I have looted some bindable items which my bard can equip.  I has equiped them without binding them.  I got the tip about the bindstone need to bind the item, but what is the advantage of binding ?.

Excuse the mindless flamers matey, they've pitched their territory in the Vanguard forums for over three weeks now.

Vanguard Forums = For Vanguard players, it kinda makes it a territory for VG players.
Vanguard forums are for everyone. For sceptics, for vanbois, for those merely curious and for haters.

And for haters who spend more time on this forum than in game .  Play more post less.

Becuase it isnt entertaining? Becuase people payed $$$ and Sigil arent living up to their end of the bargain?

OMG!!, rofl, 119 hours on these fourms.  Geez do you acutally play any games or just here to hate on SOE.  Man really you should be banned.  You didnt even put an IMHO in there.   You are a troll whose goal is to bash anything SOE touchs that is appearent.  IMHO the game is enteraining and I can see you don't but that is YHO now isnt it.   In YHO you dont feel they have lived up to the bargain, maybe some others dont feel that way.   If you are going to make an opionated statement please qualify it as such.

Jedi are a dime a dozen now and crafters still are lacking in SWG, your hidden agenda is exposed now , lol.

Of course that is MHO.

This is quite possibly my biggest problem with this game, it's filled with people like this. This is an absolute prime example of how a huge amount fanbois will treat you in game if you don't think this game is the end all and be all of MMO's.

What's even more ironic though, is these people will probably be here bitching in 6 months that the game feels empty.

You forgot to add IMHO to that.  You certainly seem like a "the glass is half empty" kind of guy.

Here have a brew and lightin up abit bro. .

SAVE YOU HARD EARNED BUCKS GIVE IT A MISS .

I had a hard time moving around also before I fixed my lag.  I went highest proformance and 1028x768 resolution and my FPS went from 5 to 25 even 45-50 in buildings.   It doesnt look horible to me or is it very jerky.  There are still some performance issues they need to work on but after I got ride of most of my lag my whole perception of the game changed.  I loved it now, easy to move around and fight.  The diplomacy part is a blast, I havent started harvesting/crafting yet but I was a crafter in SWG back in the day ( actually still have my account open, hehe) so I am really looking forward to that.

This game is a very good game with some bugs now.  I can only imagine what it is going to be like in acouple of months from now.   It is not the best MMORPG I have ever played, but I can see that it will be before long.  But the OP is way off base IMHO with the subject for this post.  If he fixes his FPS problem it would fix most of the issues he mentioned here.  Either the OP hates SOE or he is having PC issues.  I have play proably 15 MMORPGS and in no way is this one a waste of time, well no more than EQ, WOW, COH/COV, EVE  or any MMORPG is a waste of time.

I get the feeling the OP is thinking that Vanguard is going to kill what ever game he is really playing so this is a finger in the dyke type of thing going on here.

Civic diplomacy requires a certain number of points to parley, and there are different types of prestige to have ponts in.  I have been running the quest and I have 6/75 domestic and 1/75 outsider.   What do these points mean in relationship to civic diplomacy? Anyone have a good link about this?.

And what is COV's end game again?   Rinse and Repeat I believe,

From Iceola  lvl 50 Iceblaster/Devices.     I also ran two Villians to 35 when that was the cap.  No doubt Vanguard offers tons more in the way of playing options than COH/COV or WOW.   I have tried them both.  And IMHO EQ blows them away.  Unless you want a flash/bam mob died on to the next mob type of game.   You can't really compare a game like Vanguard to COH/COV they are for totally different crowds.  Vanguard is geared toward people that want to put years into a toon, COH/COV is geared toward people that want to put months into a toon.

If Vanguard lives up to the promises and fixes the bugs it will be the game for me.  I will give it time a fews months to settle.  In the mean time I will continue to level my bard and work my crafting/harvesting/Diplomate skills and have fun do it =).

Is Vanguard the best MMO ever,  well not at the moment, but it  has a serious upside that can't be ignored.  Again this is MHO.

I'd like to see Vanguard do very well, i have no faith in SOE for what they did to swg and some of there other games.

Some of you never did play swg say QQ more and whatever. but they took a diverse complex system and turned it into an easy coded class system. That alone tells me there a company who is not after bettering games, but just getting em by as long as there making some profit, reason they had to go to that simple system is cause they laid off the orginal developers who first came out with the games coding of the diverse system, and the developer team who took there place struggled with the coding massively and couldn't balance it out (partly cause of resource's and crafting were to hard to control for them, armor and weapons were becoming to high). SOE did this to lesson there cost for the game and make a more profit vs cost margin. the pathetic thing is the first revamp didn't work at all and they had to come up with another one. LOL

I lost all respect for SOE for this and anyone else who was a full time swg player did as well, so bashing people for it when you weren't there is pointless.  although this game suffered a hit in subscribers the game is filling its ranks once again mostly with people who were never there for the steel shaft SOE tossed out when the CU came then the NGE not long after.

however i would like to see Vanguard do well, dispite SOE has some part to play, i do eventually plan on playing the game since AoC was pushed back, right now i have some RL friends that went back to wow cause of the xpac, when there as bored of that game which shouldn't be to long, we'll be in Vanguard giving that game a go on the FFA server. hopefully by then some of the more drastic bugs will be crushed. The good news is by the time SOE trash's this game, like they have done to every other in the past, I will be long gone playing AoC followed by Darkfall.

o, btw. If and when Sigil and SOE release instance's in this game for raiding, which they prolly will. look to see an extra charge by SOE in order to enter the instance=)

flame away vanguard fans!, its ok to have high hopes for the game you pay to play, but to deny that the company who has a hand in the game does not have a histoy of screwing its customers (in more games then just SWG) is pathetic.

more pathetic then the ppl who lost respect to the company for what they did to there paying customers. sit in denial all you want, but your the ones crying about everyone bashing the company running the game, when that company has well earned there bashing in more then just 1 game.

as for me and several others, we learned from our mistakes, putting hope into SOE is 1 of em.

Just curious, which other games has SOE trashed other that SWG, which had constant Lucas Arts intervention.

I am not the OP, but Yes I lost my Jedi , those bastards!!!  But hey, I like vanguard alot.  Bought it last night, started a bard and I am now level 3 and climbing.  I am tring to get a handle on harvesting/Crafting side of the game.  Can't hardly wait until I start the diplomatic processes.    Hey, I like EQ still so the references to VSoH being EQ with houses is ok with me.   I will give any game a chance.  I want to have fun when I play not fuss and fight over the game.  A sample explanation for why you dont like the game is all that is needed and then move on.   I never understood why people would want to ruin other peoples fun.

I have played other games some I liked alot ( EQ, SWG, COH ) some I didnt ( Eve ).  But I didn't go on rants over and over again on those games forums.  Like a poster said earlier in the post, Eve is apparently a very good game, just not my cup of tea.  Others could feel the same way about SWG,EQ or even VSoH.

Every MMORPG I have played that was fresh to the live market has required alot of patches.  And yes SOE will have some influence on VSoH but I am not going to let that stop me from tring to it.  The upside of this game is enormous in comparsion to many other very popular games.  So, basically it is to each his own and I hope all of you that are looking for a virtual home find it and have fun doing it.

I have 5m DSL, I still play EQ( 5 years) and SWG( 3 years).  I haven't really seen any issues with these games.  Not sure have to determine if I have bad latency or not.

I also read in the manuel that you need a 100% Directx compatible keyboard and/or input device, not sure if this could be a issue with my keyboard and mouse or not.

I seem to have a lag between when I turn or target and the action actually happens.  FPS seems good and the mobs and other PC's seem to be moving fine, not jumping around.  But when I turn it seems to take a second or so for my toon to actually turn.  Anyone have this issue before?  I tried to find it on the fourms but couldn't.  Maybe someone can point me in the right direction.

Economy is FAR from dead buddy, maybe you should play the game before uttering such blatant lies.

Haven#t played for a year now. I am pre-cu / pre NGE Master Armorsmith so please answer a few questions so you can judge about economy:

- Is Bio Engineer back in game to craft Tailor upgrades?
- Are there clothing attachments back in game or something else so Tailors have a reason to craft 4 socket clothing?
- Is decay back in game for clothing / armor so people need ot rebuy armor often?
- Is loot drop on weapons and armor removed / reduced so players craft the best available armor / weapons again?
- Can a character unite a crafter and harvester (ranger) in one person

Starwars Galaxies one had a COMPLETE player controlled economy. That got removed with loot drops, remove of decay and single profession characters. Do not call this new system "economy", makes me cry.

I have heard nothing about additives or tissues coming back.  I have a Master Chef who was also BE.  But the trader revamp is suppose to give the ability to remove tapes/AAs from looted clothes and apply them to crafted ones.  This would put crafted armor/clothes ahead of looted, because crafted has such better resist.  I use crafted armor on my BH now and  looted mod jewlery.  Everyone gets at least two toons for each server now, so while sadly you cant have a crafter/ranger, you can have a crafter and a harvester on the same server with only one account now.  And the crafting systems is still the best around.

I played SORysom for awhile, it is a good game indeed, but its crafting isnt close to SWGs.  There are set qualities for resources and no experimentation or harvestors or factories as of March 06.  But it is a player controlled economy, all the items are crafted, except maybe a few starter items and the community was great.  And you can learn every skill available if you take the time.  I havent played rings yet, but I hear good things about it.

As for the economyin SWG, my food sells well and I make Mustafar stims from the glowies, they sell good also.  And there has never been a problem selling spaceparts ( ACE Imp pilot ).  Of course, looted weapons and looted multi-stated wearables sell good, but I dont like them being in the game either.

Anyone ever had space combat in EVE, I played EVE for a couple of months, after playing SWG, I would say the combat is much better in SWG you actually have to aim and fly your ship,  with EVE it is point and click to move and select target to fire. And of course no ground combat, I really didnt like EVE alot, but it has a good rating so alot do like it I would guess.

What I am getting out of these posts is that even if the game is better now, and if it was a really good game now, many wont even try it because of what happened in the past.  So the problem did start with the devs and management ripping the game apart.

But now the game is more stable than before and there are more mission and pvp areas than before, but there are still alot of things missing that people liked.  Would the old fanbase like the new game.  Well if they go into it like I did, as a 3 year vet who quit for 8 months after nge, I looked at it as a new game.  Once target lock came back, although FPS is still an option if you want to use it, the game combat became enjoyable to me again.  And with expertise trees you still have more flexiblity than alot of MMORPG's out there.  Crafting system is great, the best of any MMORPG I have ever played.  With experimentation, different stats on resources it can give you different results every time you craft the same item.  They do need to work on the crafted item vs looted item issue though.  Looted items are still preferred currently, that is suppose to be addressed in the trader revamp which was pushed back from chapter 3.  I like the game now.  But had I went in looking for all the things I know that were taking away and not enjoying what is there, then the game wouldn't have had a chance.

So is it the players fault the game lost alot of players? Is it the players fault that the population is rising on corbantis again?  Well I would say both of these things were SOE's fault.  They stripped out abunch of cool stuff and alienated alot of players and then they made the game fun again for me at least.  I took 8 months pay for 3 accounts away and now I have brought 2 back online.  There is no doubt in my mind that the entire thing is SOE's doing.  But I think the point is do players wont to give this new dev team a chance to make a fun game or will they not and just post stuff like "I hate the FPS system they make us use" when actually that isnt even the case anymore.  We learn from the past, and that is what is hurting SWG now, not the game play.  IMHO it offers the most of any MMORPG out there, if you want to flame me, please just name one other game that offers more areas of entertainment than SWG.

"After reviewing all of the player feedback to the various proposals, it was determined that we needed to take more time with Crafters.  As a result, Crafters will not get an update in Chapter 4.  That's all I can really say at the moment.  I'm sure this will come up at the Stratics Chat tonight, so there might be more info to be had there."

I'm not thrilled by the news as I was looking forward to this for my Armoursmith, however if it means not pushing it out before it's ready then I agree with the decision.  Don't want another NGE now do we ;)

Rofl outstanding.

Can we take bets on this now?    I am nost sure this is allowed though here.

So does this mean they did not fufill a (Plan or I dare say)  concept Obraik?

Please make this clear.....

Actually, I would call this communication.  Something there wasnt much of between players and developers back in your SWG days, it is understandable that you dont reconize it.  But I had rather the devs be honest and communicate than just have the date pass and not get it.  Now, that would be a not fulfilled plan.

Some people just can let go, it is really getting sorta sad with Isk here. Why continue to post in an area for a game you dont play and have no intentions of playing.  Ahh, TROLLING.  Makes sense now.  ISK = TROLL.  Thanks for the update Obraik

Wow man you are unlucky, I got stuck in space, and CSR answered me in about 15 minutes.  And when perma-incap bug happened to me, obviously before they fixed it, CSR answered me in 5 minutes. Some people just have dumb luck     When I accidently called my Razor Cat when I was tring to move it, it is a decoration in my Mall, I put a ticket in,  1 hour later it was back in deed form again.

I really cant complain about CSR response in SWG.   But like in EQ, when the wizard epic was bugged, it took 2 days for me to get my components back,  so it does happen in all games I am sure, I guess timing is everthing.

Indeed, there are more people playing on Corbnatis now, that is a fact.  I see them nightly.  Another good way to judge activity is by looking at the trader forums.  In CU, your post would be off the first page in about an hour, after NGE it was taking 8 hours.  If you check Corbantis trade forum now, the front page covers about 2 hours.  I have seen an increase in sells on my Chef toons also.  I dont see any 100 people masses like DMO was during CU, by there are alot more active now then when NGE first hit.  I saw about 50 people at the PVP area on corellia by 3 days ago.  I would say 6 months ago, I would wonder if 50 people where on the whole server , P.  I am loving seeing old friends popup on my friends list too.
