The average, if not most of the consumers have no clue. The only thing that is genuine to the knowledge you need to have when purchasing blueray or hd-dvd is, do you have a 1080p HDTV. Because I don't give a damn about storage capacity on a disk, the real thing is that a blueray player will not put out 1080p to a 720p or 1080i HDTV PERIOD! End of discussion. You seem to be misinformed. Why not learn something instead of making yourself sound like a bestbuy tech who just graduated from the 1hr DVD course. Bluerays sound and video are on the DVD not built into the players. The players themselves are not 100% utilizing the capability of the Blueray technology, AKA the data on the disks. You got the movie and the sound, but blueray also has the ability to switch between scenes to alternate endings and different view angles with the push of a button. Plus the utilization of mass effects that are still not fully functional on the blueray players today. So while Directors are adding these things, expect the technology to start to use these things as players get better. And who the heck asked about how you could place mpeg2 video to a cd? Didn't you mean to a DVD.

What you guys do not know is that her and Tiger been friends for over 12yrs now and play golf together and do other things together. She made a comment but it was not racist and not ill intended. People need to stop processing things and making them sound bad. Tiger had said she was not making racist comments at him and he said thats ok. Both of them probably laughed about it that night on the phone. Sometimes we pick words to quickly without thinking, and especially on live TV. |

Both are two entirely different pieces of software-hardware. Blueray is 1080p and HD-DVD is 1080i. Blueray hardware doesn't even utilize the full features of blueray yet, something like only 60% of the actual blueray capability is used. Most people still do not have a 1080p HDTV to display blueray, a good market of the HDTV used today are either 720p or 1080i. Also consumer electronics said that over 30% of people who have bought blueray did not own a 1080p display to use the blueray enhanced video 1080p, which is why HD-DVD is still the best and can you really hear all those extra sounds clear enough with blueray over HD-DVD hd sound? No. So why bother with blueray anyway. I think consumers are the ones in the end to be polarized and blindsided, because they do not research and check the technologies before investing money into them. So how is the 360 a POS because it doesn't have a blueray addon? Please give me a break. |

Originally posted by AlekhinExactly, and also the OP can dual boot with 32bit Vista and the 64bit Vista. Just make sure to have either 2 hardrive not in any raid or partition 2 seperate and install the 32 and 64 on each parition. Then go into bios and allow dual boot OS. Check on how to dual boot OS on google. Use the 32bit for everyday stuff and 64bit for the current games that work with vista 64. |

Thats nothing. Japan has created a super thin display that is as thick as a dime. Its called an organic display. The picture is crystal clear and unlike conventional LCD screens you can BEND this one and fold it up and it will not break. But the limiting factor is size, at only 8 inches for the biggest one they got is over $20,000 US. Though I see these high tech displays in about 15yrs in our homes. Imagine a 60 inch wide-screen you can wrap in a circle and play games like crysis with over 230 degrees of view. But they still will be pretty expensive. Also the quality with these dime thin displays is that they have the quality of a 1080p HDTV or CRT. Which is amazing also. They showed off there one 6 inch display where a tiny fiber optic cable was on the right corner and no back or sides, just this thin display they bent and rolled up with a video playing in HD format. |

This is why Anandtech and Tomshardware are in business for, not MMORPG.COM Please guys, stick to the MMO's, after all thats the name of this site. Every hardware writeup you do or bring us is limited and not based on comprehensive tests. Those hardware websites that review and test are the ones who know what they are doing. I come to MMORPG.COM to discuss MMO's and can care less about these things here. Ohh and that memory part confused me to. |

Both got great reviews around the net recently also. www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx

Originally posted by LaviathenThanks I agree it would make a great MMO. But having limited use of the aliens to choose from the beginning won't help people much. You have to look at it as an MMO. Your first character usually is the one you fall in love with and I doubt people want to level up and get gear then just to restart over with an alien here that they wanted in the first place. So they would have to be all unlocked from the get go. In EQ2 the froglok wasn't open, and people demanded they put it in from the games launch. Just to unlock it was not that much fun and well like myself many think it would of been best to of had it from the very beginning. I have more information coming on what I would like this MMO to have and how it will work. I am typing up on word how it will work etc.

I hope not. If Smed thinks so he is mistaken. How far can you drag on the EQ series with diminishing returns. Since EQ2 launched it became nothing but a balancing act. What will they show in EQ3 that they couldn't already do in EQ2? Bet it will be the same game engine and same old thing. What will the story be? Oh that Qeynos is no longer there after another 500 years? Come on, if they even thought about an EQ3 it would be Vapor before it got into stage 1 beta. |

This is the 2nd biggest thing we see on Nvidia forums for noobs first time upgrading there new PC's with better video cards. |

I just played xcom-ufo defense tonight for a few. Forgot I had it. I played the original series years ago and to me this would make one of the most creative MMO's ever if Hasbro and Mythos could ever get together and do it. I don't even know if Mythos still exists and I know Hasbro has the rights to this game series now. Think it would be very fun to play aliens vs humans. If you picked the alien as your character you would be given every type to choose from. With aliens trying to evade our cities and what not it would be very cool to play it as a 3d game in a large MMO type atmosphere. Who else thinks this would be a cool MMO? The possibilities are endless with this kind of game. I know at least the crafting part would be awesome. With people building parts for ships and weapons. Having the ability to create your own base for use as your guild. This would make for a really fun PVP game indeed!! |

I am old what can I say. Anyway I thought you meant that you said what is it standard AGP card or something. Thats why my statement corrected that which I thought you said. My whole remarks where spot on. You didn't even go through the other possibilities like I did. All you suggested was reseating the card but thats a given for most. I went through the whole process in detail to get him the best help possible to a fix. Now to who is ignorant? Mine was a miss quote on something I thought you said, but the other info I supplied was exactly what he would of got if you were such an expert.

Just because this is a strictly MMORPG site doesn't mean they have to stay with MMO game only forums. I am glad they have off-topic and general forums. Without them this site would pretty much be dead for allot of us. Talking about other things with other players is fun. |

To get most games that do not work you must play around and add things to the CFG files etc. I am not sure about SB on Mac cause I don't have it on MAC but check the net and google how to get games working on MAC. |
