well made it to level 46.5 and no more missions doable until 49 in howling maw, which will take you to 50, calculating the documented 36 broken or bugged missions that required gm intervention and were not handled (until up to a week later in some cases) on avg 2 days time, this left my getting credit for turn in on those missions at levels the exp did nothing for me. so now i have a level and a bit over half to grind out. not good.

as i have stated many times the customer service in this game stinks to high hell, great game, cool idea, lousy support, not a good mix. the new patch is on the test server but only 1 server gets high level content tested (character copy), some rotation thing......bad idea imo. having some wild email ping pong with these nc soft folks, really sorry group, as they do not understand the difference between "shortly" and three days later.

anyways, will grind till the patch comes out. the customer support in this game wears a person down with the lack of response, just when you get going ingame, you hit a storyline wall, and all the fun you were having just goes to $!%^&. be good.

the only thing i see in tr thats bad are the lack of adequately trained GM's. there are alot of story driven missions broken or broken by the players ability to finish missions in different ways or simply activate a trigger when you shouldnt, killing the mission and requiring GM intervention (alot of these), this causes lots of problems. some i saw addressed in beta, many more i did not. without enough customer service to help out on these borked missions it has been hell at times in game. as for new folks, as i stated before i see alot  starter mission questions and new names in general.

as for the OP i read some of their previous posts on other games, this person borders on the t word and from what i have seen is trying really hard to get folks to ackowledge him and his posts. none ask for concious discussion on any particular topic but they do start with the same grand theme, themselves.

like many, i like the game, even with its faults, fully aware possibly better games are on the way. i will give it a few more months since it is only a couple old. TR! get that customer service rolling!!

read through before typing or responding.

many missions are broken (cant wait for that one troll to say whoa again) by many i mean more than 20. this includes missions undoable becaus certain instances were completed, again, GM's will be required to fix those if ever. a january  patch is due anytime. to date i have had a gm fix 3 and simply give me credit for them since the posted petitions were days old. this game needs more gm's desperately.  to date i have interacted with two, GM_rofl and GM christine. GM christine was helpful GM rofl was not. out of 14 petitions 1 has been answered (and to the clueless before you type, i know the diff between a broken quest and simply missing something)

customer service is abysmal, to include the emails recieved for your "not being ingame to contact you" when in actuality you are, this happens to many people, ask ingame. wait times are in the hours (if you want to wait that long) and submitting a petition is only worth it to get credit for a broken mission as it will not be answered when you need it. if your counting i have seen 2 gm,s , some say there are actually three. the folks that send the emails from nc soft have a twisted sense of humor asking how your gm experiance was, was the petition punctual, were you "content", who uses the word content in this manner? (grin) and any negative responses will be deleted. hehe i say wild questionaire!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

with that said, remember, its good to be straight forward and honest, the game is >great!!!< i personally  like it, my opinion. with tons of missions that actually do work, you have plenty to do. the mmo is also very solo friendly with any class. if op, you are looking for some fun battles, most bases are attacked frequently and the carnage that ensues can satisfy a quick 15 minutes if thats all you have. being released just recently (month or two in change) the game is pretty good minus what i listed as hard facts above in the first paragraphs. there is a lot to do.  grinding is minimal if you want or as much as you need if that floats your boat. give it a try, explore, ask tons of questions,  (except missions, try to solve them first before asking for help)

to date i have hit level 36, part of the overpopulated spy crowd and having a blast

as a quick update op, i do see more and more "new" folks asking beginner TR questions in general chat, whether they are trials or paid subs you would have to ask. and on the subject of chat, as with any game gold spammers make frequent appearances, though not for long as the GM's do handle this part of the game quickly and ruthlessly and with great fanfare at times, sometimes publicly executing gold spammers for many to see, which is humerous in my book.

not millions, they never had a million >PAID< subs let alone millions. just like their fubarred press release last year stating they had 14 million active characters, then changing it to millions of players, then changing it yet again to "a substantial paying player base"  tells everyone what  spin adjustments they use to gain subs. as long as they correct something the first time its printed they get in very little trouble. and with some folks simply flocking to games because they "seem" popular because of released numbers(hence the lying on turbines part with sub numbers) many find this a passable business strategy.

that and the turbine devs act like arrogant bullies. (lol, i have a much better term but it's to controversial)

i cant wait for the first lawsuits to role on in from lawyers stating so and so ruined my clients game because of their comments.

5. op your too late with your post, it's been said.

(did i really take the time to type all that?!)

anyway op, we get your point and some of the exaggerations, move along please.

i think what macksum is going for here is the lack of weed they have been dealing with for the last week or so. having had his drug dabs and bags taken away macksum is in disbelief.............having to deal with reality now everything else doesnt make sense and with all recovering drug addicts its that single reality that causes them to see things in a conspiratol outlook.

take macksums use of "THEN", it underlies macksums anger at not being picked. picked for what you ask? anything, everything, since macksums twist on reality is forcing macksums view to also reflect macksum not being picked. when macksum saw the tabula rasa trailer and also saw others werent picked, macksum had to post.

hope that clears things up.

the doctor is out.

so there i was in incline, late xmas night, in the atta cave almost done with the instance  when i jump into a pool of water.............and through it to the bottom. the stuck command simply puts me at the middle of the floor of the pond, a quick relog does nothing. i see a gm chatting in general........... i pm him and ask if he can get me unstuck and briefly explain my situation, 15 seconds later i am at the wilderness starter base, looking around, slightly dazed, mission fasiled strings line my chat log...........i stand there numb.

after 5 minutes or so i get a pm from the gm, was that to far? sitting in front of my keyboard i simply had to laugh, a light warmhearted chuckle tinged with an edge of insanity. "was that to far"? i type back, just a bit. the gm sends me back to incline and the dungeon and says to pop in and see if he messed anything up, i tell him everything failed and the dungeon had reset at this time and i would just go back and get the mission again. he said merry xmas and with a wink was gone, never to be heard from again.

my final pm to him was this.....................next time, just kill me.

customer service or revenge, you decide

level 30, blade time!!!

Just seems like another single player game disguised as an MMORPG. Repeteable quests in the sense that 1000 different players can do them and they have no impact on the game world and a fake conflict that noone can win. A handful of skills and a handful of different weapons. The only original thing I see in this game is the clone system and that hardly makes for an original MMORPG.

What a waste....

ZOMG!! repeatable quests?!!! fake conflict?!! doing things that have no impact on the game?!! a single player game disguised as an mmo?!! sounds like every mmo out there, bar none.

pally...........you just wake up or what?

I mean those who really enjoy tabula rasa should really try NGE-star wars galaxies, its a science fiction mmo as well and has better animations and content then TR...

as much as I hate SOE, the NGE is better than tabula rasa

wow, thought i was harsh when i first tried it. but really (helps thechronic to the door) i hope you find the game your looking for.

Solo!! (why would you group in an mmo?!! <-------humorous sarcasm) only grouped one time because i was hijacked but i plan on soloing the rest of the way, mission wise. i do help on missions after i have completed them however (hence the hijacking). great game, level 24 now. customer service still sucks.

warning removed (grin) to the person that submitted it. get educated before reporting someone.

************

now to the meat of the situation. having hit level 20 i am having a great time intermixed with lousy customer service. having not once been helped ingame, but sent emails almost immeadiately upon submitting a petition, etc, etc,. a couple of them even stated i was not ingame to be contacted....hahahah. anyway. after several emails with the plaync machine i recieved a curious survey request, so i opened it and read it..... to shorten the explanation the survey want me to name the gm's i was content with....."content"? reading down a bit further it said to make a brief statement in support of said named gm.......again, wth?!  a note with an asteric beside it states in bold letters

*negative comments will be discarded*   i have to simply laugh at the absurdity of these folks thinking proccess.

an email recieved after my submission stated for the record how to fix the mission problems, one link indicating leaving the game for 8 minutes, shutting the client down and then restarting after said time, repeat as needed till the mission resets.

the next email is a typed one by nc, telling me to not only do the above but  "try" going in and out of the area portals several times and doing this until the problem  "fixes itself" ...........rofl, no..wait....isnt he a gm? i tell ya.

be good, need to get back to killing bane.

There are lots of things I love about TR, the moody sci-fi environment, the fast paced combat, etc... but I'm thinking about quitting.

My highest level is only 23. My problem is that there is almost no variety in the game. I have been fighting the same Bane / Thrax / Kael models for 23 levels, I have been fighting in the same grassy/rocky/non-descript warzones for 23 levels.

Bizarrely, but sadly, the instances are almost identical to the main world in terms of scenery and mobs.

I'm really looking forward to some of the new stuff like PAUs, etc. but I'm just not sure I can stick around doing the same old, same old, long enough to see it.

I also play WOW (quit flaming already) and despite what you think about it there is variety. Winterspring is nothing like Barrens, Booty Bay is nothing like Ironforge, the variety is enormous. The boss mobs are genuine kick ass boss mobs, not a "pink" Bane that I can whoop with my Commando in 20 secs... wooo, that was exciting.

TR has so, so much potential but I'm just not sure I've got the patience to sit it out until it gets there, if it ever does.

What are people's thoughts and what is the game like 30+? 50?

i apologize for your still playing wow..........(sorry, had to take the shot) you mention fighting the same things over and over. i remember..(puts on a straw hat and grabs a mint julip and sits in the rocker) the old days, when we only had a couple mob types to fight and levels were only 4 colors.....but i digress. tr has its flaws, the beta folks should have been listened to, the suits are the ones that pressured release. what we will see in the future is anyones guess but currently i am level 15 and enjoying it, broken missions aside. the maps are in my opinion a bit small but that will change i think, the number of diff mobs, well that is totaly personal pref, every mmo to include the aol clone repeats mobs in some way, i have yet to see an mmo with hundreds or thousands of diff types. would this help the gameplay, not in my opinion, but look at it this way, its a new mmo and can only improve, its pretty good right now, even if the customer service isnt (whoop, there i went again!! private joke)

anyway, good luck in your search.

seems the bad press tr has been getting is indeed founded, i tried the 3 day on this thing. while i do indeed like the premise and the gameplay isnt bad, one thing kills it for me. the bugs.
many many missions are broken, the gms will not answer petitions and the only time i saw anything on my petitions was in the form of file it in the trash email the next day on three i submitted for help.
tabula rasa has the sorriest customer service and gm support i have seen in a game to date. i witnessed two gms chatting in general channel, having a grand old time, when i told them they need to get to work and leave the chatting to paying customers i was threatened, (name) "dont do that again" wth? is with these gm's nowadays, they dont like paycheck or are they all independantly wealthy enough to blow folks off? curious. reminds me of a game i left because they gms were <Mod edit>
, these gm's in tr just dont give a squat.
the search continues.

One persons complaining proves nothing. TR is better off without people like you.

Now go away and leave us with the game we're enjoying.. or mybe thats why your here. Maybe it's just to cause meaningless disturbance where there is no problem because you need the attention.

Please continue your search elsewhere. Thanks!

your a bit late in your post hellcaster and really appear foolish for it. read before you type.

i was about to logoff the site but to clarify something for those that found my first post so unnerving. the gm in question was probably enjoying as a few of you said r and r or was doing his job of chatting with the community. after an hour  i flipped a pithy, yet humerous jibe his way about getting back to work, the rest of the folks got it so did he, he also replied with the pithy warning, because it was simple annoyance at what i had done, everyone still laughed, no one was mad at anyone else those are the facts.

now how i post it on the boards is exactly how it happened, with the exception of details in the beginning and some folks feel or must have that release to post one way or the other without everything they need. not to bash anyone on either support or against what i typed. in the future when you read something like my first post, ask questions before typing so you dont appear to rabid. i may even answer back.

now......back to the game, where did i put that sonic rifle?

Where this a retail forum, I could go on and on about how very wrong you are on this matter, VS.  It's clear you  do not understand customer service in the real world and seem to be under some false impression that the employee is a servant or slave to the customer instead of what they really are....experts, there to do a job that you can't do and that they deserve as much respect as you want back.

Translation....tell an employee to get back to work and guess what you get back.

Ask the employee for help when they have a chance and guess what you get back.

The OP decided he wanted to get up in the face of the GM.  He got back what he gave.

You reap what you sow.

That GM had done nothing to the OP when the OP decided to get in his face.

Had the GM just randomly picked him out of the crowd or had the OP asked nicely and been rebuked so harshly....you would have a case, but that isn't what happened.

this is a prime example of a person typing just to type. with little or no information they have surmised what "i did wrong" and laid a tenant of what i should have done/do. this poster HAS to be a televangalist. good for you poster!!

here is some info poster. i HAVE told employees to get back to work, and they did so quite quickly, and they loved me for it. i dont get in anyones "face", online, thats rude. i only do so in person, when i am disciplining an employee, you see, mine dont want to quit, the pay is too good.

lol, harsh? where in any level of existance did you get harsh out of any of my posts?  i tell ya, some peoples kids.

lol, so much infighting, folks quoting the wrong posters, direct your anger or what you think you have in the way of angst my way i started the thread.   and replying before reading, tsk, tsk. anyway.

to those that have the answer to customer service, good for you. to the posters that think the gm's are doing it right, again good for you. i posted on my experiance, what i saw, and what i told the gm to do, very simple. if some posters feel the need to defend their "buds" the gm's thats fine too i wont argue (just chuckle a bit).

here is a follow up. day three of the trial, since moving to a paid sub for one month (addicting game) gm contacted me today,  2 days after the submission. nuff said. asks if i was still stuck at the door....err, no i am not i said, your two days late. no reply. said he would go through my character log and try to fix anything pertaining to quests, not that it was needed now, better late than never. asking why it takes so long for help.....guess what, they havent got the people. big surprise there.

this game does grow on you. maybe the customer service will too...........(ya, thats right i typed it again
