I think its obvious this will be on the PS3.  Thats fine by me.  I'm slightly curious about this game.  It seems a bit different and thats what we all want.  I'm pretty tired of the fantasy genre.

Nothing Funcom does should surprise anyone anymore at this point.

and that is exactly it too.

I don't play AoC and I despise Funcom but I do enjoy poking my head in here to see what Funcom has come up with next.   I feel like I'm rubber necking an accident on the freeway.  Lol ..... Funcom .....

I'm not that surprised.  Beta testers, well people who bought the pre-order had to pay to download the game.  We got an extra 5 days too.  But yea I was kinda surpised when I realized I had to pay five bucks to actually use my game the few days earlier than others.

Heh, I always buy 4 Snickers Bars every morning from the 7 Elven; it used to cost under 3 bux.Now it costs me almost 5 bucks.
Hey i bought a $2.00 24 oz. bottle of Coke the other day and the machine didn't even have a slot for coins;it just had a slot  for singles...
Prices Go Up People. In general things cost more and more everyday. This is just how the world works my friends.

Anyways,
I do believe Age of Conan will be a step above all other mmorpgs.

A higher monthly fee could be easily justified.Heck, I would even pay 24.95 a month to play this game.
Heck,I would even  pay 149.95 for a special "Collectors Edition" box(if they included a real bronze 2 hand axe with the name Conan engraved on it or something neato)

I think that this game will raise the bar and set a new standard in the genre for future mmorpgs.
Charging $19.95 per month for a game with all that Age of Conan will offer only makes sense to me.
I hope someone important from Funcom reads this. Someone could be gettin' a raise.

Holy cow.  4 Snickers bars a day... Jesus Christ.  Anyways.  I don't think anyone wants to be the first game to start charging 20 bucks.  Once someone bites the bullet and does I think others will soon follow.

Edit:  I don't think a game that currently is 15 bucks will start charging more.  I'm thinking new games that come out will charge more if someone else starts the trend.

I really think Funcom should be thanked for releasing AoC in the condition it's in.

I believe they have opened up other developers eyes, and made them realise they can't release unpolished garbage and get away with it.

I don't look at paying 50 dollars for AoC as a rip off anymore. I look at it like an investment in the future of mmo's.

Warhammer cutting cities and classes is a prime example. They saw the backlash FC got from it's customers and realised they need to release the content when it is polished.

While I agree with you on the state of AOC... I don't think developers or publishers are going to learn any lessons from it.  If anything, the initial successful sales of the game just prove that we are willing to buy unfinished crap.

When it comes to WAR... I highly doubt the game is going to be very polished at launch.  If they are having to cut so much major content and features... imagine how bad the little "unimportant" stuff like class balance and itemization will be.  I bet it plays a lot like AOC at it's launch.

Maybe we are the ones who can learn a lesson here... Don't play MMOs at launch. :(

Yea I agree.  All the most recent games I have played were as bad or worse than AoC.  I think the first 20 levels or so were great, but after that, I was pretty bored.  I think Warhammer is making very sure that they will have some of the things that AoC didn't.  40-60 content, end game, etc.  I think developers pay attention, but then also think they can get away with it and frankly I bet they think the people that stick with it and don't quit is good enough.  They probably don't care about the percentage of people that quit, because honestly they will probably quit anyways no matter how good the game is.  Thats what they do.  They go from mmo to mmo and I'm sure the Devs are cool with that.  Thats the nature of this business.

Thanks JelloB2000,

Yea, I didn't think it was a virus or anything like that.  I just figured it was some browser problem.  I've just never seen it before and not on any other sites.

I know I was one of them, lack of communication and game stability.

How about fixing all the bugs for a Holiday Edition.

How about lack of content?  I don't care about communication.  That shit happens with every developer and games stability for me was good.

“We’ve always believed that it is important to go to the community with both good news and bad,” he said. “Whether it’s the state of the games, or just talking in the forums, we’re professional enough to confront bad news head on and not try to hide it and not try to play games and wait until the last minute when people have already bought the game to tell them. We will not play those kinds of games.”

Yea right, thats what they all say.  I for one think they will try to actually do this, but when launch time comes and things get hectic, this idea is out the door.

I used Firefox 3 as my browser and mmorpg.com is a tab that opens automatically as well as a few others.  Everytime I open firefox, I get a download for a CF file.  I hit cancel and then refresh and it works fine, but why does it do that in the first place?  I've never heard of a CF file.  Any insight would be appreciated.

I've had it happen again.  To clarify its the index.cfm file.  Firefox must be trying to download it, but I have no idea why.  Anyone actually from the site have an ideas to stop this crap?

Risk just means the amount of real life time you waste for a reward.  Crafting like he said, takes an enormous amount of time to solo craft a spellstrike hood.  where as you can just run kara or some heroics and get equal gear at a badge vendor.  geez people use your f'ing brain.

Utter Fail.

Try earning your way in a virtual world. Real money isn't supposed to exist or hold influence in a virtual world. Maybe the concept of a virtual world is above your reasoning?

We pay money to play, why can't we pay money for in-game stuff.

I've been playing a Dread Knight myself and like its 2 hand tanking/drain life aspect.  I'll probably try the bard and a healer in the future.

I haven't crossed a hitch in a dungeon since I've been back, but when crossing in the open my system lags a little bit.  Just a few seconds and thats about it.

And with that incentive, a lot of people set upon the path of trying to figure out how to become a jedi.  There was a lot of discussion on the subject back then.

Yea, its been a while, but when I bought it I remember looking on th box and seeing something about unlocking.  Not exactly in those words though.

You should reread the title of your post "Now that we have UNOFFICIAL confirmation"  I want an official link from Bioware or it didn't happen.  Sounds pure speculation.
