LOL @ everyone trying to say this game is crap.

I've played a few MMo's and this one has the potential to be one of the best of them.

They'll fix the memory leaks, they'll fix the server spike lags, they'll fix the ctd's.....every mmo company works on such things..duh.

As for investors.... LOL at the guy saying that after one month they want their money back...  It's all a contract nice and clean and I promise you there is a time from launch before any such type of payments are paid out....and who's to say that funcom didn't use it's existing stock holder's money to fund AoC?  if that's the case then AO's "success" is what's propping this up....it's an old game if i'm not mistaken....

I played Ao, ,hated it (though i just played the freebie part to be fair)

I played Eve, space is beautiful, graphics are great....no avitars....

I played L2, looks great, plays worse than wow (really who needs another wow clone anyway?)

I played SWG....best game i ever played until Cu/Nge.  now worst game ever.

I played Entropia....uhh...boring

I played RF online....uhh..more boring

I played LOTRO.....another wow clone. cmon it's getting old

I even tried Flyff!!!!  LOL....ok i may be asking for punishment for admitting that.

I still play SL, best community ever in any game played. (if u can call it a game)

Aoc stacks up against any of them...even as it is now.  I think i'm qualified to have my say since I've tried a few others, no?

I'm pretty sure i've posted on LEC forums...even called some poor gal in some call center to complain..she had no clue what i was talking about...typical.

I've written newspapers even....no one cares.....

There was an article that made it to print, (can't recall the paper, but wanted to say it was a major one like NYT, or wash post or something)...where one person... who just happened to be a press reporter also played the game and got her chance to vent about it .....a really good article and it summed up what we all felt and much more....to no avail..

we've all pounded the doors of everyone we can think of and they just slam it or hang up.

That is why....  my voice will ever speak to ANYONE in the MMo game world....at computer stores when I'm shopping...at electronics stores....any discussion of online....I make sure they know SOE is a company that will never deserve a dime.

I never played a BH, but every BH I knew was dedicated to hunting and killing jedi....

ONe time in Mos Eisley (my first profession was master musician) there must have been over 40 ppl in the cantina just chillin, we had a massive amount of grouping going on....

One of the other music players was just doing his thing...

and all the sudden I heard that same sound that zapped princess lea in the original movie when she was captured in Ep. IV "there's one...set for stun!"  u know the sound...

and the guy playing the fuzz next to me suddenly exploded across the floor dead in one hit...lol...everyone in the cantina was SHOCKED....horrified!!!   he was killed completely by surprise....and I remember it being one of THE defining moments in swg....  where dying meant something.......ahhh...good times.

now it's all gone with a check?  sad.

but if i was an attorney....i'd sue as many times as it took to cost them money..just to be a pain in the legal department's side...

I've said it before... 

a Suit may not win, but it would send a message....  soe needs to suffer financial losses for what they did...not just loss of subscriptions...but legal battle costs...make them bleed some.  we all did.

If i was an attorney, i'd have already filed my motion..and i'd keep on filing them unti the judges throw me out.

for what it's worth....

i used to LOVE going badge questing pre cu...and some cu....that's what made swg worthy..

if u got tired of combat, you could bust out your droid engineer and craft....or go shopping in valley of death (bria maybe only had that city on tat..not sure never played any other servers)...or u could go explore a strange new world.....

they just don't get it... it was the most unique game before the nge.....now it's just another wow clone...and a poorly done one.

I'm shocked to see what looks like 30+ ppl in the same server!!! LOL...all hudled around vader is it? LMAO...

I remember when vader had to smack down every mouthy person that came close to him...i think I even got a DB from him one time for being /slap at him..lol....but...maybe it was my buddy that got db...too funny..

My lagspikes seem to coincide with the "deathblow" animations...which cost me precious time in a fight anyway..so i wish there was an option to turn them off...(given some time FC will prolly give that option anyway)

I noticed some graphics glitches starting in the last 3 days....  it could be just bad timing..but i installed a logitech quick cam then too...am considering blaming Logitech....their tech support with not even cooperate with firefox, so don't expect support over a game from them....   but I am enjoying AoC very much...despite the patches....  I have a 15/15 Mbit Fios connection..hehe...patches go fast for me.

look...the game isn't what SWG WAS.....but it's better than WoW ten times over.....FC will get the kinks worked out in time to have a xmas relaunch i'm sure....it'll be fine...ppl jump ship way too fast from stuff

I have a friend that has both xbox and ps3...he likes the ps3 better.

I own a ps3 and love it...  it's more than just games in my opinion.  blue ray player (though the upconversion is great for normal dvd's and i don't buy blue rays yet for that reason)

i have not played the xbox..but... sony just released a new version of the ps3 that is supposed to be 100% backwards compatible with all ps2 games too...so u have tons of games to choose from.

anyone else feel free to chime in..i'm sure there are just as many supporting xbox...but my ps3 never had NAT problems online like xbox's have had.

This statement does make good sense....I agree it saves dev teams TONS of money to design for a platform......

BUT.... I don't want to play an MMORPG with No keyboard and mouse!    there will be a game LOOKING like an MMO, but with no community.....that will ruin the MMO industry and create another kind of hybrid game market......if they fix the community issues .... ps3 maybe add a REAL keyboard and mouse to use, then i'm on board....

i mean really....I have tried for hours to get the hang of warhawk...lol...i'm just too old to learn that new trick! lol

oh look...it looks JUST like swg, but you can't talk to anyone or have guild chat!!!  ...off....but..maybe on the ps3, the bugs will be fixed?  LOL!!!!

I swear to God I can't see what you ppl saying this game is broken are railing about...

I have a lvl 41 now and ok, so I find a couple quests that are broken...hell, 4 of them even...so what...they'll fix it in a patch...i just do another quest, no big deal.

This car didn't break down after i reached lvl 20, and none of the tires blew out, it works, it's not a stable client yet, get memory leaks out the butt, have to reboot my pc after 3 hours of playing, but it's able to be played and enjoyed. 

So if a quest is broken, or your animation doesn't work right, submit it to the devs....that's what the bug tool is for....i really wonder if the beta testers actually help find and fix bugs though... if i ever get to beta test a game, i'll actually BETA test it rather than try and be the first kid on the block to lvl 80 before launch day.

The NGE ...where everyone is a nobody...how true.

They took away every ounce of individuality from us.  We're all cookie cuttered into one prof path with identical skills.....that's soooo star warsy and iconic, no?
