He said that more classes would be added. They simply decided to do all the tradeskill classes first since that is the basis of the ingame economy and that has to be strong from the very beginning. He didn't mention why there are more non magic classes than magic though.

What I am wondering is which class is more of the healer. Would that be the thurmaturge? Or does this game shy away from dedicated healers?

The conjurer is more of a healler then the other

Since you can uses most skills on any class you have cure on your lancer if you wanted too... I did made soloing easier.

Yea ther only 2 magic cast at the moment

Conjurer kinda cross between a White Mage and a Black Mage.

They get elemental magics and Cure.

Thaumaturge is a debuffing class... I'd would have called them a Warlock.

They have spells that steal HP/TP/MP

They have heal too but it takes their HP to heal an ally.

Archer... well is just that

Gladiator is the warrior of the game Uses a One Hand Swords

Lancer, kinda like a Dragoon, just no pet. Uses Polearms

Marauder uses a 2 handed axe and get a buff after standing still for a abit. The buff inceases defense and attacks.

Pugilist is like a Monk. Uses Fist weapons.

It runs on 9600 gt, barely... but good enough to last until I have $200 for that EVGA GTX460 I'm eyeing on newegg

Just shutters alot when moving, more so in the cities... but still playable.

The way I think they doing it is after they give out so many keys, they cut off the issuing of keys for a few hours and then resume giving them out... staggering the number of people playing to keep the serevers from exploding.

It may take a while for you to get a key, but at some point you should be able to get one... in time.

Just don't count on getting one tonight because you might not.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4 GHZ)

4GB DDR2

It runs but it's not very smooth.

I get 15-25 FPS, with everything turn down.

Just upgrade the video card to GTX460 is really all I need to do, and I'd be golden.

I was wondering if they were going to do that.

The pulled the launcher off the website... looks like stopped the launcher from downloafing.

You can still use the torrents to get the patch files.

Tho if they pull the client they must of screw something up bad in it, maybe not downloading it is a good thing at the moment

it took me about 30 minute before utorrent started to download at a good speed... even then it varied from 50kbps to 180kbps (my DSL is slow 180kbps is pretty much my max)

took about 2 hours for that 1.3gb file... just let it sit.

The region thing is only there for payment and service options...

As far FFXIV concerned, it doesn't matter really.

FFXIV's servers are like FFXI's servers they aren't region based.

The server Kefka is Kefka for everyone...

Try to open utorrent port in your router by port forwarding/redirecting and you'll run fast. I'm uploading 1mb/s so a lot of people doing that I hope.

what are the ports that need forwarded?

That really depends you can set the port in the utorrent options... if you modem and or router has UPNP turned on you can just set upnp to on in utorrent and you shouldn't have to do anything.

Yea Square is Blocking bittorrent clients from connecting to THEIR seeds, but Peer/DHT seeds are working just fine.

I saw this in uTorrent:

Failure: requested download is not authorized for use with this tracker

But it didn't matter because of the DHT and Peer Exchance I connected to other seeds and peers... just not the main trackers.

1st there is no auto attack, 2nd jumping isn't needed.... tho being able to walk off small cliffs instead of walking around would be nice....

Japan, US, EU, and Aus get to pick the same servers.

I just used uTorrent for the big files

After you run the launcher it's make torrent files in this folder:

Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\metainfo

D2010.08.30.2000.torrent is the new 1.3gb patch file

H2010.08.10.2000.torrent is the old 3.5 gb patch file

The others just let the launcher download.

If you had the client before hand you just need D2010.08.30.2000.torrent

Once you have the file just copy it to:

Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\patch

took me 2 hours or so for the 1.3 gb file

I have DSL, my max download 180kbs... so if you have faster connection you have in far less time.
