as a beta tester i saw great promise in aoc. a month after release i still saw a game that had very little change from beta. i thought to give the game several months to get the bugs sorted out. Yesterday i was at my local EB games talking to some friends and i started talking to a man that just got his account banned (and his whole guild got banned also) in aoc because they were raiding and with no forwarning got a banhammer thrown down on them. he finaly got ahold of funcom and they said it was because he was standing at the wall as a ranger, and because he was standing at the wall he wasnt getting hit by aoe. then the gm just logged right in the middle of the conversation. now if im a range dps and im attacking something, im going to use the environment to my advantage. with all the banhammers being thrown down i have changed my mind about this game. you even get banned if you buy an item off the auction house that is being sold by a gold seller. so really, this game has lost its fan base. did i mention that if you criticised the game on the forum you also get banned? oh ya and lvl 25s ganking you in the starting area set for lvl 10s i like pvp ( bought the game because of it ) but funcom didn't think it out enough so be forwarned before playing again. |

ok i think they should combine all the servers that have 5-10k players to get some bigger communitys. GET RID OF BG's..... and set up existing areas for pvp. maby some people would actualy raid the major citys.... make more...more... and maby some MORE pvp rewards that don't require you to not have a life to get like people that pve 24/7 d.(i have a friend that has a lvl 70 of every class and guess what he does all day... pve. he does not have a life because hes on TS 24/7) make the in game voice chat better.... the cs 5.3 codec isn't working to well for em. if they don't combine servers then transfering between them should be FREE. i think it should be free anyway because have a high lvl and the servers community is crap.. it really sucks. just some suggestions. meh what do you guys think

i played the beta and it's a fun game. i pre-ordered it but i wont be paying a subscription (it wasn't that good to be paying a subscription for). it should be like any other rpg and they should put out expansions not make you have a monthly fee. |

the cell is and in order processor as the normal desktop cpu is out of order. the main thing is is the software. weather it be games or an OS. but if IBM and sony and toshiba realize how much they could revenue from producing a cell that is out of order instructions then they would dominate the market. i think i read that they used software to emulate the processor being out of order but the performance when down from 200+gflops to 133gflops. thats still way more powerfull than intels or amd's best cpu. i also read some ware "the computer industry has always been evolution rather then revolution" and that seems to be true. microsoft has thrived on this writing all their os on the x86 arch but if the market swings toward another arch cpu then someone is going to have to come up with a good os. hopefully one that doesn't crash and get a lot of mem leaks. but also for the Cell to succeed then it must be upgradeable/customizeable. i personaly don't like buying a desktop pc from a oem manufacturer i like to customize it down to the thermal greace thats on my cpu and chipsets. |

thought i should start a thread about this. with the cell processor being 20x more powerfull than intels quad cores and arround 1/2 to 3/4th as powerfull as the best video cards.i have to wonder why my computer doesn't have one in it. i know that Microsoft windows XP would probably only work with it being emulated in linux and vista wont work probably at all but if there is a market for it i'm sure it will thrive. with the market being games or just brute computing power the cell looks like a cost effective and more efficient piece of hardware. i just recently got a PS3 and am installing linux to is as i type this. i hope to configure wine with it and hopefully see what it can do with windows games. if all goes well then i can start to get a better idea on not just the ps3's future but the cell's future. What are your guys idea on the subject? |

to make this game a success they have to make it the almost opposite of LOTRO. they have to make it so you can join many or at least 2 different factions for pvp but they should also have neutral or so factions for people that dont like pvp. |
