Originally posted by Greymoor Numbers aren't important to me, just the companies trying to make a profit. If they make a profit, then the game will probably be around a while. If that happens, I don't have to worry about it going under any time soon thus forcing me to look for another MMO to play. |

10-50 BGs are not going to last
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/03/12 3:43:10 PM
Originally posted by sigurd57 You aren't lying, Sorcerers are OPed, I know this personally. There is another class I've had issues with in BGs as well, but they also start out as a Inquisitor. I'm not going to start throwing around names, but in Huttball, on my server, one particular Assassin basically won the game for his team, every time, not 99% of the time, 100%. Actually, I take that back, he had 2-3 other friends playing on same team, which brings up another points. Premade teams in BG need their own BGs. Such as a BG for groups and a separate BG for people who queue solo. |

10-50 BGs are not going to last
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/03/12 1:54:09 AM
Guess I'll have to make some videos to show what I'm talking about. Having a level 50 rip through you in 3-4 hits while your 2 DoTs, 2 Instant DD and Channel Damage barely do anything to them period. However, I also find it funny that I can out damage my 38 Mercenary with my 25 Sorcerer in BGs, such as 200-250k total damage when my Merc barely gets 150k. I'm going to blame that on the friggin lag. |

10-50 BGs are not going to last
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/02/12 11:33:22 PM
It was ok at launch, but now, its just retarded. Even at 37, I barely put a dent in 50s while they rip through me like nothing. If BioWare doesn't bracket it then I forsee a lot of unhappy BGers. Please don't tell me there isn't enough people in queue either cause my server is constantly at full capacity. Most other MMOs have bracketed BGs, so where is SWTORs? |

Is SWTOR yet another example of companies realizing it's time to stop GANKING!!
General Discussion « Star Wars: The Old Republic 1/02/12 10:02:12 AM
I'm not sure why people are even bringing up PvP or PvE servers. The OP clearly stated he enjoys the PvE aspects of SWTOR, most likely on PvE servers. He compared SWTOR PvE to Aion PvE and since I've played both, instantly recognized his agitation with Aion's so called PvE design. You see, SWTOR has open PvP, even on PvE servers, but its in specific areas only. Meaning people who don't like being ganked while doing missions, like in Aion, can do so in SWOTR without worry. With that being said, SWTOR along with DAoC and WoW are probably three of only a few games to ever get PvP right, on PvE servers. |

Sure, it doesn't change the world, but it does change your story. Alignment system that doesn't do anything... hmm. 1) Restricts you to certain gear choices. 2) Affects your characters appearance. 3) Creates a variety in gameplay that isn't seen in other MMO's. Space combat... hmm. Sure, you're right, it's an absolute joke, but then BioWare never intended for their to be an open space combat system in place at launch. SWTOR space combat is currently a "mini-game". However, they realize it's very much wanted and are not against adding it later. The world is a box with painted backgrounds... hmm. I know your a huge GW2 fan and never really had anything positive to say about SWTOR, but seriously? I really hope your not saying GW2 has a better environment system. Dynamic quests are nice along with a changing world, but if it isn't implemented correctly, you're going to end up with the same crap Rift has. Aside from that, the pure aesthetics, combined with music overtones probably makes SWTOR just as good as GW2, so lets not get cocky, shall we? |

Why Slicing got nerfed, by the obvious guy... Slicing is a gathering and a mission skill, it is THEE ONLY gathering skill that gives straight up profit which in my opinion is plenty damn good. My wife uses slicing on one of her ALTs and even in the mid level ranges, still makes 500-1000 credits for all the lockboxes she finds. Sorry to rain on your rage, but slicing is still a very easy crew skill to make credits with. Every other gathering profession requires a need on the market to make a profit. What does slicing need to make a profit? 2 feet and 2 hands and the willingness to travel. Sorry, but making 150k credits by level 20-25 is the most profitable gathering profession out there and its only going to get better as more and more unused mats hit the market. You complain that the rewards from doing slicing missions is killing your profit? Oh no! Same thing goes for every other missio crew skill that requires mats to make blues or purples. Slicing was and still is a money maker, sorry. |

Down for maintenance. 1.0.1. PTR Patch notes

Ahh fudge sticks, no friggin fix for the broken Act 1 BH boss... <sigh> |
|
|
I'm not into spoilers, so going to be brief. I've submitted tickets, posted on the official forums and found nothing that worked to fix this ongoing problem. Apparently, once you reach the final mission for Act 1, you're suppose to kill a final boss. Well, unfortunately for a lot of BH's, that final boss refuses to spawn, despite mission resets, loggin out and back in and even leaving the mission and coming back. Both my wife and I are in the same boat with this. She tried doing her BH first and got the bug, nothing worked. I tried with my BH and same thing, no fix. Hopefully this mornings patch fixes it cause a broken class quest is kind of a big no no. |

LOL, I thought this was a thread discussing Crowd Control. Guess Credit Card works too. |

So I got an invite to another game's closed beta. I actually chuckled to myself because of all the hate on SWTOR and yet I really don't even care about the beta invite. Who knows, maybe I'll give it a try if the servers ever come down again. This is one MMO veteran who is still enjoying SWTOR, despite all the naysaying. SWTOR isn't a perfect 10, never said it was, but ever since 1993 when I was playing Gemstone 3 on AOL, I have yet to see a perfect online game at launch. I'll stick with SWTOR because it's a good game now and will most likely only improve from here on out. |

This thread isn't about deleting negative posts, its about stopping the spam of similar negative posts in a given hour. Granted, even I don't bother to search forums to see what everyone has posted, I know what I've posted. You'ld be suprised how many people create threads, same title, same crap inside on a regular basis. |

Originally posted by tkoreaper Once again, you entered a contract when you used your serial code. I myself never read a EULA or anything else when it comes to MMO's, but that will probably burn me later. I'm beginning to think you or whoever had no intention of subscribing, but thats fine, you don't HAVE to pay for the first 30 days, but you HAVE to subscribe and are welcome to cancel before you are charged. Seriously, it's not a difficult option and refusal is YOUR choice. |

I really don't see what the issue is... Here's some easy steps to alleviate your problem... 1) Get a CC, Debit Card or something that shows you have financial responsibilty. 2) Subscribe with said card. 3) Play SWTOR 4) Decide by day 29 if you want to actually subscribe. 5) Unsubscribe or keey playing.
EDIT: Ok, apparently you can afford a $60 MMO, but not a $30 game card. I take it you were expecting to play your first 30 days whenever? So my question is, did you pre-order your game? If so, thats probably why your time is ticking. If you bought your game from a store on the 20th, than you have a legitimate complaint. I'll await the answer. |

Go watch Star Wars I & II again and tell me if you think Queen Amidala doesn't look ridiculous at times with what she is wearing. With that being said, do you all think people of other cultures in the real world look awful as well? Tribal apparel or ritual apparel may look odd to you, but not to the people wearing it. This is sci-fi fantasy folks, your cultural ignorance won't work here, sorry. If you aren't able to handle the artwork, by all means, cancel your sub. I for one enjoy something a little different from the WoW era of MMOs. Funny how things that look too much like WoW are a clone and stuff that looks nothing like WoW are abominations. Move along... move along. |

Is it just me or did no one else notice the vague opening statement of the OP abruptly ended soon after? Why do people start a thread, such as this and then provide no debate with which to even discuss it? Trolls don't deserve any presents. |

TOR vs Rift..What TOR proves to devs?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 12/22/11 2:28:09 AM
The thing about SWTOR or any IP thats most important, is does it make players feel like they are in THAT IP environment. When WoW came out, most people had already played Warcraft 1-3 and knew quite well what to expect. Blizzard simply hit the nail on the head with WoW environment, classes and races when it launched, that simple. Now, SWG was the first Star Wars IP and I played that as well, when it launched for quite a while. It was actually pretty well done in terms of feeling like Star Wars and incorporated a lot of new features. Especially in the crafting and character abilities department. If SOE hadn't butchered the initial product, SWG might have actually survived. As for SWTOR, once again, BioWare, like Blizzard, hit the nail on the head with creating an atmosphere that fits the IP quite well. Each class and race has a purpose and feels right. I can play any of the 8 base classes and feel like a hero. I can play any of the 16 advanced classes and feel that much more epic. SWTOR isn't better than Rift cause its on a larger scale. It's because it's an IP with a huge following that didn't disappoint its fans. |
