To be blunt, well as blunt as I can be here on these forums, if you have an issue with CE items (as you seem to have) then you should in fact have an issue with all MT items. They share the same motive and philosphy after all.

In a matter of fact, I think you are just  "I want attention" here, as for what I can understand from your posts, you can NOT play any MMO's because of your "laws". F2P = Cash Shop = RMT = "No ty for you". P2P = CE = RMT ( more ,less or none ) = "No ty for you". So, again .. what are you doing here? Seriously, you just keep saying bullshit every time , when someone just start saying something against you, but then .. when THIS guy comes and say "I agree with the OP" you are like "Oh see? I told you I am right" .

Are you against the companies which makes MORE money then you wanted to? When you will own a company, please come back ok? EVERY company in this earth ( games or no-games ) wants to make money. Where have u living?

Can someone please translate this for me?

The servers are being locked down meaning no new toons can be created there,you will still be able to move them off of the server after the date is up,basicaly like they did the japanese servers,i moved a few toons from there to EU servers long after the shutdown.

Just do not expect it to be similar to SWG pre-cu,cu or even NGE, no deep crafting, no player citys or houses...it will be all story and combat, they said they are not making a world simulator, so basicaly yeah just like Kotor but online,which for me is just blah kotor was an awesome single player game but does not fit as an MMO at all in my opinion, SWG is the only MMO i even cared to play beause it was so much different than single player offline games.

 A lot of people simply get to general for the items and let their rank decay i know quite a few that have done that and others doing it now, i am in no way defending against the population issue here though we all know it is not great by any means.

Err no hoth is just a huge ball of ice with two maybe three creatures on the whole planet, a whole huge barron planet would be a big waste in my opinion.

Still Swg could have only 20k subs and still survive because SOE does not count on one game to keep them afloat, and even with that few of people they would still make money considering they have very few employees working on Swg and they still charge a premium for monthly fees at $14.99 per month but yeah i do not beleive they were still bleeding 10k subs up until the NGE because population was actualy rising and many consider to this day publish 24 to be the best publish to date, which hit right before the NGE.

Well, if we can speculate on what a full server is then we can go from there. I personally believe that a full server would be anywhere between 6000 and 9000 people.

True enough, I would agree that you could populate 1 pre-cu server to more than the average of current NGE servers.  But I don't believe SOE would do that.  They aren't the 'special interest' kind of company that would reward a small amount of loyal fans.

 

Then the next question inevitably will arise. Theoretically what happens if the pre-CU servers become more populated then the NGE servers?


That's why I know it won't happen.  If they had both server types up and running, they would be fracturing their own community AGAIN.  Because some people will play pre-CU and swear by it, taking over the official forums asking for more pre-CU servers.  And there actually are some gamers that like the NGE and will do the same for that server type.

 

The SWG community has been fractured and split in two so many times it's sick.  I'm surprised there is even a community left.  I don't think SOE will do it because it doesn't server their own best interest. Giving the customer what they want means splitting their already fragile community and turns them against one another.

Actualy i think they would rather have the community at each others throats it keeps more off of theirs.

You know the saddest thing about these runors true or false is that so many players miss the old SWG that we latch on and hope there will be another that will hook us in as it did back then i just dont see why they dont get that maybe its because it would cost them more to keep up than what they would want to pay.

Put it this way there would be more there playing than on all of the NGE servers combined no ifs ands or buts about it.

About BeastMaster I am a BH/BM and the grind is not that hard I have 5 lvl 90 pets.

The new pets take my Klicnik Warrior for example are very powerfull and with a medic my pet can tank any Gold Elite. I'm always helping people out on Mustafar with quests.

Also makeing pets is more like Bio/Eng than Creature Handler and you actually have pet speicials you can learn and teach your pets and have up to 4 active at a time.

My Klicnik Warrior has a Bleed Dot, Poison Dot, Bite, and a defensive stance. He can hold aggro with NP.

Those that just try BM without researching it are giving out false information I can get a pet to lvl 75 in one day. Getting the Pet to lvl 90 takes about 5 days. Woooh so hard.

Let ask yo this did you feed your pet, did you use the pet xp-enhacements? Probally not!

I see people say ing things that are untrue here so often its a big joke.

 


When it takes longer to grind a pet than it does a character something is wrong period.

The perfect MMO would have plenty of whiners,bitchers and moaners but compare the amount from then and now large  there is a LARGE difference there are a lot more now which tells you the state of the game.

What we do know is that bioware and lucas arts are collaberating on an MMO but we dont know what it is yet, they said its not kotor so that is out but with their animated series coming this year and live action series in 09i think that would be a perfect time to make a splash with a brand new Starwars MMO i mean really what other games that are under lucas hood could they possibly use to be an MMO?

 What i find funny is that every game goes to the class based system when so many prefer the skillbased systems, that tells me one thing that with class based they prefer it because it takes less dev time and saves them money which as we all know is all they care about..but someone needs to take a risk and go with a skill based system then they will see people flock in if done right i would be there i loved the old system.

Hate to disagree but I will, combat is very similar to the CU now and its actully harder than it was in PRE-CU.  In Pre-CU days you got buffed by a Dr. and you where Superman for 3 hr's with the I win button pressed. The game is more challeging now than before maybe thats why your having problems.

 

Yes the ui is crap but that is why many many of us the UI mod that brings back the the PRE-CU ui for use.


Sorry but the changes with chapter 6 hurt the population more than it helped it..

 

It has nothing to do with an I win button it's about haivng something wothwhile to keep you busy while you wait for your friends/guilds to come online. Now instead of doing those things people just log. If you can't see that as bad for health of the game then you are blind.

Noone asked for all NPC's changed it but a vocal few. What most people wanted was NEW harder content not all the old stuff we were doing to pass the time made harder.

All it did was make the 12 million extra xp we have to grind from 80 to 90 now worthless since we are no stronger than we were at CL80 . Making peoples accomplishments and efforts worthless is what gutted the game int he first place.

add to that specials and heals still misfire and npc's still shoot through walls and floors.

You must not know how to play with the right expertise you can solo anything but gold elites which you are not suppose to solo but group.

 

A two person group can example BH and a Medic can solo Gold elites. So theres Plenty to do! Last Saturday I went Krayt hunting with a Medic friend and we killed 70 Krayts in about 2.5 hours.

It sure seems you want a easy I win button.


There was no "I win" button even with Doc buffs pre-CU. In fact, during pre-CU you needed a larger group than just two people to kill Krayt's for the most part. Killing 70 of them just goes to show how far the game has slipped. Krayt's were meant to be a rare thing and killing them an accoplishment. Now they're just a grind for a collection.

 

The thing is combat is nothing like it was pre-CU and mob difficulty is not what should have been adjusted. The continuing process of penalzing players for grouping, or limiting the amount of missions they can do, or giving players one huge grind to fill their time is not content. Even on the offical forums there are more bugs listed than ever and the more that's added, the buggier it gets. It's just a simple fact that you can not layer code, upon code, upon code and get a better system.

You make me Laugh PRE-CU Two people could solo Krayts same as we can now you must not have been in the right Guild 1 Jedi and a Master Doctor could do it.

 

In fact there where some that could Solo-Krayts Pre-CU but it took a long time.

Combat is better now after chpt 6 its just right.

Get your facts straight please geezzze.


 Actualy you make me laugh, for one most jedi would not go out with you to kill krayts pre-cu two onlycertain proffessions could solo krayts or do it in two man tandems while others had no shot what so everand not everyone wanted to be just one of those few proffessions who could,for example TKM could not do a thing to janta rockshapers because they were 100% kinetic resistant, but a rifleman could plow through them ,sorry but really you should get your facts straight  though it is obvious by the very few playing  right now that your in the minority when it comes to thinking the game is still very good.

I really didn't rush it this was my third time from zero to 90 and you get real good at knowing how to lvl.  The real content is on Mustafar and Wookie World with some quests that give you real nice items.

 I got to 90 in about two weeks in the nge, pre-cu i got master tk in 2 days i double mastered in a day in the CU.... the NGE leveling system is not only slower(which i dont mind so much) it is  so much more boring since you can not group grind anymore really like you used to be able to.

34 proffessions with 250 skillpoints would bring a lot back.

And I do remember the motto of NGE, which is still there, as it has been pointed for somene in a few posts above ´People do not want to read and think, they do prefer simpler things´... From the number 2 or 3 of MMOs to number 8 or 9... Then Smedley apologized... Then they talk about merging servers, then they talk about bringing back some old aspects of the game...

 

Ask again if CU was better or worst than NGE...

 

 


Smedley apologized for it because he knows it was not a good thing.

 

SWG has gone past the NGE imho, it should not be called that anymore.

The game is and will be continuing to have new things implemented which will further take it away from what was referred to as the NGE.


It has gotten better but as long as it has classes and not skills it is and will forever be the "NGE".

I was there when the NGE was implemented, they sprang it on everyone and within 2 weeks it was done. Aside from that, they were making you PAY to beta test a game that wasn't even in the TEST server for a month.  Then when they complained about the NGE after it went live, they started banning people from the Forums, for saying little to nothing. It was like a Nazi regime rolled into town killing off all the good happy veterans to bring in a world order noone in their right mind asked for. They took almost everything away, the classes, the hardships to become a jedi, at launch you couldn't even use commando weapons anymore.

I will give them credit for one thing and ONE THING only.  I love the flight battles. In no other game can I fly a Tie Fighter and build a star wars ship from the ground up. For that I love them... and hate them, because I won't waste money just for the ability to have a flight battle, then again there won't be any other MMO's out there where I can.

I hope SOE burns, to tell you the truth, I cancelled all my subscriptions after the NGE and I never will go back.

Everyone felt this way when it happened, me, Inat, you and everyone else.  And we were right to feel that way.  All we are saying is they know they screwed up and they got rid of most of that dev team as well.  The new one has slowly but surely gave us our game back and it is fun again.  You shouldn't give up on it...

 I disagree it could be pretty good..but it is lacking very very badly in content, class based games are built around content and skill based not so much, but they turned this into a class based game without the content, the number of people rose for a while but its dropped back off again because of boredom..simply put chapter 7 is just taking way to long to go live i mean theres no way it should be longer than 2 months tops to go live for any publish.
