microsoft didn't sntach anything from playstation. sony was goin bankrupt and microsoft bailed them out and gettin 6 of there top selling titles was part of that deal. microsoft is also getting metal gear and god of war along with a couple others.

Its always nice to see someone living in La La Land. Keep it up.

That is becuse the games engine is built around the EQ2 engine that was built with super fast cpu;s and not so powerful gfx in mind (the opposit what we have now days).

Just to correct you, Vanguard actually uses Unreal Engine, it has nothing to do with EQ2 Engine.

Vanguard has a raiding endgame that is terrible.  1 raid dungeon plus some overland raid mobs.  No new raid dungeons in over 2 years and work on any new raid content has been stopped until at least March.  The Vanguard raid content has also been watered down to almost make it pointless with the new level cap raise to 55.  Where any non skilled guild now can simply walkthru raid content.  Most veteran players have quit in disgust.

Can anyone confirm this? When I play an MMo I hope to play it for years, not get to max level then have nothing to do. Anymore information on both games would help, I'm still undecided. Also, I played WoW on a PvP server. Would PvE servers have better communities?

RP-PVE/PVP servers tend to have slightly better communities, but like everywhere else there's always a douche to ruins one experience

How the hell is it in the top 3 when Amazon, D2D, and Steam are the top 3? I don't know where you get your info, but I think its time to start getting it from somewhere else.

You are comparing apple and oranges mate. Steam and D2D are Digital Sellers ONLY, while GoGamer.com sells physical copies (like Amazon), hence why its one of the top 3 retailers.

I find it pathetic when posters flat out lie to try and justify their position. The total cost of  premium content is $7.00 US, and that is for the Warden's Keep. The Stone Prisoner and Blood Dragon Armor are included with every new retail purchase, no additional charge.

Also, the reason that 'The Stone Prisoner' and 'The Warden's Keep' are available at launch is because EA delayed the PC release to that of the consoles. If the PC version was released earlier this year as intended by Bioware, then everyone would be paying for $15 US for the 'The Stone Prisoner' instead of having it included in the retail price of the  game.

So true, folks seem to forget that the cost of the DLC is $7 everything else is free with a new copy of the game.

Not sure where you would find a unused CE at this point.

Mines of Moria Collectors Edition $9.99

Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar Collectors Edition $9.97

For the UK you get

Lord Of The Rings Mines Of Moria Special Edition £12.70

lolz, used versions.

I may pick up a new version, just for collection sake.

Yup, I find it interesting how can someone try and sell used MMO Games but I guess there's always a sucker out there.

My thoughts, why post it in the MMORPG section, even though MMORPG.com has ads, we as a community can atleast put topics like this in the off topic, or in the none-mmorpg section.

That, or maybe MMORPG.COM could create a section dedicated to genre related games that are not MMO's.

Either way, it would probably prevent some confusion.

There's a sub-Forum called General Gaming where people can create this kind of threads.

I personally enjoyed the game very much. It took me 68h77m to finish the game with my Human/Noble Warrior and currently I started playing a Dwarf/Commoner Rogue.

The story is really great and if you read Dragon Age, The Stolen Throne and Dragon Age, The Calling then you actually get to appreciate the world alot more.

People complain about the combat but I guess they missed what Bioware ALWAYS said. Dragon Age: Origins is supposed to be the spiritual successor of Baldurs Gate and to me it surely hasn't disappointed me.

I like the animations, like the one below when fighting.

Ok so I am going to rant here and also as for some information.

My question is why is Dragon Age single player only?

I am sure the devs had stated reason so please  inform  us.

Money wise bioware is a large company I bet they could hold the game back for multplayer work. Co op mode at least.

I think by spending more money to include a co op mode would increase sales  past the additional cost.

Personally I know myself and others would have bought Dragon Age had it been muliplayer.

The fact that Co Op mode would not nessarily substinally impare the enjoyment of a person playing the game in single player fashion is even more disturbing.

Often times MMO game companies will make choices that turn potential customers away because it is an either or choice.  I Fail to see how BIoware can not incorperate Co- Op and accomdate single play.

How many people choose not to buy games like boarderlands because it has co op?

Sorry I just feel pretty annoyed.   Maybe a reasonable responce will quell my fustrations.

If I recall correctly the reasoning behind Dragon Age: Origins being a Single-Player RPG was due to the fact that they wanted to release a full fledge Single-Player experience and not bother with tacked on Multiplayer/Co-Op experience.

They also said it was a new IP and they wanted to make it right the first and that future Dragon Age games will probably feature a Multiplayer/Co-Op functionality.

To be honest I don't mind that they scrubbed Co-Op since a game with a Pause system would make it quite annoying when playing with others. Specially in the realm of choosing what path you want to take in conversations with people. I had this problem with NWN1 & 2, whenever I talked to someone the game would pause for everyone else and no one could do anything until I finished the conversation, not only that but the path you chose on the conversation would apply to the entire group.

This is why I'm quite interested in seeing how TOR will implement the conversation system when in a group. Not everyone wants to be the good guy and not everyone wants to be the bad guy.

P.S. A GPU upgrade would always increase your performance in wow, since the release of the game.  A GPU upgrade, even today in EQ2 does almost nothing.

I agree completely. If anyone wants to see FPS improvement on EQ2 just overclock your CPU.

I think it's beautiful.

However, I also think it's more likely for J.J. Abrams' next Trek movie. He's big on viral marketing, all the ships in the video are TOS-era, and the Soviet Union image of Klingons is more TOS-Klingon than anything else.

I agree. The Video was also quite funny and good.

I'm actually thinking of coming back to WoW.

What I find in WoW that other games can't satisfy me is the sheer mount of content and fun things to do. Of course I can only play for like a month or so before I need a break again.

Space, Orcs, Elves, Humans and whatnot, it sound so much like Warhammer 40k

Gala-Net's upcoming fantasy MMOG, Aika, is now accepting Closed Beta sign ups! You will need a gPotato account to sign up, but other than that the process is pretty simple!

Sign up here!

This is probably one of the few Asian MMOs that I'm seeing a FULLY armored Female character.

As a consumer this is great news but unfortunetly some companies have made me wary of long term MMO commitments. I'd be much happier with a decrease in the monthly rate (on a per month basis).

They could have made it 3 months for 9.99 just like LOTRO. I'm sure it will boost their subscription rate if it were that price.

well from what has been said on the boards is that they are going to rampup beta invites, But it is not going to be just the paid first. The line is long and everyone has to wait till it is thier turn. paying to get it does not make your first in line , I wish it did :)

Actually they just confirmed that those that purchased the 6 month/Lifetime for CO will be the getting in first.

We don't have an invite schedule set in stone just yet, but people who signed up for a lifetime or six-month subscription will most likely get invited to test the game first.

Will it be ready by then? Just how far along are they?

I really have to wonder that. They really are moving rather quickly with STO and from what I've been reading, they probably will release the game with the basic systems all in place and tested. After release they will implement some of those features that folks have been wanting (ex. ship interiors, etc...)

I have not played a Cryptic game before, is beta any different in their games? how is testing in their games, are things in good shape for launch? I read that Champions released ok.

I have a feeling that the basic systems will be well done and like you said things added in further down the line.

Well Beta in CO was kinda strange, since the servers were only open at certain hours for a couple of days a week. Some of those opening hours were during the day on a week day which made it impossible for some people to test the game.

Hopefully they will implement what they learned with CO (since they are using the same engine and network architecture). Champions released fine for me, the only pet peeve was the major patch/nerf on launch day but besides that it was a fun game.
