From people saying they hope I die in IRL, or crying about How I ruined their ingame experince. Scaming, griefing and player looting is a thing of the past. The golry days are over.. The carebare tears have cryied so hard the river Dam banks have broken and  a flood of medicore Theamparks are rushing down the vally...

I remeber the old days fondly and sadly they will never come again... All our potential victims have taken refuge in the next theampark and there is no way for us to get to them... I blame you developers.. you ruined all the fun I had with MMOs...

We still have EvE.. last light in a darkness filled with the mediocre and bland... and scared carebares who dont have the balls to play a hardcore game...

I feel a great swell of pity for you...but probably not for the reasons you are hoping lol I guess being a bully in a video game is better than going all Columbine IRL. I hope you find another outlet for your inferiority complex soon ;-)

AION didn't start good, the game was so poorly designed in so many ways, especially for the Western market which are who they were trying to impress to begin with. It was probably the most hyped game in a long while that people really had their eye on; they were expecting a far deeper game than what was delivered, NCsoft made it sound like a new-age WoW with a strong emphesis on story and deep quest mechanics, along with a really in depth and well designed PvP portion of the game. Both parts of the game came up short and were severely disappointing. PvE was atrociously designed, content was spread far too thin, they didn't have nearly enough quests to level with, and the rewards were horrendous. The combat system was the best thing it had going for it outside of the graphics. If they had delivered what they made it sound like, they would of had a massively successful MMORPG on their hands. They didn't, and so people left. Now they're F2P and it's the best decision they could of made for this game if they want to be able to rebuild their playerbase, and grow into a massive success.

OMG....paragraphs....please....../faints from eye strain

Not sure why Blizzard is getting all of the hate. It kind of reads like Valve has no business in this mess either. TBH, that read was a bit confusing and iam not really sure what the hell is going on.

If I am reading that correctly, neither Blizzard nor Valve hold the rights to the DOTA trademark?

"Two years later, Riot Games purchased the rights to DotA All-Stars LLC. Now here's the interesting bit. Last year, Riot Games had apparently transfered the rights to DotA All-Stars to LLC, giving them ownership of of all rights DotA All-Stars LLC may have had in connection DotA Mods and the DotA All-Stars website, including any trademarks or good will DotA All-Stars LLC may have had in the DotA Marks.'"

Kind of a cluster if you ask me, and I cannot tell who is in the right after reading this mess of an article.

I dunno, I played some Skyrim, but wasn't all that amazing to me.

I prefer the old school RPG's where we controlled a party of 6 different characters and used them to overcome huge obstacles.

In Skyrim I managed to kill a dragon with a bow and the equivalence of a magic missle spell. (and some help by some nearby enemy castle guards)

Was OK, but not as cool as one might think, mostly a lot of ducking and hiding (and restarting).

I guess it's OK for games in the modern style of RPG, but I miss the old days of course. (being a bitter vet and all)

I would kill for someone to remake Ultima IV in the Skyrim engine, but I am sure it would be heavily gimped/simplified.

SKyrim sucks :(

seriously if you think this is the best thing ever, then you need 2 get out more :P

Played it, and its meh

but whatever makes you happy :)

so go for it! :D

Just don't xpect me 2 :D

Since I don't get out much, can you tell me what trumps Skyrim. I'd really like to hear it.

Ok before skyrim a few games i was playing where Risen And Dragon age orgins and witcher 2 now when i try to play these games i have 0 interest at all!!! i cant even be botherd to roam the lands and explore or even do quests anymore in them cause skyrim set the bar so damn high!! anyone else feel this way?

I'm gonna go out n a limb and say that someone with a 4-post history named dragonbornee, signing the praises of Skyrim to the detriment of all other MMO's is probably a paid viral marketer trying to reach the last few remnants of gamers who haven't played it yet...

Dueling: it's like having a friend just show up at your place of work and ask for a quick game of checkers in the middle of your shift.

I remember that in WoW, alliance, if you wanted to duel, you could just go outside the city and there was a regular old circle jerk going on. I hated it when morons would ask for a duel between the bank and the AH, where people are clearly running back and forth, conducting some form of personal business.

Think about where you are before asking for a duel. Time and Place, man.

I'm not gonna lie, I am getting really excited about the possibilities of Dust 514. Lately I have been playing Battlefield 3' after a FPS dry spell of several years. I am having fun with it.

My EvE toon was born in October of 2004, and the idea that I can take my enjoyment of BF3 type gameplay and have my eve pilot benefit from it....so effing awesome!

NOW...all of this will be void if the gameplay just sucks. Adding insult to that possible injury...I suck at FPS with a game controller....prefer the mouse and keyboard or nostro.

So, very excited...but still wary.

As for WoD, I know nothing about it and I want it to stay that way....whatever it becomes...good or bad, I prefer to be completely oblivious and let the tell me what it is when it launches. I am tired of the hype/let-down cycle.

Why are so many threads here allowed where people just tell us that they cancel there sub? Why?

I mean, yes, great for you. Glad that you find out that you dont like the game, superb that you want to go back to your old game. But why posting this? Why? Warum? Pourqoi? Por qué?

Well this is a forum for people to discuss MMO's and their experiences playing them. It would be pretty dull it a topic was only allowed to be discussed once by anyone. But thanks for asking!

The only way I would sign a Full-loot petition is if the items in the game are easy to get, easy to make. Anotherwords, the game cannot be 'object-oriented' like most modern MMOs. I don't wanna have to work through raids to earn special armor just to have some asshats take it from me.

Full loot worked in UO because almost everything was generic, run-of-the-mill crap. If you lost it, it was reletively easy to rearm yourself.

I know very little about this aspect of the game, so I ask....how important is gear and items in this game? If all your crap gets jacked, does that really, seriously screw someone over?

Lets repeat what OP said because you obviously didnt care to read: SEPARATE FULL LOOT SERVER

That means even if it WAS accepted you wouldnt have to play there.

So you are telling me that if this gets approved, yourself and other people just like you will get there own server somewhere else?

Please tell me where to sign :-)

Title speaks for itself. How has the population faired once billing restarted? A sharp drop, did most people stay?

I ask as I look forward to the changes that they highlighted on the recent roadmap, but worry if it can survive that long if a lot of people left.

This is not an exploit...this is intelligent players using the game mechanics given to them by Bioware. If you wish to place blame, place in where it belongs...on the developer.

This type of PVP behavior is not new. Maybe it Beta testing was More testing and less PR blitz, new ways to cope with this could have been implemented, testing, refined and employed.

In fairness though, so long as players come back to life quickly, with no real penalty for death, I cannot think of a way to prevent this behavior in an organic way (meaning one not analogous to hitting an invisible wall...immersion-breaking).

I will, I liked gliding around. So much so, that even after i put it down and move on, I am continually trying to glide in other games by jumping and holding the spacear off of ledges...it doesn't go well...

"As you have violated our Terms of Service we will be applying a ban on your account. We are banning your Account, effective immediately. Continuing to violate our Terms of Service may result in further action against your account up to and including permanent account closure."

The above statement from the 'Bioware' email reads more like one of those badly written phishing emails rather than a Lawyar-Approved canned response from a billion dollar company.

The first two sentences basically say the same thing, your account is banned. Lawyers are nothing if not effective with words. Then the next sentence states continued violations will earn you a account closure?! One, if I was banned, how could I violated the TOS further. Two, what's the difference between a ban and closure?

Was it a temp ban and they are threatening a permanent ban? If so, they would have clearly specified the terms of the ban in the email. If they mean you are banned from SWTOR and the second threat is for your origin account, it would have clarified this as well.

This email is complete BS and. Strongly suspect the OP was the originator of this junk from the SWTOR forums. Just trying to stir up crap with crap. /shrug

Anyway, that is my analysis.

You can skip the voice acting and I'm actually doing it with some of the side quests, but then again I love voice acting in major quests and class quest line. It kind of puts RPG in my MMO which I have missed long years.

If you skip the voice acting you have half a game, a shell

No game is as good as Vanguard..am i right?

Dude, you are always right!...except maybe this one time, but HEY, no one is perfect, am I Right?!

Looking at the TOR facebook page it looks like a lot of folks dont understand that a sub is needed to play the free month. And people say WOW brought in the ignorant masses.

This is a sign that this game may be HUGE, in that its not only hitting WoW subs and other MMOs, but bringing in a whole new set of players to the genre.

Whether or not this is a good thing will be has been heavily debated since WoW's success. /Shrug

Either way, there is NO shame in being new to something and not understanding how it works. However, there is a great deal of shame for the ridicule of those new players. Can we make an app store that sells self-esteem, i expect this would elimitate a lot of this behavior.

Oh come on, how can Tron possibly compare to Star Wars ?

Tron is essentially a completely riddiculous scenario that was only possible back then because people didnt knew much about computers. Even if I had a good story, I wouldnt want to waste it on the Tron scenario.

Star Wars is the second most successful movie title of all times, on inflation corrected list, after Gone with the Wind (and the later had many advantages Star Wars didnt had, like wellknown actors and basically unlimited budget).

Dude, did you just call Tron a ridiculous scenario while comparing it to Star Wars?! LMAO!!

Sure, cuz ships really do fly through a vacuum like aircraft and we really can use the force, we just havent figured it out yet....Star Wars is WAY MORE BELIEVABLE! lol :-)

They are both obsurd...that is why they are called science FICTION! Besides, the quality of the movie has absolutely NO impact on the quality of the game based on it (Matrix online comes to mind)

Two factions, for or against users.

Arena PVP consists of light cycle battles, disc wars, CTF, etc

Non-arena gameplay would revolve around the conflict within the grid, program independence vs the Users.

Vehicles, cycles, recognizers, jets,

City to city solar sails, etc.

I am just pulling crap off the top of my head, but PvP combat would be more games based, etc.

Thoughts?

Someone tried this with Oblivion, not sure how it came out but for the time i was waiting for it, it never really worked. Here's hoping...Adding online play is a HUGE undertaking for a dev team.
