Sounds like you are looking for a quest based game....EVE isn't that.... I find the boring grinds you speak of to be more like an old friend after several years of quest extravaganza's...... 

 

The boring PVE supports the exciting PVP which is what EVE is really all about.... if you're not part of that cycle.....the game really won't appeal....

I suppose what your saying is true, im looking for more "quests". EVE's pretty much the only space sim, with PVE revolving around making ISK. Unfortunately the PVE in EVE is like a job IRL, consistantly doing the same activity repeatedly with very little change. The missions for example, could have more progressive storylines other then "go to X kill X then come back here for another mission".

I understand EVE isnt necessarily a PVE orientated game, but it has the potential to add better PVE content, and it would attract customers.

Wow, did you ignore that entire sentence that past performance" is only a factor of the entire situation?  I guess you were betting on Lord of the Rings Online to fail since DDO didn't fare as well as everyone expected and Asheron's Call 2 died?  They certainly didn't have a promising future yet managed to pull off a successful game (for casual players).

The difference between Turbine and SoE, is that DDO failed due to design and gameplay mechanics, NOT becuase it was rush released.

You may have a seperate user/login for TR. Login to ncsoft and check what it is.

How can you not know your user/pass? Dont you have something memorable you tend to use for most games?

Btw, if it was a fileplanet/eurogamer account, you won tbe able to play anymore. Only full testers can play now...

If you can get into the email account you used for it then try "forgotten password" thng at the ncsoft website.

Would be interesting if there were Hoplai formations.

Passed this to a few friends of mine.

You have to have a forum account to register for the beta (and it is instant). If you dont have a forum account, you cant register with a new one. Great way to reward the GnH fanbois I suppose.

None, all MMO's gameplay seems to be based on repetition and linearity. Some are mildy fun, but ive yet to find a MMO that has me clamoring to play it for longer then a week.

You have said your stance towards gaming is, "dont judge until you've tried it". Then perhaps you should count the OP and his point as a caution.

Unfortunately there are people around that dont have any knowledge of SoE's prior engagements. It is these people SoE target, it is these people that must be warned.

Conferances do tend to be an opportunity for developers to show off games. Perhaps this is a move to advertise that there is an active market for female gamers.
