I played it for a while and just used my mouse. I don't know if a joystick or gamepad would be better, but it wasn't a problem without them.

There is a vampire race in Shadowbane and there is an evil winged race in Lineage 2, but they really look more demon-like than vampy ... or maybe like elves with a glandular problem. Your best bet would probably come one day from CCP/White Wolf, but there is nothing good out now. Personally, I would love to see the entire WW universe online in one big, world-size MMO, with vampires in the cities, werewolves in the countryside, etc. Maybe release them as separate MMOs that cross over.

What game client?
They have a game world they've probably completed but no telling how big is actually is.
And they have some videos they've programmed bots to do exactly what they want to show inside their virtual world.  (It's very easy to see that no players are actually playing, even in the videos where they want us to think so)
Why would Tasos bring a broken/unfinished/very buggy or non-existent game client with him?

None of you get it, do you? They did make Darkfall, and the reality of it is they made it TOO good. It was so real that it evolved into its own reality, and we're IN it! We are in it and we are all characters unaware of our own artificial consciousness. Our Darkfall is probably just a random bit of fluff in a quest that most people quickly click through without reading just to find out how many wolves they have to kill. Heck, maybe our whole debate over DF being vaporware is just a little inside joke our devs put in for the real old school beta testers to reminisce about. Think Thriteenth Floor meets World of World of Warcraft.

P.S.: Devs, Which one of you took the time to code it so I could see my poo when I flush?

I didn't care much for his character at first, but he really grew on you as the show progressed.

RIP General

Same here... funny thing is, after they promoted him out of SGC, nobody else filled the role well. RDA was the best actor in the entire series in like 7 seasons as the leader of SG-1, but couldn't pull off one season as general. Beau Bridges is probably the most accomplished actor associated with Stagate, but totally sucks donkey balls on this show. They seem to be having a similar problem replacing Weir on Atlantis.

you can do a search for 'mudlist' and find a ton of muds still out there. I tried to get all nostalgic a couple times, but after about 30 mins of playing, I tend to remember how much I hate writing down e-e-s-w-se-e-n-n-e-s-s-sw-sw-se-e-se-e-s-e-s-e-n-n-n- just to keep track of how to get to town. I'd probably be much happier if they added rudimentary 2d browser graphics and some clickable /command shortcuts.

LF a Mech MMO

You can be a robot looking guy in RF online, and the NCsoft game is Exteel, which I believe is more of an online dueling game than a real MMO, but I haven't tried it, so I could be wrong. Planetside is a MMOFPS that has some large mechs as well as smaller powered armor suits (also a ton of vehicles). I enjoyed that game for a long time, but quit before those mechs were introduced and have no idea what server population is like now.

I would love to see a MMO based on Battletech with an entire persistant universe ... fight in a house army, or clan, merc corp, frige pirate, comstar, whatever. Something like EVE in space, with jumpships and dropships, and once you drop, it would be more like planetside as you fight to take the planet. Restrict the tech and you could have 2 games for the price of 1 with separate pre- and post-clan servers. Of course, I would be happy with any mecha game - Robotech, Heavy Gear, Gundam, Patlabor, Appleseed, a unique IP, whatever ... but nooo... we need more elves apparently.

If you were to pick one, what class in what f2p game has the greatest melee damage output? Pretty much all games have assassin and offensive tank classes, but I am looking for the one that puts out the most impressive damage, be it huge crits or just high constant damage. I've played enough of these games to realize there is nothing out there that calls to me as a whole game, so I thought "why not see how much damage you can do while waiting for that dream game that is always on the horizon?" I don't mind a fair ammount of grind, as long as its not the greatest grind in all of mmo-dom.

According to the prophet, Nostradamus, in his 942nd rhymed quatrain he clearly states Darkfall will be released very soon.

Most of his quatrains deal with global disasters, but his 942nd rhymed quatrain is a prediction of a different nature. Like all of his quatrains, which are direct and not subject to any form of misinterpretation.

In this clearly unambiguous quatrain, he states the following:

- "After a great wait, the masses will change a great nation and control a greatly anticipated new realm. Mars will be close, and the great one will tremble in terror at change. The weak will become powerful in their worlds because all the REAL hardcore players will leave the nublets in WoW and reach new levels of PWNAGE in DARKFALL! (btw - it will happen in or around 2008, for you nublets who can't read my freakin quatrains.)"

Nostradamus is THE MAN.

- Phos

This is true.  I have read Nostradamus' works and they herald the coming of Darkfall, but you made a small error in translating the date.  He writes that it will happen on December 21, 2012, and that the message 'downloading patch...' will be the last message we all see when the world comes to an end.

How many of you want calms to be included?  How many of you want a mutiny on you ship?  How many of you want scurvy?  How many of you want your character to eat some spoiled food and die of food poisoning?  How many of you want your character to slip overboard and drown?

I can't speak for others, obviously, but I think pretty much all of those suggestions are fabulous and I hope will eventually be considered by the developers in the years to come.

I want scurvy!   Down with oranges!
