The irony is that the only pc exclusives are mmos with outdated graphics anyway. The sheer volume of AAA console exclusives you simply can't get on pc more than make up for weaker hardware.

you forgot the PC exclusives that are just generally beyond the consoles ability to support, and have cutting edge graphics, but that would be an inconvenient truth, lot of that going around at the moment, must be the weather.

and for inconvenient truths, how about the one where the future of console gaming is dependant on the next generation of consoles succeeding, and Microsoft already dropped the ball on that one, maybe Sony can save the consoles, but regardless of what happens, PC gaming will continue regardless, funny how that works out isnt it

personally, I can't think of a single aaa pc exclusive that is a must have and also has such amazing graphics that put current gen consoles to shame.

only it doesnt have anything at all to do with journalistic integrity and accountability - they expressed they opinion. they could have wrote that eqnext is the best game ever and the most fabulous thing since invention of electricity and it would still be just that - their opinion. and that something everyone has right to. you behave like they were paid to write it, which i strongly doubt.

temper your expectations.

Why? Because the game very well might be, in the eyes of some, an epic sandbox. But in YOUR mind's eye it is very possible that any game will not fit/fulfill your requirements for epic sandbox.

So people should take a deep breath, lower your godly expectations and realize that the game can very well be "a good" sandbox and let it lie at that.

That's pretty much where I'm livin with this game. I do find it interesting that the majority of us (myself included) are willing to believe what we do not yet see time and time again. Im glad we arent all cynics. But the irony is how open minded we are to games we know little to nothing about and then when we get actual info and game footage we nitpick it to death.

What does it matter? When they have their reveal in August I totally do not expect a complete and finished game with every feature implemented. People act like companies have just punched their puppies when something isn't in game.

 

I have an idea, how about we wait until August and then find out... I know, I know, that might be too radical an idea around here but give it a try, you never know...

Bill, you gotta admit its not unreasonable to doubt your opinions. You guys do this to every preview since I've been a member. What I don't understand is FFXIV has been blowing up on these forums and for good reason, yet its nowhere to be found on your list. Best in show is a game we have no info on? All we have is your word to go by, who's track record on these things is spotty at best.

I don't think the op really knows exactly what cloud computing does/is.

Doomsday posts based on hearsay regarding a predetermined stance on a feature of a game yet to be released...

I have seen many posts about combat, quests, fates, dungeons etc. But I am interested to know about the non combat centric aspects of the game. How is the crafting system now? How relevant is it to the meta game? Is there housing? Plans for housing? What are the range of emotes? Can you sit in a chair, lean up against a wall? What are the non combat social activities? Is there persistent world shopkeeping or even instanced player owned storefronts? Mini games or even card games?

In other words, lets say I don't want to quest or do any activities that involve combat. How varied and robust are the other game's systems?

I think we will see companies like rockstar and Ubisoft bringing open world sandbox style mmos back into the mainstream.
