I would like a buddy key aswell if possible,would realy apreciate it,since the beta kinda caught me when I couldnt play at all.

 I would like to try again aswell,see if they fixed the mouse and some of the lag.

I know when I first came into contact with Star Wars I was amazed.

It was the second movie I saw first, Empire Strikes Back that was run on TV, and I was absolutely engrossed by the great story that was being told. It had story, drama, all kinds of great action, scifi that impressed... in short, I was hooked.

But it is now more a Blade Runner, Aliens and The Matrix (only the 1st) that I favor as my scifi classics, more than a Star Wars.

 

Bottomline is, I don't have that same excitement for Star Wars anymore that I had, to the point that if Bioware wasn't involved I'd probably even skip this MMO title. And even then, knowing that Bioware was involved, it took seeing the first video and reading up on the setting and what Bioware devs had to tell about SW:TOR that got me interested in it.

I loved Mass Effect 1 & 2, and I sense something of Bioware's touch with the ME series also in SW:TOR. If anybody can make Star Wars in SW:TOR a deep, rich and compelling story, then it's the Bioware guys; I think they're even better capable of accomplishing it than a George Lucas himself. So I wait and see, and in the meantime I just keep following the news.

 Yes it excites me very much.. I wack off 10 times a day to Star Wars mythology... wait wot ?!

 Just thought id throw in my oppinion,I finnaly managed to get a open beta key,and log in.Played for quite abit,and even tho I kinda like the scheme,world and story,the thing is I cant get into the game,because of:

1.Realy high system req,I mean,I can run crysis on max settings without any lag,yet I can barerly run this on med settings.

2.Long delay and slow mouse response,I know the game is ment to be played with a controller,however if you are going to implement different options for playing the game,mouse and keyboard,atleast do it well.

 The first problem isnt that big of a deal,not a graphics freak,tho the game code definetly needs more work,the second problem makes it very hard ,boring and tedious to do the most simple and irellevant tasks.Im not talking about combat wich I kinda enjoy.

 All in all,thats all I had to say,this game isnt for everyone,it isnt for me until they do something about controls.. till then,I would prefer a complex game like EVE where I dont die of boredom trying to acess a menu,I die of boredom doing missions,but I can pvp to fix that.

 Like I said... it's a good game,with 1 major flaw (from my perspective),fix the freaking controls.Plus the fact that alot of competion is out ,wont help it's high system specs,Cataclysm,Guild Wars 2,Vindictus ,Tera Online.(yes different gameplay ,however they are MMOGs,GW 2 is 1 time purchase and Vindictus is free).

It still can be considered niche because it catters to a specific audience wich has grown and CCP refuses to try to adopt a formula to cater to the masses (YAY CCP),and keeps the game hardcore.

 Personaly I think EVE has the best formula for a sucesfull MMOG,it needs just abit more tweaking.. but not in the direction of simplicity.. but better yet expand on it.I still play EVE on and off because I can play for tehnicly free anyway and I still have tons of fun.

 Me and my warhammer friends (not table top fans),but we read the books and dive into the lore.. had many discussions about the Emperor and we came to one conclusion.

 The Emperor's true name was either Bob or John... he didnt like the boring name,soo he decided to unnify humanity and be called "Emperor".

So you want something "new" to play, but at the same time want it to play just as fast and similar to everything you've played already...quite contradictory.

That's quite a lot of words to put in someone else's mouth. I don't see why his point isn't legitimate or valid. People play games to have fun, not to have a second / unpaid job. He never said he wants it to play like game X, but newer; he just said he wanted a decent pace to the combat so he isn't stuck waiting for a mob to die instead of having fun.

I have to say that I also agree with him. Regular mob fights should not take very long. The longer duration fights should be reserved for more challenging mobs. I'm not suggesting the game turn into a twitch-fest, but the combat in the videos seems even slower than FFXI. I also don't like some of the casting times I saw, or the amount of skills that seemed to be 'click + wait' oriented.

 Soo what does fun entice in your book ? Mobs dying the instant u see them and dropping epics ?

 Well im set on buying FFXIV ,but it will still be more then a month till launch,and I want to play abit of FFXI to get the feel of the universe and to kill time... the only site ive found where I can digitaly download FF XI was steam (the other 2,D2D and gamestop dont have it anymore for DD) ,and I have credit card problems with steam,no card works and im not in the mood to jump threw hoops to get it to work.

 Soo all in all,does anyone happen to have a buddy invite for FF XI they can spare ?

 EVE pvp puts the phrase "Knowledge is power,hide it well" to the extreme,only the smart and informed will survive and win pvp encounters.

 People who are used to jumping in without thinking and alone will always die 90% of the time.

 In other words,in EVE you need a brain and the knowledge and ability to use it to survive in PVP ...

 This has being announced for awhile now,free MW ... however its being soo long and dragging that most people wont even be intrested to play it ,expecialy with all the close releases for alot of good titles.
