourself. Letting people waste their time here on a product that you KNOW is not coming out, for the sake of advertising dollars just screams lowlife. 

I know one of the programmers on the team named Dan A. Maybe you all should do some digging to see how much money he and the others that were with him ripped off while working from the great country of Romania before he packed up his tent stakes and ran... I'll give you a clue, it was a mmo game RIGHT before DNL.

I'm not going to debate this post, hopefully it will wake someone up long enough to pull yon head from dark, stinky hole, and get on with life...

To me.. on  a very personal level this is a triumph!

I have come to this site regularly for 4 years now and for me... that darkfall takes this award. It is just great. I am very happy and I feel this is completely deserved!

While you hope for Dark and LIght to come back I suggest you go to play Darkfall. It launches in a few weeks and it is going to be a fun rollercoaster ride with a lot of sandbox elements. Much like Dark and LIght =)

Yes re-launch. The game is being developed by Snailgames in China. Im sorry if you don't believe it, but I am pretty that's actually the case. pretty cool, huh?

Perhaps it will re-launch in asia only. Hmm.. That would be bad. But, I can't blame the devs. There is a lot of bad publicity from places like mmorpg.com.

It's actually a really good game. And it's not broken like a lot of you try to make it out to be.

Dark and Light still has a chance in my oppinion. It was a great concept, had groundbreaking technology. But, the code for it was a mess.  .. The code is being re-worked in China and I believe it will have another chance. I certainly will support it when the time comes for Snailgames to re-launch the game.

Maybe they want to make a different title. I'm not sure as there have been no word on it. But, I doubt that a game like this and of this caliber could just die and be left behind by it's developers. :)

I hope it won't be Asian only when it re-launches. And I hope it won't be too long.

Anyway.. My full support is now with Darkfall. I am anticipating that game with great interest. I have great faith in Aventurine. They seem to be very tightknit, dedicated and intelligent. They have the right perspective of gaming and I believe they are actually more quaified than Np3Cube was. No disrespect meant. I have a really good feeling about Darkfall.

Right now the Darkfall boards are doing extremely well. It is the most anticipated game in the world.

My words would drown.. Therefore, I have focused on contributing to the community by building an exceptional sandbox company to take advantage of the expansive and extensive economical possibilities of freedom in Darkfall. Launch is very near and I think it will be a rollercoaster ride in heaven just like Dark and Light was. I always think back at my experiences in Dark and Light. I loved that game with my whole heart. Hehe.. Well, I didn't like it so much when rangers got overpowered pets, lol. But, that is another story and I was actually about to come back and give it another half a year to get to level 100. Unfortunately, I had problems with the installation and the download. And then it went offline.

May good luck always follow Darkfall and unlucky stuff like the shit with Pix stay away. Imagine if Tasos Flambouras or Kjetil Halland quit the devlopment team. Damn... . Anyways. I have to go work on my Darkfall company now.

Sorry. But, you can't have that map. The information of who is entitled to one must be lost by now. Stop making bad public relations for Dark and Light. It is a nice and visionary title. It deserves to be supported a little bit instead for all the things it did so well.

A map is insignificant. The best gift would be a re-launch with Mafate 2.0. :)

Dark and Light is still alive. I think it's being developed in China.This is a place where people actually work hard on games and don't quit just because they greedy. And then even get more greedy.

It's here because there are fans who want to talk about Dark and LIght. Also. It is not confirmed that it is dead. It is in fact actually still in development in China as far as I know. Vuuar just had to take the servers away to use for beta testing in China, I think. And not many were unfortunately playing... But it will be back. U will see.

I double paid too. As far as I remember, it was a mistake partly on my side because I clicked the wrong things and because the billing operator was slightly messy.

It was no biggy though. I actually enjoyed thinking that I had helped NP3Cube get some money back into their investment.

I paid the game for some months without playing it as I needed a break at the time, but still wanted to support Dark and Light.

Yes, it's true. I am actually anticipating Darkfall with all of my soul now and I hope that this game can become as good as Dark and Light was. Hopefully, it will have even more features and have less problems from the launch. Np3cube was really unlucky to have PIX work for them. .. I think Snailgames are doing a much better job in China. Don't worry. We have not seen the last of Stephane Quillichini. I am sure he is working as good as he can on a comeback with Dark and Light. He's just not talking because he is French and has a grudge against the community. .. Dark and Light will be back one day. Maybe in one year, maybe in two years. Maybe Stephane wants to re-use some of the concept and technology in Dark and Light into a new title, .. And when Dark and Light does come back I will buy a subscription and enjoy playing the game. 

I just hope there will be GMs like there was and that Vuuar will log on. Hehe. It was great to see him hang out in the game during the stress test. Lots of fun.

PvP was definitely fun in such a large world. I can't wait for Darkfall.

However, my full support is now with Darkfall Online. I plan to have a subscription for Darkfall from day 1 untill it's death many, many years later.I hope I can afford it. .. I'm guessing Darkfall online is going to survive for about 10-15 years.

I have great plans for Darkfall. In my oppinion it's going to be the most revolutionary and promising virtual reality game ever to see the light of day. Aventurine are visionaries like NP3Cube and Phillipe Campion was. I look forward to it =)

And launch is a short time away.

SWG is much better in its' curret state than it ever was.

SOE actually fought back the dumbing down wanted by Lucasarts. They fought back so well that the best thing to do was to make a new MMO: TOR. Now Lucasarts can tell Bioware to dumb it down.

Well.. At least it will have a nice storyline.THats what KOTOR was about anyway

When we get something new and different and awesome, and people STILL want the same old crap, THEN you can say this.

If the majority of people wanted something new there would be more hype surrounding earthrise, eve, darkfall, mortal online, jumpgate eve, ect then there currently is. Furthermore, if people wanted something entirely new and different WotLK wouldn't of sold as much as it did, nor would WoW be back up to like 20mill+ subs.
 
Look at all the games that are currently being hyped by a good majority of the mmo community. Hell just look at the Aion forums, nearly everyone (trolls excluded) there knowingly admits that nothing in that game is new but are still crazy about the game. Look at what people have said about SWOR, look at what SWG was changed into, look at WAR, or for that matter any other game on list to the left.\

That's proof enough for me that the majority of people like the WoW modle.

AoC simply attempted to expand upon the current modle but left some key features out to make the game more balanced for PvP (itemization being #1 with crafting a close second) and introduced a new combat system for melee. What was people's reaction. Complete and utter hatred and disdain that turned Funcom into Failcom (that and "lies").

The hype around next-generation is big enough. You don't know what you're talking about.

The gamers around the world who buy WOTLK expansion or follow Aion do it because they know the game very well/are hooked and because graphics are hawt.

The main point is that a lot of players don't know how awesome a game with great features really is. If a game like Darkfall can get past the inedvidable launch problems and develop well for 2 years. It will be a much more fun title. I have no doubt that players will love the next-generation games. It's just that there aren't very many of them around now, so they don't know them or how they feel to play.
