In your opinion, what are the top 3 aspects of SotA that will set it apart from other games from this genre.

I don't think Gold Farmers will have a large role to play in this game.  Its not a full MMO. its selective multiplayer. 

Right, but exactly how will it work?  Do you pick 10 spells to have ready / learned?  There was also talk of a weapon or staff being enchanted with magic to give you another spell to use.  There are quite a few things we don't fully understand. 

Remember in the old D&D days and old RPGs, you had to learn a spell first before using it.  Do some preparation first before casting it. 

In casting spell books , most talk about preparing spells, enchanting a symbol etc.  You don't just get a book of 64 spells and bam !! you spam cast whatever the hell you feel like. 

To me, this card system of preparing spells etc, may not only be a different approach but may make for more strategy.  Don't a lot of people enjoy that magic game ? 

I need to know more or see it in action first before i make any true opinions.  If you need your twitch combat, click , click , macro fast paced action, then yea, maybe this won't be at that speed.  However, it could be more complex and require more strategy.  Far from being dumbed down. 

 

 

They have not released enough details yet about the "Card System" to make any solid assumptions.  That post was just for a forum user. 

I honestly don't know how combat or magic will work but when they start releasing official update, we can debate the topic better.

Yes you need to pledge 500$ as i said.

And do all that pledge for a house pre-game get to place it when the game starts?

Answer: Many that pledged for a house wont be able to place it cause there isnt enough spots to place them on, pathetic failure.

And who in their right mind would pay 500$ to get a house in a game we know very little of ? We know little on how PvP will work and i need alot more information on many features before i put that kind of money down.

Compare with Star Citizen where players actually know what they pledge for.

[mod edit] Players that might pledge for SotA need to know about these facts before they put their money down. With 500$ pledge you buy a house, yes, but that doesnt mean that you can place it when game is released. That is good info for future pledgers.

What are you talking about?  If you pledge at citizen level or buy a village plot via the add-on store, you are guaranteed a plot of land with a house.

Your buying the PLOT of land.  The pledge tiers 500 and above come with house to use in that plot.  Even the Add-on store village plot comes with a small house.

So apparently, HOUSING is the major issue.  At Lori's site, is there nothing else you like about SotA or want from a game?  Should we just make a game, Medieval Housing Online? 

Can we discuss anything else but HOUSING? 

If housing is your major concern, then I suppose you shouldn't play SotA.  I don't see them changing there design at this point.  Was using Housing as a main component to fundraising a great idea?  Maybe not, but it is what it is.

So all the content, listed at Forsakenvirtues.com, that SotA has to offer isn't good enough?  Is it housing or bust for the lot of you?   Surprising....

Seriously, having a house in game is to show off one of two things. How big your wang is because you bought/earned one, or two how big your mom's wang is because you stole her wallet.

Lastly, you know this is the very first game of the series of five SotA games which are being released. There will be plenty of chances for a house if you really must put on a skirt and have a go at it.

I suppose it does depend on what you both consider to be pay, and what you consider to be win. For me, I win by finding little home owners out in the woods crafting chairs for their house and ganking their sorry asses.

In your opinion, maybe. There is a large segment of the gaming community that feel that housing options should be as mandatory a feature of the game as character creation is. I was very close to backing until this announcement. I now think that I will give it a pass.

 

That is one of the most... interesting comments I have ever read. I've never come across anyone in recent MMO gaming which has told me they think that they are outright entitled to getting a house. 

This is a new concept for me and doesn't make much sense. I would like to know why you believe that you are entitled to something like that?

I mean what if I don't want a house, you're also going to force me to play house?? I wear no skirt, as it is I'll probably give my citizen home away to some retard crafter or money grubbing douche bag in game.

I feel the same way actually.  I pledged high enough for a house/plot of land, but to be honest, i'm pushing for in game Inns to be the hub of roleplay and community.

You think back to UO, the best places for me to interact with others was either at the bank or brit forge doing repairs.  Close 2nd was perhaps guild halls where you would meet on a weekly basis.   Don't get me wrong, having a house is nice, but its not critical to gameplay.

This is Richard "High Horse" Garriott desperately trying to Clear his name and put the blame at NCSoft..... and you and so many others falling for this and eating it like sweet candy truth!

I am getting seriously tired of repeating the entire story again and again, as I was a devoted fan of Tabula Rasa back then, following the entire Development, part of the entire closed beta and followed through launch and Beyond until shut Down.

During that time I have seen Richard "High Horse" Garriott showing his "true" colors.

I am "totally" done With him and won't touch anything anymore, where he's involved in With a ten foot pole!

 

Just to give you a little clue. He was "totally" in charge of Tabula Rasa Development. Had total free reign and a huge Budget from NCSoft.

NCSoft had so much fate in him at that time, that he even managed to get his Brother appointed as CEO of the NCSoft NA studio, where Tabula Rasa was being developed.

But like I said.... I can Write a huge wall of text again about what happened during that time. But I seriously get tired of repeating that wall of text yet again. Especially since you blind fans don't want to hear the truth anyway.

You aren't aware that you get land being a Founder (someone that backed it during the Kickstarter)?

 

You don't get land just being a founder (pledging during the kickstarter).  You either have to pledge Citizen level (or higher) or purchase the $150 village plot with your current pledge.

(That is at the start of the game)

There may be some plots open an launch that people can purchase in game, not sure on how many though.

Or more land will open as the game progresses for you to purchase in game.
