Ya but its still like it is in beta and people who are paying now are helping finish the game while waiting for them fix bugs and add more content and features that were left out. Its just like beta except you paying. Who says you can't play beta but at least you have your melee combat system!
reminds me of when the NGE was released. |

is AoC supposed to be a sandbox game???? or no...

AoC isn't so much a sandbox, as it is a rock that sunk to the bottom in a puddle of fail. |

My biggest gripe with the MMO industry isn't so much the fact that there is no more originality(even though there isn't), but the fact that these games are released in such a pathetic unfinished state. I assume the reason why they are released this way, is because a buggy unfinished game that is released makes money, while a game in development doesn't. I assume the suits or investors push to get these games out as fast as possible to start making money.
What bugs me even more, is that the general population in the MMO genre seems to have accepted this as fact. How many times have you heard "MMO's are buggy when they are released", as though it is unavoidable. When in fact, even though MMO's are "bigger" games, there is absolutely no reason why an MMO can't be released in a relatively polished and finished state. The only reason that they aren't, is money. |

Anyone care to make retention predictions?

I am mostly upset about the Early Access scam. Even though my box from Best Buy said I "WILL get Early Access to the game" with out any notion that it was limited. I wasn't allowed in because it was "full". If I would have gotten into Early Access, I would have been able to play early for the $10 pre-order fee, seen what the game was, and saved myself $50 on buying the full game. But I think the limited Early Access was for just this reason. Make people that couldn't get in buy the full game. |
