Eh, calling in sick? I'll survive. I figure I'll let all the servers' populations fill out and see how the Order/Destro balance is. Just another way to push off my decision of what exactly I want to play as. |

I'm in a pretty rough place... I like the idea of playing the underdog just as much as I want to play a Chosen, a Disciple of Khaine, and a Marauder. Not many of the order classes appeal to me. Warpriest might, but I'd rather just tank than worry about healing and melee. Shadow Warrior is a possibility, though I want to try something different than Ranged DPS. White Lion is interesting too, though I dunno if I feel like having ANOTHER pet... (If you can't tell, I used to be a Night Elf Hunter) Dwarves don't appeal to me, and the Bright Wizard is a little too flashy for my tastes. Leaves very few choices and even less destro, and I'm kinda worried I'll be stuck queing just for my tastes. |

In my opinion, you just gotta give it time. People are still playing around with this and that in the game, and no one is really ready to settle into a role. Even people who are healers from other games are being distracted away from their normally passive roles. If you build it, they will come. If you play it, they will heal. I promise. |

I know this definitely is not the first topic that popped up with the Zombie MMO ideals. I think I'll be the spoil sport and at least throw out the issues people came across thinking about this... 1. Death penalty in a zombie-infested world? 2. Varying zombie enemy types. (This became a problem because generally there are the dark-fantasy or infectious based zombie types, but in truth, they are all zombies. Kinda boring to some.) 3. Goals - Survival is fun, sure. But logging on every day just to survive 'til dinner time? Eh. Need incentive beyond finding a place to hide and farm all day, no? 4. [This kind of links to number 3.] Safe zones? Places to log off? Log off effects? NPC survivors? 5. [This is just a personal point I thought about with the advertising thing...] There are quite a few companies who wouldn't really want their product advertised via zombie-infested hell. Quite the contrary. But yea, I'm just statin' a few issues. Talk about'm! I want a Zombie MMO too, but gotta work out the quirks, no? |

This really shouldn't turn into a sexism debate... The character models are being adapted to be visually appealing while sticking with the ideas of the original Conan story. So they're too thin - is that really going to affect your gameplay? Big breasts - oooh, wow. You're staring at their back most of the time anyway. Warrior-thongs...ok? The people who are complaining about this would be the true Storyists (RPers or RP-sympathizers [I patent that name]) who care about making fantasy as realistic as possible to be more immersive. There is nothing wrong with this, though it is hard to find a game that is fully immersive. A woman should be buffer if she can be just as powerful as a male Conan-esque warrior. Ok. We know she should, though this is a game where that isn't necessarily put out into the models concepts. These models are made to be visually appealing to the larger masses. So basically, more people would rather stare at a warrior-vixen than a brute-woman. Sorry, but it is the sad truth that more people are affected by visually appealing objects. A second note - I'll tie in my argument for movies and books (What are the chances [Insert Protagonist Name Here] would be [Insert Place] when [Insert Event] happens?) The truth is that you wouldn't want to hear a story about some guy who drove to the grocery store and DIDN'T end up in a high-speed chase. You don't want to hear about him complaining on which cheese to buy. And generally you won't want to hear a story about a muscular female warrior. Sure it might be interesting, but more people would want to hear about the girl who can kill four men with her bare hands while maintaining her groomed appearance and alluring another hero with her Victoria's Secret physique. End Note: It's just a game. As for the sex buffing - again, it's apart of the Conan world. If anything, it's comical. |
