I'm 33, and I agree with him. If you're willing to risk it, and you have the money, go for it. if not, don't. |

I hated UO for the same reasons you liked it. I know I won't like Darkfall, just based off what is little I know about it. Darkfall will fall into a niche for certain hardcore gamers, if it doesn't fail. I actually hope the game does well, the MMORPG genre needs it too. I'll pretty given up on finding a replacement for WoW, tho I really just want to leave the game. I only play for the lack of anything better to do, really. The only upcoming MMO I'm really looking at is Jumpgate Evolution, to get away from the Fantasy theme MMOs, darkfall falls into too this theme as well.

The only that kills an MMO is the basicly the MMO itself. Boils down to Either poor Design choices at launch or in a follow patch or xpac. WoW won't be killed just like EQ, wasn't by WoW. It will simply be replaced in time, by a new game. People will still play it tho. I doubt we will ever see a game that reach the same success WoW has tho.

I like how the game played, but I didn't like the lack of questing. The fact I had to group up and grind out levels just killing mobs with no real purpose, but to gain XP to level so I could do those quests. Grouping in FFXI was to much of a pain, and soloing wasn't a option, thus I quit. FFXI was the only MMO other then WoW that played more than a 1 month. Now I do have to say the leveling in WoW is too fast. They have made the quest too easy, like with the quest items sparkling thing... and putting the the gold ? and ! on the minimap. What was so wrong with having to look around for the quest grivers and who you had to turn the quest into? |

No raiding in TCoS...just solo and small group content.

I don't know if this is such a good idea. This is going turn the hardcore folks off to the game... MMOs need to carter to both casual and hardcore players to do well. |

If Warhhammer sucks so bad then...

Some are just trolls... Others really wanted the game to be good, and to them it wasn't.... I don't think the game sucks... it just needs work. I got tired of the Scenario Grind in Tier 3, Tor Anroc Got boring real fast. I try the game again in aboout 2 months or so after I blow thru the WOTLK stuff. |

Is the quest grind driving folks away from games?

Originally posted by SaintViktor I don't mind the quest grind but alot of mmos make it dull and boring to do. I guess that is why I played games such as FFXI and Guild Wars for the longest time. There is no such thing as quest grind for levels. ---------------------- ugh... I stopped playing FFXI because I couldn't quest without grinding to the right level. Drove me nuts. ---------------------- Originally posted by Loke666 Questing should feel fun and rewarding, not "sight, I have to kill another 20 bears again". Fewer really long quest with more XP instead of loads of meaningless ones are the way to go. I hate being the henchman of the hero or bad guy, who tells me to do all kinds of boring junk, if I wanted that I would get a job at McDonalds. --------------------- I like this idea. Anyway I really didn't mine leveling from 1-60, then 60 to 70 in WoW, questing. It's was the Alts I leveled that felt like the grind.

It really all depends on the server you play on too. on Skull Throne Destro side has a even spread of Chosen and Black Orcs, lots of Witch Elves, few Sorceress, and even fewer Magus, and like no healers. Order side is heavy on the healers, mostly Warrior and Rune Priests, and a massive amount Bright Wizards. I see more Iron Breakers then any of the other tanks on Order... but doesn't seem to be any more then the number Black Orcs. |

What Pinkcat said. when wotlk is released you can only make a Death Knight on any server you have a level 55 toon. Later, they are planning to make it so you can make one on any server if you have level 55 toon on any one server. |

Apparently so did I, then. The game I found completely boring. To get to any of the fun stuff requires lots of training.... Which is time based, something I completely thought was stupid. I do think it a good game, for those who are willing to put the time into it.... just not for me tho. To much travel time... time based skill leveling... no instant gratification early on in the game. |
