I want to play this beta because it is rare to find a sci-fi mmo with comedic elements in it

I wouldn't recommend it.  It really does sound too good to be true, and what constitutes as being 18 euros cheaper could still be 42 euros more expensive if it turns out that it is a scam.  Put the extra money and go in with a reliable site.

Besides, I think greenman are still doing coupons for ESO.  If not, then at least you don't have to worry about an empty inbox and full outbox.

Heroes of the North, $199.99  :  Exclusive panther pet, Armored Spider mount, A specific drow skin, 2 mil Astral diamonds (ingame currency.) Thing is, the Armored Spider mount is a max speed mount whereas other people have to either buy the epic level mounts from the cash shop, auction house for exorbitant prices, or upgrade a mount also through exorbitant prices.

Knights of the Feywild Pack:  Moon Elf race, Unicorn, Some kind of pet, 600k Astral Diamonds.

So yeah, not exactly just seasonal things.  In fact, the Heroes of the North pack was originally one of the "founders packs," preorder packs which after they realized got them a good amount of money...removed founders from the name and just kept it on there.

im a bit confussed on the word "Exclusive " here, are you talking about things you cna onlly gt by paying rel cash for them or thing that are avilable for a limited time only and after that timne you cant ever get them agian.

i say this cause i fill there are two difrent disscussions going on in this threadd.

also i fail to see how any of the mounts in the cash shop are mor costly then $199 that a pretty steep price for a digital item, heck WoW expansions dont cost that much and look at the diffrence in scale of what ya get, those founder pack where  rip off.

In this case, exclusive applies to things that can only be bought for real cash. Other cases though are things that can be acquired only during a limited time doing a specific event, or buying during a limited time frame. The founders packs originally fell on to the second category but eh.  They decided who cares what the people who supported them think.

It's kind of like, don't half ass the exclusives/public items.  If you're going to make it exclusive, then just have it as exclusive.  If you're going to make it public, then just make it public.  Don't advertise an item as public and make it exclusive nor take an exclusive item and make it public.  I'm fine with exclusive items because those are what marks the dedication and collectors of a game.  I'm not fine when you flip flop on what status you want on the item after already releasing it.

The thing that "bugs me" about exclusive content is that one of the things I'm trying to get away from in the "real world" is the financial disparity people face everyday. Exclusive content brings this very thing to the forefront.

Now, for those thinking that I have no money, I do have money. Just not gobs and gobs, where I feel throwing away 100's or even 1000's on my gaming hobby is something I want to do. It seems that players used to "greasing palms" for advantages in real life appear to flock to the same practice in video games.

When I boot up a multi-player video game, I want everyone to be on the same financial footing, not buying "extras" with their real world cash. I pretty much feel the same way about the "gaming equipment" many gamers buy to "help them be better gamers." If an interface sucks, it should suck for all players equally. It is a virtual world (sometimes). Enjoy it for what it is instead of trying to bring your real world financial success into it.

Assuming you are talking about a F2P games here, how do you expect the company to make money or are you suggesting that they should make games for charity.

That is the down side of everything going toward F2P. You see a more equal financial footing in P2P games, but obviously F2P games have to offer advantages for money.

I knew I should have addressed F2P...

Of course F2P is whole different animal. It is set up from the get-go as a financial separatist endeavor. Those with cash, and the desire to spend it, will buy their way to the end game. Other players that either do not feel the need, or simply can not, won't.

I hope that cleared things up for ya...

[EDIT]
Is there a F2P title (that released F2P) that sells collector's editions or exclusive items?

Neverwinter does.

Just curious, what kinds of items? I know some games offer "seasonal" items in their cash shops. I know some game will pack on "special items" to time cards bought at certain stores. (Wiazrds101 is famous for this tactic.) Is that what you're talking about? Or is it different from these?

Neverwinter does.

There's not going to be one combination that is unique, just one with a little less people playing it.  Bosmer Archer is popular due to the fact that archery has always been associated with wood elves (Note:  Legolas is enough to get a lot of people to play it.)  All in all, if you enjoy playing Bosmer Archer then play Bosmer Archer.

Me?  I'm playing a Khajiit Dragon Knight.

Because for one, that video isn't of EQNext but rather Everquest Next Landmark, which is currently in alpha right now with only 60% of the features.

Second, the video is only 30 seconds long featuring just one aspect which can easily be drawn as "boring," just because it's a video of only one thing.

Really though, landmark is only for those who enjoy building like Minecraft or Terraria.  Regular MMO players wouldn't find it to their taste in this current stage.

GMG is a fantastic seller.  They pretty much have everything discounted at some point or other.  Not the only deal going on for ESO either.

If you preorder ESO through Ubisoft's Uplay store, you receive a free copy of an Assassin's Creed game pending the version you chose.  If you buy the standard, you get AC3.  If you buy Imperial, you get AC4.

G99 error means servers are down.  Also there's a landmark forums here, and any future errors errors should be reported in the general tech support section on the EQNext Landmark forums.

You and other sheep like you are the reason the companies got so insanely greedy

Yeah lets be okay with every shitty change and not criticize/boycott it!

People like you make me seriously sick ugh..

Got it.  Every day of our life is to be spent with a picket sign outside of every company building when they say they will be updating/releasing something.  Even though online boycotts don't work for crap and "shitty changes" are subjective from person to person.

Or the fact that if a company is greedy, it is because they are greedy.  Not because of "sheep."

He may make you sick, but you just make people feel pity.

Sigh, not another 200 Dollar edition because of a stupid statue. I had enough of that with SWTOR already! I never got rid of the Darth Malak statue, but I wanted the ingame goodies. I regretted that and swore never to buy such an overpriced package, and I won't. The book looks good. But why anyone would want a statue of Molag Bal is beyond me...

I hope a normal edition with SMALL goodies will be there, but if not I take a the normal edition.

Malak makes an awesome paperweight.  With Molag Bal, you'll be able to weigh down an even bigger stack of papers.

Or better yet....have a battle between them complete with pew pew effects :O

Besides Tim Drake/Robin, the first 3 Suikoden heroes and a hello kitty plushy is no place for ugly demons and fugly Sith Lords on my sideboard!

In that case, you have a better option.  If you leave Molag Bal and Malak infront of the hello kitty plushy overnight, you'll wake up to them tearing it apart á la toy soldiers style.

I like the dev.  I'm not getting the game though because if there's other customers like the OP that got everything without issue, then I'm not willingly walking into a headache of having to deal with that kind of community.  So, I'm going to opt for a pass.
This is what happens when the Patent Office has a keg party while at work.

I demand all colors of cash shop clothing be changed to purple and premium subscriptions for free for life.  If my demands are not met, then my union of me and my nine friends will picket your game on websites and make people seriously consider playing your game or not.

Personally i find the whole old raid mechanics completely handcuffing and restricting to my style of play and am glad EQ Next went without cookie cutter classes

What is your style of play if I may ask?

I want to be a Stealthy, Fire Slinging, heavy armored, Bow wielding character.

Wouldn't they hear the clanking of your heavy armor?  Or better yet, what if your armor creaks because you haven't oiled it in a while

I wasn't aware that casting spells meant my hands were broken.  My frail ol wizard bones means there's no way in heck I can heft up that heavy dagger and swing it when a warrior charges me and starts interrupting my spell-casts.

Posting a thread about why a thread got deleted is actually a violation on the official forums.

Which also applies to these forums as well, or at least it did the last time I looked at this sites agreement.

Oh it still is.  It's just more along the lines though of threads locked/deleted in this forum.

If you post about a thread locked on say FFXIV forum, then you're complaining about "Facist moderators of FFXIV."  Post about a thread locked on here though, then you're along the lines of screaming at in-house staffs' faces.

If they say hopping on one foot with your hand on your head and typing with the other, while webcam's on is the only way you're allowed to post on the forums, and you say no, then they are well within their rights to ban you.  It's their forums, first amendment doesn't apply as the rules they say are the forums constitution.  It's the same with any online forum...anywhere.

By the way, it's just a forum ban so who cares?
