Yep as a few above have said I'd wait , give it 3-4 months .It should be in a tad better shape by then.

I wouldn't expect buddy keys until around that time anyway, So it could work out in your favor . Saving you from dissappointment and wasting money .

To be honest, I wouldn't doubt that DX10 would cause more problems for them .

because *I* was one of the naysayers saying that WOW was good game but that EQ2 had a better launch

 

the majority of forums posters loved WOW at launch

I saw a post a few days back saying  when this happens, you are receiving Updates in the background which can cause hangs in zone loading . It has happened to me twice in the last 2 weeks .  When I restarted the launcher each time I did receive an update.

However , I have no proof that they were related. Other than that DEV announcement. You can find it on the official boards , I don't remember what section it was under though ,sorry.

Cell shading is one thing , But that avatar looks like it was drawn in Gimp or photoshop 5.0. Those partical effects are horrible.

Willfully and knowingly misleading people is wrong. Doing so makes you a bad guy.
Offering a refund doesn't make the good guys, it proves in fact that they were bad guys and they knew it.
The NGE was in production for 2-3 months, during that time, they knowingly misled their customers by telling them that Ranger was going to be revamped. They stated this all the time knowing the class was going to be removed.
That's not capitalism, that's fraud.

And its ofc a discussion on its own why a game that has been worked on in 5 years is launching with a graphical engine that doesn't support one single PC that was build at that time.   Maybe that tells us pretty much everything about where the real money went into.  It defently did NOT go into longterm planning of classes and abilites - considering that MANY classes launched with untested abilites.  And they are still beeing changed....

I also think you may be over exaggerating the specs required to have a decently playable experience.

It doesn't take a NASA Computer to test the basics and most important parts of MMOs... That is the gameplay - and the LONGTERM gameplay.  But thats another thing Funcom isn't thinking about - They only think short term money and they will ofc pay the price.

Just being associated with SOE is usually a good enough indicator of a bad game. The Station Pass has become the hospice of mmorpgs and companies with a decent product don't want to be associated with it. We all know SOE isn't responsible for the failings of PotBS but the very fact that they had to go with SOE in spite of their reputation was a huge red flag.

Well according to these forums(mmorpg.com in general) decent MMO's don't exist .So it's not only SOE housing a bunch of dead products I guess.

No not really , Just about every company handles their forums in the same manner .After all they are an extension of the game , And are accesible by non paying customers . Everyone knows the problems that exist with the game that cares to . Excessive posting of the same issue over and over again really dosen't help do anything other than push potential customers away . Would you expect Mcdonalds to put a sign up in front of their store that states their food is crap and noone should eat it ? Even though most already know this ,it just wouldn't be a good buisness decission .
