Now, can I assume the card is working without the drivers right? Standard VGA mode? If not, then reseat the card because one thing I've found with all video cards is that they have to be seated just right to be detected and sometimes recognized. Otherwise, you got a borked card and I would RMA that sucker ASAP.

-- Brede

First they don't make 8600GT in AGP, highest they do in AGP is 7900GS I think.

To the OP make sure your video card is seated right like this guy said. The latch should be fully seated down and the card flush, no narrowing of the video cards base showing.

Then make sure you got POWER going to the card. There should be a 6 pin power cable inlet to plug in power to it from your PSU (power supply unit).

If you do not have the proper power cable check to see if the card came with an adapter. Then make sure to power back up and uninstall the video driver from the control panel in add remove hardware. Select Nvidia and then select remove only the following display or video driver. After that restart the PC then install the driver again for the video card. Once thats done restarted and it should work.

If not then check to make sure where on your motherboard you have the PCIE slot at. If you have 2 PCIE slots make sure your card is in the slot labeled PCIE 1 slot.

If all that fails then go back into hardware configuration and select the device manager and click display adapters to see if it is listed, if it isn't but shows something else select it and select uninstall.

Good luck.

This game is still alive, . So much for the real D&D fans sticking to the real rule-sets. Anyway I thought this game was almost dead, less then 50k subscribers last I seen on the charts. I tried it when it first came out and laughed, uninstalled it 2 days later. What a POS game. Worst IP for this type of game ever created.

Seeing how this could just be free publicity for WoW, I wonder how much they would do to stop it.

Ever heard of the death march? Not fun. I hope Blizzard does stop this because it goes against the EULA and personally many people in these MMO's get on to get away from reality for some fun entertainment and do not want to go around seeing political rallies within their game worlds.

It's total BS if they leave this go on and not do anything about it. Like many other posters here they disagree to having this go on in game.

Hell it's free now! I will try it, downloading now. I will join your fight if I like the game, since I stopped playing all games I have nothing to play now so this should be fun to try out.

Yeah that MMO is fun so far, I haven't played it but followed it for awhile now. It reminds me of Dungeon Siege and part PSO.

And to MMORPG.COM, as a valued and dedicated member I would find it so much more pleasing to see all the MMO's not listed be here for discussion. It makes sense to many when looking for a new MMO to play that the list is very limited.

But I am not sure what the deal is, maybe they have to pay to be up on this site? If not maybe you should get a dedicated staff member who does research and asks these new MMO's to allow you to link them to the list and updates? I just find so many cool new MMO's out there either F2P or upcoming that are never on the list here. No discussions and people rarely know they existed till people make a post about them.

Just a suggestion. Some clarification would be good on this. I would love to see more MMO added to the list that are out there.

Really, I can decide for you? Gosh I feel so special deciding if you should go or stay. Hmm, well with that put upon me I would say do what you want. I don't feel like telling someone to leave a game they clearly love but hate certain things. Many have a MMO they love about and still hate things about it.

So make your own decision.

Intel Pentium M (1.86GHz)

1 GB RAM

Windows XP Prof (SP2)

Mobile Intel(R) 915GM Express Chipset Family  SORRY

128MB Video RAM

Video Card 3d Acceleration

Pixel Shader Ver 2.0

Any tohughts?

Well I'm sorry your laptop doesn't have a good video accelerator. Maybe if you had a mobil 6800-7600M then possibly you could play the new games ok, but with that 915GM onboard video will not play much anything.

You could play UO or AC on it ok, maybe even WOW ok but nothing really new. I doubt Eve will even play decently. Good luck.

As a joke maybe you can play this max settings www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setView/overview/gameID/190

Every game under the sun has been accused of a lack of content, from Asian item-malls to niche sandboxes to World of Warcraft.

So what does "content" mean?

Apparently none of these things may be considered content:
- world, no matter how detailed / full of interesting locales / malleable
- quests, no matter how numerous and no matter how hard they try to resemble meaningfulness
- items and equipment, no matter how numerous and varied
- activities like fishing, diplomacy, mini-games, etc., no matter how useful or useless
- harvesting and crafting, no matter how broad or deep
- in-game tools for players to create their own missions
- in-game tools for players to create their own dungeons
- ability for players to create their own exploration areas, whether via an editor or via terraforming+etc.
- lore, in-game and/or out-of-game
- live events, whether pointless little contests and such or world-affecting storyline progression catalysts
- PvE combat, whatever the features, quirks, scale, and rewards involved
- PvP combat, whatever the features, quirks, scale, and rewards involved

In all fairness, i believe they mean "Innovative content" or even better "Original content". You see the problems with current mmos ever since wow came out is that they are too 'copy and paste'.
Same item color scheme as wow, same leveling bar, same skill tree thing to go with the levels, same go kill x of y quests. I could go on if i wanted to but ill spare your eyes.

I mean seriously, how many times do we have to play the same leveling game with a different sprinkle before they start to innovate this genre (like swg pre-cu did) like they did back in the day?

I know a lot of people are going to say  "well they just dont have that kind of money to take that risk." And to that i say Bull<bleep>. In fact many people in the developers corner have many doable ideas that has more originality than most of the mmorpg games out there combined.

Is it really about them taking a risk? They really are sitting on a goldmine if they did. A lot of people are sick of the same stuff being rehashed. Are they just rehashing to make a quick buck? Thats what i think.

I can only hope they choose to mix it up soon. I really don't even think WAR and AoC are going to cut it. I feel they too will be dumbed down and cruddy in no time.

Just my two cents, ill get off my soapbox for now. :)

Great insight there. I would agree 100%. My main gripe was they don't provide innovative and original content. Like you said everything is copy paste now days for MMO developers.

WOW becoming a political front for Presidential Candidates, whats next Taco Bell refusing to serve illegal mexicans?

Surely this is because the young people support Ron, and because of this a clever idea to place it within WOW to support him makes sense. But whats that say for Rons supporters, that they are all worthy of bubbling and hearthing out when the going gets bad. Sadly this guy has more fun exciting new support changes then anyone I seen in the last 20+ yrs. Within that time period where technology still had enough pull to do some cool things like this. I say if they want to do this in game then Blizzard should stop it. Making others be around political or religious stuff in game is against the EULA for the game.

Pretty cool though, Ron is never going to win.

Yeah at the back of the store I work at..well I called myself helping the environment so I picked up a piece of trash and all of a sudden 12 of these guys ran down a tree so I started running. I was chased by about 8 squirrels when I was a kid (about 8 years old) in a park. They wanted my Peanut Butter sandwich and I cried and ran my way to the Libra. So I kinda knew what this situation was going to turn out to be so I sprint. These squirrels was FAST.  As I was running to the front of the store 2 of them flew on my back. I don't know HOW THEY DID BUT THEY DID.

I managed to get one off, but the other crawled up in my hair (mini fro) so I slapped that one off. I didn't make it far to get to the front so I saw that one of the other stores in the plaza had a guy smoking, holding the door open. He sees me running to him and he sees these squirrels chasing me so he knew what to do. I dashed in, he shut the door. One got his body crushed between the door. Poor thing.

The guy was laughing his balls off. I explained to him the story than went up to the front of the store. I threw the trash I picked up in the garbage. Then as I was walking to my job, 3 of them was looking at me at the top of a small planted tree. I jogged back inside my job and stayed in for about a good hour.

I would have never thought this would happen to me again.

I applaud you for having the nerve to sit there to count 12 of them. Moving and such it must of been difficult. And no pics? Come on now if any normal person got attacked by these they would run not stop to count. Also don't squirrels relatively stay in small 2 or 4 packs. I never seen more then 2 or 4 in one tree or in a pack ever in my life and I feed them every week in my back yard. Plus in other areas of the US I noticed they rarely have 2 or so together.

Anyway, good made up story if it is. If not, good balls to allow them to attack you while you count.

Your strange man. Bumping a topic like this for poor excuse that it's made up? I have to look back to see if they are still FOLLOWING ME. Being the QUICK COUNTER I am, I counted how many were chasing me in about 5- seconds. See I can dash and while dashing turn my head and look behind me. It must take you a good while to get a number eh? No pics? I'm running, why would I want to think about taking a picture of being chased by something that could harm me? I don't know much about how they roll in a little pack, but it's 12 during the time I was being chased.

Are you serious man? lol

Haha I am a strange man and a deep heavy thinker. And no I didn't bump this old thread, I posted thinking it was new. The dude above me (guy above my first post in this thread) bumped it, I didn't see the date this thread was made till today LOL!!

Anyway who bumps threads this old.

RL money has no place in the MMO genre IMO.

Doing so introduces an advancement mechanism that is not available to all players, and as such is not fair.

If you read some of the SoE forums, you will see a great majority of posters do not look favorably upon this move.

Regardless of the greed of the companies that endorse this stuff, most gamers do not want this stuff in thier MMO's.

EQ2 doesn't have station exchange on all servers. The station exchange is on 1 server that was setup as station exchange when made. So you should know this. I doubt you quit because of station exchange because it doesn't affect any other server unless you play on station exchange, but if you do then you play there because of the service.

Cool, I like mind readers that know why I did something better than I do.

Sorry to burst your ESP bubble but yes, I did quit EQ2 over the Station Exchange.  I did it on principle alone because it is my belief RL money has no place in MMO's.  Apparently I wasn't the only one either, SoE lost roughly 80k subs over the Station Exchange debacle.

There's two S.E. servers.

Second, Station Exchange was originally going to be rolled out onto exsisting servers and was only relegted to special servers after the playerbase made a huge noise about it.  This blatant, greedy, disregard for the playerbase is what sealed the deal for me.

Nope you didn't burst my Bubble. But hey if you quit over station exchange then thats kinda like saying I stopped driving my gas car because people are using hybrids or electric cars and they should all be on gas like me. To me that just sounds funny, sorry.

I wonder if you ever played any other MMO's before? If so which ones? Probably can find some F2P ones that have auto mall or something, which is the same thing. But for EQ2 if you quit because of 1 server that didn't affect you at all then all I can say is WOW.

I played EQ2 for 2yrs, and got the full EOF raid set gear and best weapons in game before I quit. Now for someone to say this makes me think that they only care what others get and I found allot of people like you online who got so jealous because of the gear we had within the game. It's the same here when you quit basically because on another server people where getting ahead faster by buying game currency or items. You realize on normal servers they have gold sellers and all that stuff to!

And show me proof that 80,000 people quit EQ2 when station exchange came out. I find that so hard to believe because I played 2yrs and seen the numbers, been on EQ2players forums and never seen an 80k lost. Your just making things up now.

I don't mind helping people but it sounds to me like your asking for to much. Your system isn't going to carry a DX10 API that well for your price range. Not to mention DX10 games are very heavy dependent on top end hardware.

Your not going to get any DX10 titles to play that well on such low end video cards even if they where DX10 cards. DX9 is still great and will carry your PC for a couple years if you rarely game anyway.

Now if you wanted to spend some more money a 8600GT is your next step for a good price/performance with DX10. To me I think it won't matter with your system.

As far as history of Power Leveling is concerned didn't start till EQ. UO was the first to sell items in game. Gold was big sales for UO sellers. There was one man in particular that was arrested for selling gold during UO popular years. He had 10 or 15 computers all setup to dupe gold. He ended with over $200,000 in gold sales before he was caught. I guess back then he didn't understand IP tracking for the law enforcement agencies.

I remember the first year of EQ when you could find some interesting websites soliciting Power Leveling services. After reading and getting to understand how it worked, I started Power Leveling my own accounts. Started a druid when EQ first launched after playing in Beta. The natural power leveling class back then. Got 2 more accounts and soon I was dual boxing 2 accounts and having more fun then any other game I ever played. Chloroplast then thorns, who could forget the EQ power leveling days. Oh and there was no level restrictions then to spells. You could apply big  buffs to low levels, that was fun.

And who could forget the fun us druids use to cause in Oasis with the Sand Giants. When I first buffed a Sand Giant and made him a god and he attacked killed people near the docks, LOL good memories.

I don't think either way that this bit of news is article worthy on MMORPG.COM Really who cares about the history of it, cheaters and the ones influenced are even more comfortable now seeing how this is like condoning cheating and in game destroying economies.

Hmm yeah your fine then. I was surprised you got a AMD in yours. Most Dell Inspiron are made with a Intel processor. But hey, AMD is so cheap now, adding that processor in and charging the same amount makes them a better profit.

Your CPU is just as good as the slowest Core 2 Duo so go with the 1650Pro or 7600GS if you can afford the 80 bucks. Remember though, anything below 7600GS is slower then the 1650Pro starting price/performance.

And you can play WOW and every MMO out with that setup, it won't play them at max graphical settings but you should be ok with most of them at medium settings. WOW will play max with your setup.

WTF are we doing with Pakistan as an ally, anyway?

Well thats what I been thinking. When I see what hes doing and his videos I think he's such a political pandering monger. Hes only borderline pro USA. I said to some friends and family that she will be killed right after she came back to Pakistan. Yeah her influences and human rights movements over there where not liked by the radical fundalmentalists. So they did what most of us thought they would do. It isn't any different then IRAQ now. Every democratic free politician will be killed. It is why IRAQ still doesn't have the US inspired government installed yet. Everyone is afraid to run or try and help. I foresee Pakistan in big turmoil and falling apart in the next few years.

Yeah she use to be a beautiful women. She was hot when she was younger. She died at age 53 I think.

What CPU did your Inspiron come with? If it has a core 2 duo then I would spend a few more and get the 1650PRO the one listed above me, was a good choice or a 7600GS if you wana spend a few more.

With a celeron CPU that could be in your PC would be limited to going anything really good. The CPU becomes a bottleneck. The base CPU is the celeron 1.6 GHz 800FSB for that PC.

If you do have the core 2 duo then go with the 7600GS or higher if you can afford it.

If you have the celeron then a good bet is the 1650PRO for $59 on newegg, it has a slightly higher clock frequency on the GPU over the 1650XT, even though it won't be a smoking system you inch closer to bottlenecking the celeron with anything bigger then 1650 model from ATI. For Nvidia your price/performance doesn't start till you go 7600GS, where ATI has a much better price/performance.

I can see hundreds of these threads. But they all show the best components or close to it. In that case I would say you obviously know what these components are good for so to feed you with OMG nice system etc. is just BS to me.

That system will be just fine, not sure why people post so many of these threads but include the best components. It isn't like they could of all choose the best components by accident and say they know nothing about it but look at what I'm getting threads.
