Pressuring for a release , when the testing proved to be going poorly, not figuring out the truth to the billing errors, taking an Ex-employs word over the key developers just out of spite, just because you are feeling scammed ? What where you guys thinking when you where in beta, how many  /loc of bugs did you report, did you do end of the moth analysis and post them on ther forums ? Seriously , a mmo lives or dies by the beta team testing, Vanguard(Dieing) is a staple to that, as well as LotRO(Succeeding).

I'm saying this in all hoesty and fairness, there could be a few souls out there that tried to test the game but when you have a test team looking for blood, those few people won't even matter, it takes a collective effort by everyone , including the developers ability to communicate to the testers directly or through a good community cordinator, to get problems solved.

 

I will probably start playing now cause I just motivated myself to play this game .

People getting billed a year after they canceled is not a "billing error", it's a rip-off.

 

And unless you were a beta tester, then you have no idea of what you're talking about. If you were a beta tester, then you have a very faulty memory. Beta  testers were ignored by Farlan, instead being lied to about all the content/fixes being implemented in one magic fix at release in order to make them feel like they were being listened to.

People coming here with no clue at all about what happened, yet trying to declare the fans as the deise of DnL, is the biggest joke ever.

Anyway, you're free to have your opinions (as comically unfounded as they may be).

On the whole, I'm pretty much tired of dealing with trolls, flamebaiters, and shills trying to ressurrect Farlan's decrepit reputation. Anyone who has enough sense to read through all the threads here on DnL have more than enough info to be warned away. Anyone who falls for the pro-Farlan spouters that come here at this point, deserve what they get. Can't save the world.

And yes, I agree, unless they were beta testers themselves, they havent a CLUE! how Farlan treated the testers, ignored the testers, ignored the reports, requests, suggestions, fixes, etc, etc. It wasnt the beta testers, it wasnt the fans, it wasnt the devs with sense enought to leave when they did, ..... it was alllllllll Farlan. You just cant get that through your head now can you?

And yes , I agree it wasnt just a  "billing error"....it was trying to keep pre-paid money for something that had not even been released or "delivered" yet --- no refunds whatsoever for prepayment of the game even before they released it! Yes, they tried and some had to threaten with a class action lawsuit ,and why? Cuz you just dont take peoples money and not deliver ANYTHING TO THEM! Farlan tried!!!!   Then they said, okay we give you two weeks time to refund. ERRRGGHHH WRONG AGAIN!!! Aint gonna happen and guess what? It didnt!!! (remember too , this is allll the while Farlan was claiming SOG was not DNL and welp, you guessed it! SOG was and is DNL -- top of the message boards, see the post for SOG Instructions? It is referred to as the DNL manual -- thats just ONE handy dandy little piece of evidence. Lots more inside this message board for your reading pleasure!) Then!!!! After the 10% complete fiasco of SOG release and hundreds crying for their money back before DNL is released -- this is when SEVERAL beta testers came out of the woodwork and produced evidence of Farlans actions during beta--- Farlan tried to ignore the requests made to C&B for refunds. C&B was so overloaded by requests and well, knowing the global payment transaction laws would slam down , they issued refunds without Farlans consent and why? Because Farlan IGNORED THEM!  Oh ohoh Then lets get into the people that did stay and paid but couldnt even play for MONTHS due to the ALI!!! Farlan again IGNORED THEM! Hundreds more! Farlan AGAIN IGNORED THEM!

A year later, hundreds were billed again and again and again!!! Some people were billed almost on the average of every 3 months or so. Some were billed 2x, 3x, and one poster, WITH PROOF! was billed 6x in one transaction and guess what? HE WAS IGNORED!

So billing mistake? Hardly. Rip-off? RIGHT ON!!!

Incompetence, arrogance, inexperience, deceitfulness, and flat out sleaziness did the game in lonnnggg before Farlan really started the hype. I do believe that Farlan is the place where "blame" should be met. Farlan should stand up and bow out gracefully as recommended even by various websites over a year ago. But Farlan doesnt see that. Like a spoiled little child, arrogant and extremely governed by EGO, Farlan refuses to accept the failure. Farlan refuses to see that allowing the game to continue, whether free or not, is just making it a bittersweet but hilarious joke.

You see, this site, mmorpg.com, is not the only message board. It is however a board where posters may say what they want - until you go over the line. The majority here dont even care about DNL. There are only a few posters left who have eaten this game for 3-4 years straight. To come on here and blast those regulars with erroneous information and flat out lies and flame baiting is Farlans way, I understand that, but you have to realize too, we have the "report button" also. If we have to, we will ask permission to allow a 2-3 year old thread to be woken up so you can see the posts, read the info, and stop your bashing of not only this site, this board, but its members too.

That was neither the issue nor the agreement nor the contract between Farlan and _Pix_. Its all there on the website. He didnt sign over the licensing.He didnt sell his creation. Again, its all there on his site. Do you a world of good to read it.
