Ahhh my naive optimistic little friend.

First of all Aventurine is not UbiSoft. And never will have the marketing power of a company like that.

Secondly , you ASSUME people are dying for a sandox game but if you look at the market it clearly shows that they are not.

If that was the case than there would a plethora of Sanbox games being built and already out.

Ubisoft bought shadowbane after launch so this arguement dosent make sence..
 

also.. this arguement is crazy to me.. it is fair to argue that darkfall isnt happening.. but to say if it is released it is feature complete it will only get 20k subscribers is insane.. i agree it wont get millions... but there is a huge niche of people begging for this exact game.. all over wow and many other forums..

all mmo's worth playing are p2p... im waiting for df also.. if u want a game thats out now vanguard is the best imo.. although its nothing like what u are talking about... its a great sandbox pve game.. and of all the total crap that is out it is ontop by far imo.. and thats what im playing until a true pvp sandbox like DF comes out

I don't hate people who currently play SWG but it bugs me when viral marketers and other shills (paid or unpaid) lie about the state of the game to trick more people into paying for it.

I play on seradon, its the most populated server.. i see many people everywhere i go, im lvl 21 now however.. it was less when i started

its ok to play goblin if you want to be one, use the riftway system to to to any starting area you want.. use /ooc to ask if any new players are online 2 group with

Vanguard and Ultima Online are the only sandbox games right now.. since EA has taken many huge craps on UO.. i suggest VG because it is constantly improving.. its a very good game
 

i completely agree.. but it aint happening.. the good news is vg is already good tho

i didnt come back.. but i did just recently start and it is the 2nd best mmorpg i have played for sure... and by far the best option right now.. the game is truely amazing

play Vanguard its the esact opposite of AoC

VG is by far the best MMORPG out right now.. i suggest anyone who has this opportunity take it and try it out..

play vanguard because its pretty much the exact opposite except VG has better graphics..

i never played SWG but i would join to see what all the fuss is about.. seemed like a great game

i agree with everything the OP said..

and about the FFA PvP, there are a couple misconceptions and I’m going to explain them with my extreme bias =D

first of all, in UO there weren’t levels, i agree FFA PVP is a bad idea in games with lvls because there is absolutely no possibility of beating 20 levels about you.. even 5 people 20 levels below often cant kill someone higher

levels are a restriction, much like linear quests systems and tailored classes that suck away immersion and should not be in an MMO

The lack of FFA PVP is an invisible barrier that makes the world fake, as opposed to living and breathing.. you can hate it.. and most people that hate it are weak people imo.. just like in real life they cant roll with the punches.. when the going gets tough you figure out how to improve your situation.. whether in real life or not...

you cry about how pvp is hard just like how you probably cry about how college is hard or work is hard...

in a game with out levels, people with substantially less skill can beat people that are "higher lvled" if they are genuinely better than them..

yes a noob cant compete but he can get through it.. when i started UO, i was a miner, I got PKed.. guess what i didnt cry and quit.. i worked on being able to defend myself..

i almost have my bachelors degree.. and i will be going off to get my masters in business finance.. i credit a lot of my drive to when i played UO back when i was 13 and beyond

i get a bit heated about this topic not only because the games being made are garbage but because of the overwhelming evidence that the majority of humanity is lazy and wants to be spoon feed.. WoW is a sociology experiment that has proven that most people are lazy pieces of crap who want life on easy mode and hate challenges

the closest thing to a sandbox game right now is vanguard.. and it is excellent

other than that, whenever someone trys to make a sandbox game a million players scream vaporwear... i believe eventually some will be coming out tho... and am going to play vanguard until then

guildwars sounds like the game for you, its not really an mmo tho

has great pve until max lvl then great pvp.. and theres no monthly fee.. but u have to buy the games

the best real mmo out right now is vanguard imo... no pvp tho
