Must be some kind of joke.

older accts have 2 advantages

- they are silver accounts

- all older characters are exempt from having to buy race/class unlocks

your existing legendary+ gear is an issue and an admitted turnoff

for 1.50 you get 5 unlockers --- for 4.50 you can wear all your fabled gear  (15 items)

Question: How does the unlocks work? Is it by item or by slot? Meaning if I unlock the ability to wear a Fabled/Legendary item in my chest slot is it permanent or is it only for one item?

EDIT: Nevermind it seems to be per item and not slot.

Folks need to use the proper commands to see the total online population. /who all count

Me and my better half started playing the game 2 weeks ago, as far as population go, it's around 160 during a weekday, 200ish during a weeknight and during the weekends it can almost reach 400 to 500 online (this is US tmz). Granted it still is a very low population and with a world as massive as Telon, it can seem rather empty.

Got my key and downloaded the game my question is when is the beta this weekend or next I'm really confused.

If I'm not mistaken it starts at 8AM Central and ends at 4PM Central (CST US TMZ)

Because not all the stores that were listed on the official Tera site have the CE of Tera available for pre-order yet, it seemd to me a good idea to start this thread so we can put all the stores that do have the CE in here.

EUROPE:

play.com has the CE for 53.99 euros and 39.99 pounds

amazon.co.uk has it for 41.72 pounds.

amazon.de has it for 69.90 euro.

NORTH AMERICA

could not find any shops where you could pre-order CE in NA

AUSTRALIA

could not find any shops where you could pre-order CE in Aus

If you find other sites that have the CE please post it here. I will update the post when more shops pop up that have the CE.

how can it be 53.99 euro on play.com and 69.99 euro on amazon.de?????

Some of them don't seem to have VAT included.

Me and my better half actually just started playing the game last week (I initially played at launch but quit after 3 months).

It's a really fun and challenging game (there's still corpse runs, since they haven't patched the game yet with the PTR version), although it's sad that there's not that many people playing the game.

I'm sure if it went F2P it would increase it's population, I also find it sad that folks that start in the Isle of Dawn miss out the wonderful racial starting zones, specially Ca'ial Brael.

Do you have to start out in the Isle of Dawn?

To expand on Sovrath response, only Trial accounts are forced to start in the Isle of Dawn.

But the beautiful part is that they can always go there and do the quests anyway. I like the IOD. Its  Great introduction to the game. Learing Diplo and Crafting cant be quite hard for some so this give them a nice shot at getting it early.

I waited till 50 then started diplo. I did however start crafting when i was lvling. Would get 5 advent lvls then get 5 crafting lvls. sometimes would just do crafting till i felt like adventing again =) its a great game. hope it goes F2P very very soon

Peep the sig out!! 2 of my VG toons.

Oh I totally love Isle Of Dawn, my issue is that the rewards for IoD a far, far better than anything one could get in the original starting areas.

Perhaps they might revamp the rewards for those areas.

I'd definitely play again IF they allow the vets to keep their already made characters and classes. I would not want to come back and start a new character like how it was with EQ2

I'm almost positive they will allow it, since they did the same thing with EQ2.

I have a Dirge, Illusionist and a Paladin (all paid classes currently) for free since I already had created them before the F2P conversion.

Also you'll be Silver member like EQ2 (if I'm not mistaken).

It might.

Sounds like a good idea but far too late. The graphics are way outdated which will deter new players. As well, Sony's version of f2p is terrible. Their basic model is, players can login and make a character but if they want to chat or quest or make money or make a cool race, then you need to pay 15$ a month.

Not really, if you want a specific race or class you can buy them on the SC Market, my problem is that they rip off people...$7.50 for a class.

Another issue that annoys me is that they don't allow free players to wear Fabled/Legendary items, at least let folks that prefer micro transactions to pay for access to Fabled/Legendary without having to subscribe.

You have to be kidding me... The original EQ F2P before VG F2P? That is absurd.. I mean, I understand the anger and animosity involved in the whole SoE vs Sigil thing, but come on.. Money is money and VG would bring in players and flow (if they did the CS right) to SoE anyway..

Anywho, I will more than likely get on this and return to a different age of mmo (if its even the same anymore).. Hopefully they create a new progression server that starts the timeline over with no expansions and works its way through them over time..

So they increased the team size and there seems to be a new Producer.  Hopefully this means Vanguard might go the F2P route soonish.

Well Smeadley continue with what he announced some months ago. SOE change from p2p to freemium model totally.

Imo in max 2 years all SOE titles will be freemium. I bet EQNext will be as well.

Oh totally, they already announced that Planetside 2 will be F2P, so EQ Next will almost certainly follow the same pattern.

Looks nifty.

AMD has listed five more on their site:  Radeon HD 7670, 7570, 7470, 7450, and 7350.  But look at the specs:  they're a Radeon HD 6670, 6570, 6450, 6450 (again!), and 5450, respectively.

I didn't like the 5770 and 5750 becoming the 6770 and 6750, respectively.  But there you could at least make the case that they were still fairly modern cards.  Not so with renaming 40 nm cards into a 28 nm lineup.  The older cards also lack DirectX 11.1 support, PowerTune, and some other modern features that the "real" 7000 series cards will bring.

So far, these are still only OEM cards.  So you'll see companies like HP try to convince their customers that it really is a 7000 series card, but they won't show up at New Egg.  Or at least, not yet.  But the 6770 and 6750 started out as OEM cards before ending up available to everyone under the new name.

So why is AMD doing this?  My guess is that Southern Islands doesn't contain any true low end GPU chips, and their business model is to keep selling 40 nm GPU chips to fill the low end.  If even the bottom bin of Cape Verde is a $100+ card, then a lot of people simply aren't going to pay that.  The charitable explanation is that renaming cards into the 7000 series indicates that this is what AMD has for such customers in 2012.

So why not make new GPUs at the low end with the modern features?  TSMC's 28 nm process is in high demand, but still has limited capacity, so they're charging a lot per wafer.  Higher end cards have to move to the 28 nm process for a variety of reasons.  For lower end cards, it would be nice, but isn't as critical.  So AMD decided to move the higher end cards to 28 nm and keep the lower end at 40 nm for now.

I'd expect that AMD will eventually launch some lower end 28 nm cards, but that might have to wait for the Radeon HD 8000 series.  By then, TSMC's 28 nm HPL process node should be mature and have plenty of capacity.

Now we just wait to see if Nvidia renames their old cards into a new series, too.  Kepler is still a while off, so there isn't yet a need to rebrand the lower end Fermi cards into a Kepler series for the same reasons that AMD is doing rebrands.  But then, Nvidia's GeForce 100 and 300 series cards were pure rebrands, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 600 series ended up that way, too.  Even the GeForce 500 series cards were a mere respin.

It's really disappointing, I was hoping for something better than what this 7xxx series is and of course it doesn't help that they are mostly renaming 6xxx series into the 7xxx.
Anyway I saw a XFX 6950 2GB for $200 so I decided to jump the gun and bought it, it really is a wonderful card, specially when one unlocks the shaders.

Woah those were seriously game breakers, thank god they fixed those bugs that have not been in the game since 2nd beta. whew game changer.

They still didn't fix the unresponsive cobat feel even with e GCD fix, they got to fix multiple things like the animations for example since they went with visuals over response or flow.

As much as I enjoy the game I have to agree. I play a Smuggler-Scoundrel (Sawbones spec) and when I'm crouching everytime I hit a healing ability it cancels half way through because of the animation (it forces me to crouch again instead of finishing the healing animation, thus canceling my heals).

It's quite annoying, so I play a Smuggler that can't use the cover mechanic because of these issues.

Lets not forget Steam as well. It truly is a shame.

I went ahead and changed my password and installed their Mobile Authenticator on my tablet.

I guess if everyone pre-ordered the day they announced pre-orders then maybe everyone could launch today. But they didnt..so they can't. You're getting pissed over semantics....they didn't sell us anything except a game. If you pre-ordered the game  then you could get early access as a perk. It is what it is.  I didn't pay extra for early access...I paid what I planned on paying once I saw the different options. I didn't even know if there was early access when I pre-ordered because I didn't read about it at that time. I fail to see how we are being "played". When it's not costing me anymore than I ever intended to pay AND I get 7 days advance play. I wish more companies would play me like this....oh ..that's right..they have ....because I've  played at least 3 other MMOS that offered the same deal..pre-order=headstart. No one bitched then..well..that I remember.I was too busy playing.

If you bought the game digitally from origin for early access you did pay an extra 5 dollars as a seperate fee.

You sure it wasnt a deposit?

At gamestop's here in Canada you have to pay a $5.00 deposit on a pre order for any game period. It isnt an extra charge and gets taken off the final bill for the game/games

Origin charged 5usd + the price of the game. So no its not a deposit

Actually, they didn't charge you the price of the game yet. They charged the full price, then refunded everything except $5.  So you WILL get charged again on launch day.

Ok they explain me this..

Which was fully charged to my CC. So you mean to tell me EA is going to refund me 5usd on the actual release?

That is YOUR problem. I pre-ordered from Amazon.com and I didn't get charged for any Pre-Order.
