How different from WoW do you have to be in order not to be labeled a "Wow-Clone"?
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 2/11/11 4:46:33 PM
I'm sure someone has already said it. To not be labeled as a WoW-Clone it must not be an mmo. |

Most likely good loot with +stats mods that can't be gotten from anywhere else. You got to have fun playing the quest or zone and thats great, but don't kid yourself and say you aren't paying for +stat gear. And maybe the gear you receiced from the purchased content can be traded to those that didn't pay, and then again maybe its can't be. |

Champions Online: OMEGA System, Microtransactions Unveiled

Yeah who cares what other people spend their money on. Hm, but here is something to think about. Lets say there is a certain item you want that can be gotten by either item shop or drop from a mob. Now you have to think that the company wants you to buy the item, otherwise why would they place it in a store. So they are of course going to make getting that item hard. What could have been a 10% chance drop in a pay to play game, is now at a 0.001% chance drop in the game with an item shop. Xp for level 45-46 might have been 100k in a pay to play game, but is now 200k in the item shop game. Well not if you buy that xp bonus item that gives 50-100% more xp. Item shops are designed to drain you of your money or your fun. |

General: Massey: The Myth of Role-Playing Servers

Pure opinion and pure shit. |

Alive yes. Twitching and rattling in some far off dank cave smelling like stillbirth and vinegar. |

"Kite mobs or they'll kite you." More like, kite mobs and they run back to their spawn spot and insta heal to full. But yes, do correctly place a line of ranged attacks into your skill deck. |

Irth online had a gigantic world. You could walk for hours and your map would hardly show any distance traveled. Think I read that traveling from the most western to the eastern coast would take you seven real days. No loading zones either, might have been the reason for the terrible lag players suffered through and in the end its demise. Daoc also has a large environment if you add up all expansions and all three realms. |

The value that comes from entertainment derived from any game or activity is personal opinion. I'm perplexed that you say one of these games ultimately is less of a waste over another. |

How many folks will buy gold when playing Darkfall?
General Discussion « Darkfall 1/28/09 7:11:47 PM
Gold farmer sells gold to some chump. Gold sellers tell his partners with another guild who he sold the gold to. Partners jump and loot the person who bought the gold, a little while later. Repeat process. |

Daoc on a classic server is pretty much it, with the exception of champ weapons there is no need to quest. Yet still the champ weapon isn't even needed. Just buy your end game gear from crafters or use the not so perfect drops. |

The one style of MMOG that has never been made before
The Pub at MMORPG.COM « General Discussion 10/31/08 2:59:57 PM
Daoc: Trials of Atlantis. Well it isn't completely underwater, but lots of time can be spent in the depths of the sea. Thinking about it I kinda miss it. Awesome to see giant whales or octopus swimming overhead and a bit scary. But maybe thats just me. Anyway, I like the idea of an underwater world. |

Not taking damage for how long? Every class I've played so far, all three of them have some sort of damage immunity ability. Parry all attackes for 10 seconds, block all attacks, absorb 200 damage, etc. Maybe this is what you've seen. Or maybe some badass healing being done. |

im going to solo this whole friggin game
General Discussion « WAR (Warhammer Online) 10/10/08 8:50:36 PM
Maybe you should just ask someone if you can join their guild. Unless you are saying you haven't seen anyone in a guild. If thats the case make one. Guilds on Averheim are tossing invites out all the time. Last night I was sent five invited within 30 minutes... and I'm not interested in a guild. I find it hard for someone wanting to join a guild not being able to. |

When i ask the question it isn't aimed at Ritex's remark, but of my own about Hitler. It was a bit of a joke that had nothing to do with the topic. Understand? |

Something like that was said when Hitler was born... What does this have to do with the topic? Dunno. Anyway, scenarios aren't pointless. They are quick fixes for the pvp junkie. Oh and they also work well in killing real rvr. You know where there are keeps and control points are located. What do you mean you never heard of those?! Hey, know what else just about everyone knows nothing about? Lairs! WTF is that!? |
